Now I remember what it is. I ate it when I was a kid, haven't had it in a very long while, it grew wild climbs on to trees, dug up the roots, steam, eat, it's very hardy, stave off hunger pain for a long time. My survival food, it saved my life. Good plant to grow for emergency food supplies.

What is the difference of this yam and purple yam (real ube)? I saw your other video of purple yam which is a bit different with this one. The purple yam has green vines and lighter green colour leaves. I grew up eating the purple yam, but came across this one, and for some reason when I cooked it, it won't get soften. Not sure where I did wrong.
