Great song, great reaction Zack. Toby rented this Mustang for the shoot which is around LA. Toby filmed, produced and directed which is important since he seems to be investing a lot of time and effort into promoting Angelina. I’m one of Angelina’s biggest fans, and Bad Valentine is one of my favorites. I think the Mustang and the location above LA add nothing to this performance. And I like the musical backing in the jazz cafe better than this version. Angelina “sold” the lyrics so much better in the live version. This looks like going through the motions with frequent camera cuts and, in my opinion, very little connection between the video and the vibe of the song.
Toby is a great songwriter, but leave the visuals to Angelina and the group that has been with her. Look at the masterpiece of Suspicious Minds to see how to connect the lyrics to the visuals. Angelina is great, but this official video is disappointing.
Sorry to say, but I am disapointed, the live version was a thousand times better.
Here the background chorus and beat drowns Angelinas voice and the faster pace of the song takes away the emotions.
It's sounds cheap produced like a million other pop songs, no comparison to the "Old Enough" EP.

Disagree respectably. Think this is what it needs to be for a record or song release. Loved the "live" Cafe version but prefer this upbeat "release ready" version with added instruments and percussion. Just my opinion...respect yours as well.
Hardly a thousand times but so much more could have been done. Hopefully another, more imaginative producer will do later version to showcase the song and the talent more impressively. Note this song is subtitled "Mulholland Drive", so maybe an alternate version is already planned.

I guess they figured this is more promotable. I like the live version also, but this is amazing.
Couple of minor changes to the song from the caffee video but if there was something I would change is the drums, to loud and almost drowned her out a couple times. If this is what it is going to sound like I will still buy it because I have been following her since NGT and will never give up on her.

I’ve seen comments from fans, even on the teaser videos, that are criticizing the production. I think it’s great and perfect for the song. I get a 60s R&B vibe.
I think we need to realize that, unless this song was re-recorded recently, this song was recorded as long as 2 years ago so this was the original intent. Also since Angelina is very involved in the sound of her music it’s safe to assume that she was onboard with the production.
There is a Piano Diaries version coming out next month which I assume will be a more stripped down version. Maybe using the same vocal track

I had the opportunity to speak with AJ at the concert meet and greet. I told her that while she kept telling us how blessed she felt because of all the support from her Angels, we were the blessed ones. I told her how her music soothes my soul and centers me every day. I thanked her for this. Sounds corny, but it's true.

I saw the concert last night and the main takeaways for me seeing her for the first time were number one wow she’s so young and number two. She sounds more incredible live than any production or video or recording and that was such a treat to experience with your own two ears versus hearing it from other people it’s hard to imagine her continuing to make progress with her gift as it is so incredible now. I hope you get to hear her live some day Lauren.

Not a fan of the music and the music is also too loud. I do love the simplicity of the video and not a lot of visuals. She is not on stage so no need for bare feet.

Unfortunately, I believe the producers have unnecessarily added some pitch correction to this song. She doesn’t have final artistic approval like she does with Republic, none of her songs on Old Enough were pitch corrected. Thanks for nothing, Toby! I have a Vocal Pitch Monitor and I could tell right away this was pitch corrected. I listen to Jordan’s voice 8-10 hours a day, and can tell when it doesn’t sound right!
I think this might be for the newer, younger audience. As a 7 - year+ Angel and really old guy, I much preferred the small-stage intro/teaser version with just the violin, cello, and TG on the piano. Fortunately, she's the genius here and I'm sure she's thinking long-term (which wouldn't include me 😊). This was good, and interesting, but I wouldn't choose it over the other version for just listening. The the overbearing beat knocks it out of my playlist.
She's always simple in videos, kinda like that in this one especially. Makes it less anthemy, and more reflective. Not celebrating being a heartbreaker, kinda hurting a bit about it.
I hear so much of the Billie Holiday style jazz that is Angelina's foundation. Then you add in the 'sass'
that Amy Winehouse was known for and the 'from the gut' soul that Janis Joplin was famous for. Add
in Angelina's personal style of inflections as well as controlled power and you wind up realizing this is
something unique in musicality.
