Agh, I'm a SUCKER for the dolls that have patches all over their jackets! I really love busy designs. It interests me more when there's more to marvel at. Also Zooey's wedges give me ever after high way too wonderland vibes.
What if the ppl with fantasy skin colors in rainbow/shadow high are actually aliens like the ones from Novi stars

Zooey’s earrings look like a ham radio thing. In particular a J-pole antennae…such a cool reference when paired with the space theme! (Ham radio is frequently in contact with people on the space station)

I am not a big MGA doll collector, I have some but up till this day I continue to say that the best dolls they ever did were Novi stars! And I wish they can re-do them but with the RH/SH bodies and quality!
So good to see the S2 girlies all together! Congrats of finding them all. My faves are Zooey and Monique for sure. Especially Zooey as I love literally everything about her so she's going to be tough to beat. Dia's still my least favourite - looks better than her original promo/stock images but still easily my least fave. I'm so curious to see how these girlies will slot into your shadow high rankings!
The bodysuit actually has full sleeves! I got Dia after seeing this video and was happily surprised to realize her sleeves were just rolled up
I love me some short hair representation because I wish I had short hair but my hair takes forever to grow back. Dia may not be everyone's cup of tea but I'm glad MGA released a doll with short hair especially after MH hasn't been fulfilling the void with Toralei.
Same and I adore that she is taking inspo from Rihanna as well and I feel a lot of ppl don't see that

I think the first time I saw the Shadow High cat character is on Nicoles first outfit. I opened on recently and I was surprised to see it. Love Zooey! Its going to be super hard not to get everyone from this line. I may try to get Zooey first and then see who I can find on sale later on....Oooo....the waiting is going to be hard.

I love this line so much! My favourites are Zooey, Dia and Monique and I'll get them as soon as they are available in my country (the Netherlands, Europe) but that will probably be another few months.
Smiths toys germany already have them on their website (altho not available for delivery *yet)

Monique surprisingly I thought I was gonna be certain Reina was gonna be my fav? But Monique looks absolutely GORGEOUS with the makeup on her eyes and her dress 🥺 her dress it just reminds me so much of Shanelle Onyx I'm loving the very poofy dresses honestly it stands out really well.
Monique and Zooey are definitely my favourites so far but I'll know for sure once I get them in person
Zooey and Dia are the ones I plan to get first, so it was really nice seeing both reviewed in this video.
I know they may not do anything with it, but with the amount of buzz Zooey has generated around Novi Stars I would be surprised if they didn't if they didn't do something. Also the print on her shirt and the artwork in her laptop are new art! They aren't the original art for the series (Novis honestly came out during such a weird era for box art, I'm not surprised that they didn't use the OG images.)
The only thing I don't really like of Zooey's is the shoes. The ties are cute and the style of the shoes is uber Novi Stars but I just don't like them with her overall outfit. She's 100% getting Dia's shoes.
The cat debuted with Nicole but is most prominently featured with the Neon Shadow dolls (I think the one on Nicole's jacket is meant to be a band patch since she's a Neon Shadow fan.)
I'm kind of sad that Dia's mesh bodysuit isn't full sleeves but it's still really cute.
Monique for me. I love her dragon details and i have been looking forward to how they would translate the design

Mm… I’d say the opposite is happening. MGA laid the ground work with campy, fun doll lines like LOL OMG and then high quality, fashion-focused lines like Rainbow High that have set the stage for this decade’s dolls.
Monster High was only able to successfully reboot and Barbie has only been able to increase budget due to MGA’s reinvention of the toy market which Mattel effectively killed after losing Disney Princess.
If MGA brings about something like Zillaz or Novi Stars I doubt it will have much to do with Monster High. Monster High’s influence this time is that RH had to hit a lower price point to be able to compete
@@xCanadensis yeah I just kinda want a fantasy doll line from mga at this point in time. Monster high being back is really good and I love the new dolls, but they don’t have the same level of quality that mga is putting into their doll lines. While shadow high and mermaze are meant to be like fantasy dolls they don’t feel like fantasy in the same way MH, EAH, zillaz and novi stars were able to achieve. I just hope that we get another fantasy doll line soon

@@xCanadensis awe thank you sadly looks like my mint green lady is delayed until tomorrow. I did go to target and had a worker check the dpci sadly they don’t have any yet but I heard Japan gets these 1/6 so maybe that’s when they’ll be online on the Disney store & maybe Target 🤞🤗

I customized my Dia Mante into Ursula from the little mermaid, she worked PERFECTLY for that custom since she has white hair and purple skin. Also, my zooey had so much gel in her hair it was insane! Her ends were solid they were so gelled lol.
The eclipse patch is right side up on my Zooey. I just got her and Dia thanks to your review. They are even better in person. Zooey is my fav but Monique’s make-up is stunning.
Btw Dias mesh body suit is long sleeve you just need to un-bunch the sleeves

these dolls are beautiful i have all 5 ladies but not rex thou this is my favorite shadow high line by far
They are all so impressive, the funny thing is I noticed Dia is priced higher than any of the other dolls which is strange. Honestly one amazing outfit is better than two rubbish outfits. I can’t choose a favorite until I see them all in person, but thank you so much for the amazing reviews. Best wishes always..

The amazing color of Shannel Onyx in series one. I had to buy a Rexx Macqueen from series 2. Zooey is next ...I like they are only $24.99 each not $29.99 each like series one. Onyx was $19.00 on clearance. I assume for the newer releases to be stocked..
Thanks for this great review, I have not taken Zooey out of the box yet, they are both so cute. I love the reference to Novi Stars, I have 2 Novi's in my collection that I found at the Thrift store. I love your excitement for these dolls so much. Ok I just googled Novi Stars and did not realize there were so many out, I recall someone saying they were a small line, there was a pic there of two, one looked like fire and the other ice, they are super cute, kinda sorry I never hooked on these sooner.

The programs are very similar so it's hard to tell with the vague suggestion of the windows layout, but it seems Zooey is using either Photoshop or Illustrator to create a vector of the Novi Stars girl! Vector artwork is usually done with a tablet w/ a screen at a professional level I believe, but it also is possible to comfortably do it with just a mouse, so saying that she is insane and does it with a trackpad isn't that farfetched in reality xD I think the true insanity, is that she doesn't seem to be using any layers...?!?!

I’m kinda glad Zooey is more blue then green cause I’m trying to collect them as a rainbow (I only have so much space and this is the limit I thought I could stick to) and Zoeey is the doll I wanted to be my blue doll cause I already have a green doll. I was kind of afraid she wouldn’t be blue enough even if that’s kinda of silly

It actually is just your Zooey doll, the eclipse embroidery isn't supposed to be upsidedown, so that's pretty cool!!
Zooey is gorgeous and my fave of Series 2. I honestly don't get Dia Mante. What were they going for with her? She's kind of homely to me. I'm happy you like her though.

Just want to say a novi stars re release dolls would be amazing just have to start out with that! Zooey the alien girl is one of the dolls on the top of my list I feel she would be beasties with my MonsterHigh ghouls and Mansters. I think that diaMonte doesn’t have much jewelry because of the diamonds studded bodysuit because they can look over the top in real life so I don’t think that they would want to over do everything and it reads like jewelry too. I’m actually loving the design of most of these dolls so I might just have to get quite a few… still working on SH series 1 though, and of course MonsterHigh is a mandatory part of my doll life, also could we get more sales for mermaze mermaids so my SmartDoll Lagoona Blue and g3 Lagoona can finally get some sea friends. I love them but the tail articulation is not on par with that price tag for waves 1 & 2… definitely needs to be closer to the $25 or less. Also really hope that that the rumor of fin to feet doesn’t happen I just want more articulated tails!

Dia’s sleeves are full length they’re just rolled up
After investigating to see how far they go, mine only go to half forearm and that’s only with pulling at the shoulder seam. Hopefully mine is just flawed in that way, one sleeve does get a bit closer to the wrist but still not quite :(

personally i dont really like dia idk what it is about her, she is very deatailed but js not my fave. but zooey is my favorite shadow high doll of this line and def in the top 5 shadow high dolls of all time shes so pretty and i love the novi star reference and it would be cool if novi stars were brought up in the show and thats how mga brings the doll line back

VERY disappointed SH did two purple dolls for this release. MGA is getting lazy. Dia should have been a fantasy blue like periwinkle.
