Can you guys help me out why does it say Cx when the key being hit is D? I'd appreciate it

That is a double sharp C, meaning raising the C twice. The key signature of the song is G sharp minor, where all Cs are already sharped by default. So with the intention of raise it again, we have to call it double sharp C, not D. Hope it helps :)
