I love that in the time you had in this video, you truly made an effort to find books for a variety of mental illnesses. Depression, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, schizophrenia, and suicidal tendencies are all seen here.
As a severely OCD individual, I love Turtles All The Way Down, But I cannot reread it. It is too real. Too close to home. Even the cover represents the wiring of the OCD mind, and what a spiral is like.
What a beautifully presented collection of recommendations. I love, too, how you are careful to add words of caution for potential triggers! Your delivery is wonderfully energetic, articulate and very well organized. Thank you, and I look forward to more of your recommendations! :-)
I've had a really rough month so I couldnt read any mental health books this month (fantasy to distract me from the real world) 😞 I'm really loving the new representation I've been seeing lately though. A Danger to Herself and Others was one I did read last month, and it took me for a spin and really made me think about schizophrenia in a way I haven't.
hey don't be too hard on yourself! you can read mental health books anytime of the year not just this month! and thank you so much for the rec, that one seems to be a popular fave! :)

"A Danger to Herself and Others" by Jennifer Lynn Barnes is excellent, very deep and haunting. It deals with schizophrenia.

Some really great books here. I don’t think I’ve read many books with mental health rep so you’ve given me a place to get started. Thanks!
