Good Video, the best way is to terminate the open connection with a 50ohm dummy load so the circuit is complete. this should make more sense I believe. You can use the 50ohm dummy for the Nano calibration.
@@viocaia There's a theory you can test then also; As a dummy load is a terminator you should put an attenuator in between. Make a test this way to see if the terminator isn't drawing all power towards itself and if it is better or not to put an attenuator in between. Let's say you have a 3-way splitter but 2 miners, you should put a dummy load on the 3rd port. So what if you put an attentuator of let's say 1dB or 3dB first and then terminate with a dummy load. What are the effects and results?
@@renedevrind1733 Interesting! The problem is the isolation between ports..the miners are shooting each other..invalids of course..Personally not using splitters, this are sent for tests..so far only Acasom was near the specs..
Agreed when I tested the splitter, I used a dummy load and results were food. This works great. I am also using 2 splitters to mine with 3 miners and works really well.

Hi could you pls fill the blank port with 50ohm load. in my case i'm using this device with two antennas (868 seed omni+home made panel) with one miner. 3db loss i calculated with nanovna-h.
Normaly tye Bias Tee is just a power supply device..let's say we have a long wire to antenna..of course the best place for an amplifier is as close to the antenna..so we can use the antenna line for power supply..and here it comes the BT..in front of everything..the best setup is..antenna/cavityfilter (saw..)/amplifier/bias tee (only if the amp is up on the roof!)/splitter..miners..
In fact i did not understand what you are trying to measure, you should use different approach, two interconnected splitters with equal cables with known length and loss, one acting as splitter and another as combiner could tell you more. While taking measurements in both directions if you disconnect one of the cables, the left open ports should be terminated. Ofcourse results should be devided by two, or better use some complex realtime maths, if your VNA support it.
