Hey I just want to tell that this amazing tab has encouraged me to start learning fingerstyle ukulele. Before i only played songs and chords, but never a piece like that. Thanks for the amazing music and keep doing pieces for ukulele :)
Thank you so much dude, youre giving us people clean and neat tabs for free, ur brilliant in arranging when i want to learn something i always look up on your channel , u deserve a million subscribers dude
This guy is awesome. He has a nice rendition on the ukulele and gives away the tabs in the video. You /could/ piece that together and make your sheet music. I am buying the sheet music to support this guy. He deserves it!
This is so beautiful! I hadn't played ukelele in months and this gave me the motivation to get back to it. It's my second day trying to learn this song and it's going great :)) thank you so much!
I've been trying to learn this since just before lockdown, I've just about got the first part down, but I'm looking forward to being able to play it through :) I'm happy to hear someone tell me what it should sound like lol
Hello from Michigan, USA. I purchased this sheet music from you yesterday. I don't know any of these Chinese songs or TV shows or movies, but the music is great. I bet some of my Chinese friends here at the university know these tunes and they'll be surpised to here them coming from my ukulele. Your playing sounds very clean....keep up the good work!
Thank you for your encouragement. I'm glad that you enjoy playing it. My goal is to produce easy and well-arranged pieces for guitar & ukulele. All the best in your playing :)
Maybe you don't answer specific questions, that's okay. But at measure 16, at beats 1 and 2, which notes are the melody? With reentrant tuning, it's not always obvious, and the sheet music has "stems" up on all the harmony/accompaniment notes. Thanks.
Because of the reentrant tuning, ukulele will sound brighter and happier than guitar (In my personal opinion), which makes it different. In arranging music for ukulele, I will try to put the melody as the last note to sound when playing a group of notes. In measure 16, the melody notes are on the 1st beat (3rd string) and 3rd beat. The 2nd beat is a fill-in harmony. The best way to identify melody notes is to listen to the original soundtrack. Although we might not understand Japanese, but it will be good to hear the music itself.
Ohhhh thank you very much for posting this song, now i feel better and warm every time i play this song :)))))))))))))))))))) (I ve been practicing for a month now and im still stuck haha) also, can i play your tab in my youtube account(chloe aristella lee)? I would give credit in the beginning of my video (Maybe at the end too!) and also put the link in the description :) Stay safe ! And im from malaysia toooo!
Okkkk soooo I got a new string for mah ukulele......it broke....annddd soooo it’s been so long since I played it......but I’ve wanting to try a finger style one......and it’s soooo hard to decide which song to play....but omg this is beautiful...amazing...😍😍😍...ama do this one.....thaaannnkkkkk yooouuuuuuuu (But first I have to figure out how to read a ukulele tabs-3-)
Free TAB for is available at the video, just screenshot from the video (select the best resolution). Tab (PDF) is available at: www.musicnotes.com/l/Rainy-Day-Studio
Rainy Day Studio - Guitar & Ukulele TAB Holy cow it kinda hard to see since its small on my view! I didn't think it was a concert ukulele. So I couldn't see what type exactly x x (I only have a basic knowledge about ukuleles... Idk much about them). It makes such a pretty sound
You can easily differentiate them by counting the number of frets: soprano ukulele has 12-15 frets; concert ukulele has 15-20 frets. The one I used had 20 frets.
There are no fixed rule in ukulele playing. For myself, I used "p" to play multiple notes (unless the notes are to be strummed quickly, then i used "i" finger). For single notes, if the notes falls on 4th and 3rd strings then I often used "p"; if they falls on 2nd and 1st strings, then sed "p". But there are cases where "p" have to play 2nd or even 1st string, to suit some rhythm pattern. Same case with "i", which sometimes has to play 3rd string. You can watch other great masters play, then try with different fingerings. Later, you might develop your own fingering that suits you best.
It actually showed in the first bar: For multiple notes, roll down with right hand thumb (p). For single notes, either pluck downward with p or pluck upward with index finger (i). This is two-fingered technique. Of course, there are many other ways to play ukulele.
@@c4nned The numbers at the bottom are the left-hand fingering: 1 for index finger, 2 for middle finger, 3 for ring finger and 4 for little finger. Cheers :)
Ukulele strings are tuned to GCEA (the G is a high-pitch G), while guitar’s highest sounding four strings are DGBE. If we treat the high-pitch G of ukulele as a lower G, their tunings have the same interval: perfect 4th (GC ; DG), major 3rd (CE ; GB) and perfect 4th (EA ; BE).
@@rainydaystudio77 alright the intervals rendering is okay, but why modulate while on uk? Couldn't you use the same tonality ? If you superpose the two versions you made what would it sound ?
If insist on arranging it in the same key for both instruments, sometimes one of them would become very hard to play or with unsatisfying sounding. In my personal opinion, both instruments are not an easy instruments for most people, my goal is to simplify the arrangements to make them more accessible. Musical key is just one of the element in music, there are much more than that: expression, dynamics, phrasing, harmony etc.
Try to play the song very slowly: one note / one group of notes at a time. Focus on short passages at first, for example practise only bars 1-4. Make sure you can play bars 1-4 well before moving on to bar 5, and so on.
thank you for giving me something to do during the quarantine
😀👍

Nice suggestion, looking forward
You're the best :)
This sounds amazing! Thanks so much. Any suggestions on how to tweak this play on Low G?
If there’s any MELODY NOTE that are falls on the 4th string, you will need to play that note on other string (1st, 2nd or 3rd strings).
Awesome

What brand of soprano ukulele is this? It sounded so peaceful and pretty! You also did a wonderful job with this revision.
It is a concert size ukulele : aNueNue Lani II CE ukulele

It is a cut-away at the body, may be it makes it looked small.

Thank you for chords. Could you write the brand of your ukulele?
aNueNue Lani II CE ukulele
Thank you from Turkey.

I always use standard tuning.

@@rainydaystudio77 Thank you! :)

If you could do "Bygone Days" from Porco Rosso i'd be the happiest man on Earth !
Thanks for your suggestion :)
very nice. can you make "Dango Daikazoku" ukulele version. it's a theme from Clannad.
So far I have made a guitar version.
it's okay.. i will wait for it :)
So um, at the risk of sounding stupid, can i ask on what pattern you pluck the strings? Or should this be, like, however sounds right?

can you explain how the right hand numbers works????
It actually showed in the first bar: For multiple notes, roll down with right hand thumb (p). For single notes, either pluck downward with p or pluck upward with index finger (i). This is two-fingered technique. Of course, there are many other ways to play ukulele.
i mean like the numbers on the bottom
(im using a diffrerent account)
but thank you for explaining!!!!:)
ohhh sorry it should be the left hand
and i love your channel you are like the best youtube for ukelele tutorial
( plus im Chinese) :))))

Very nice but I don't understand tabs!!! (cries) :
How to read ukulele tab tutorial: m.ruclips.net/video/D84Sl1kW5fc/видео.html
Why do you have 2 versions of this song?
This is a revised, newer version.
Why are guitar and uk tabs not on same tonality?
Ukulele strings are tuned to GCEA (the G is a high-pitch G), while guitar’s highest sounding four strings are DGBE. If we treat the high-pitch G of ukulele as a lower G, their tunings have the same interval: perfect 4th (GC ; DG), major 3rd (CE ; GB) and perfect 4th (EA ; BE).
