Good video. Ive heard rumors that the reason the amazon Motocraft filters are so cheap is that they may be knock offs but who knows. But it's good to know you can fit under there without jacking the front up all the way. I have long arms and big hands as well so I should have no issues with this method. I did something similar on my previous escape....just jacked up the front enough to set a wood block under both front tires and I was always able to reach under to do the work. I don't trust ramps. I did buy a Fumoto drain valve and the adapter to fit the 2.0 I'll try once I get to doing the first oil change in mine. I think it should be fine as they have the safety clip that goes on to ensure it stays closed. Mine only has about 170 miles on so far.....I plan to change the factory oil out at about 2000 miles or so and then go to full synthetic for the rest of its life. I don't drive a ton of miles a year so a lot of times I'll end up just changing it once every 6 mos of so even though it's nowhere near the mileage to really change yet. Have a safe trip to Florida!
I've read about the knock-offs as well. I hope these are OEM since they come from Amazon and not an Amazon affiliate. Judging from the oil clarify, they seem to work well regardless. Thanks for watching!
just about inch or 2" left and inside of the pinch there is a nice size of metal there. would you jack it up there or put a jack stand. I did put a jack stand there. I didn't do any oil change yet. Just wanted to see if that was a good location. It just looked more stronger area then pinch weld. I don't know. I just think if a shop uses a lift, I don't see them lifting on pinch welds. What are your thoughts?
I did install the weather stripping. With lots of highway miles ahead of us, I am sure we'll get into some rain so we will see how well it does. Initial trials around home are positive!
Yeah, I have ramps but getting them our of the shed and getting the truck setup takes as much time as just using the jacks. Definitely don't recommend using jacks but I am o.k. with it since my head isn't under the truck.
@@johnnypipe For sure, I do have jackstands. I have used them on lower profile vehicles but the truck does sit up high enough that I can reach the engine shield screws without sliding under the truck.
With all due respect and this is for anyone watching do not. I mean DO NOT work under a car with hydraulic jacks only their are people i know who no longer are in this earth because of this habit! FYI maverick owner here also.
Thanks for the video. One old timer tip is to use a sharpie and write the date and mileage on the new oil filter.

How I missed this video is beyond me. Hope you have a safe trip. Did you ever install the weather stripping for the tail-gate?

I have a maverick 4.4 all wheel
Heard they scraped new offering.
What offering are you referring to?

@@meandmymaverick If ever in doubt, you could always use jack stands. Nice truck.
