In standard centrifugal ejection juicers, greens usually have a small amount of blade contact time, which means they dont get stuck, but are ejected before fully juiced. The Omega comes with a pulp catch bin, but not a juice catch cup. The pulp on the Omega BMJ is dryer than the lalanne and breville in my tests when juicing carrots.
Juicers are not optimal for juicing bananas and strawberries. I would recommend juicing the carrots and apples and then using a blender to blend in the banana and strawberries if that is the recipe you desire. I would recommend a centrifugal ejection juicers, which the Omega BMJ330 is.
Thats a tough question. If you were juicing MOSTLY carrots and celery, I think the BMJ330 or the Lequip 215XL. If you were juicing mostly spinach, (and other leafy greens), I would go with the Omega VRT350 HD. Each juicer has their pros and cons. I did do a comparison video between the Omega BMJ330 vs Omega VRT350 so you can see the difference.
Great video, I need help choosing a good and costly juicer, planing to use it on a daily base and mostly for carrots and oranges. Which one will be the best to choose?
Yes, I do juice fresh ginger sometimes. These centrifugal ejection style will juice ginger in small amounts. Check my video where I juiced ginger in 3 different style juicers.
One important thing to note is inside the bowel, the Omega has a bevelled edge, which makes cleanup very easy. The Jack LaLanne juicer has 90 degree corners, making it really hard to clean, and easier for gunk to build up there.
I am borrowing a Jack Lalanne juicer, noticed all those inferior features. Plastic and vibration just don't mix! I hope I don't break the borrowed one before I can get my own! So many of the websites selling juicers, don't show the break down of cleaning and what the integral parts are made of. Nice vid!
wow! glad i watched this before i bought a jack lalanne! hmm now i really want the omega. Im going to be juicing mostly fruits and want to make breakfast drinks for everyday mornings like apples bananas strawberries etc with some vegetable components like carrots added in. would you recommend the omega?
The BMJ is much better than the Jack Lalanne, Its a good juicer for a wide-mouth ejection juicer. That being said, you want to purchase a juicer that will best match the produce you want to juice. For example, if you wanted to juice mostly leafy greens, the big mouth juicer would not be the best choice. The big mouth is good at juicing things like carrots, apples, celery, and other harder type veggies and fruits.
Thanks for doing this one. The Lalane will make you angry. I borrowed a stainless one for a while. After you juice carrots in fit or a while it will not even juice the carrots anymore. It just smokes them which as you no is no good. I have a Kenmore Juicer that works better. I do have a Omega 1000 also not a big mouth. I picked it up about a year ago at a auction brand new in the box for $10. I have not figured out how to clean the screen efficiently or I would use it more
A few questions: When pushing greens through the shoot, does it get stuck or jam through the Omega juicer? Does the Omega come with a catch cup/bowl? How dry is the pulp when using the Omega juicer? Thanks.
I have a 1st gen JLL juicer, and the screw-on shredder eventually warps, which means that you get a lot of pulp in your juice. It's going to be replaced next year by anything else. Wet pulp, underpowered, and a pain to clean, especially if you misplace the tool.
Please see: watch?v=CKT3JVXbhIg which may help in your selection. I would go with a centrifugal ejection style machine or the Vertical Auger Style machine. Each has their pros and cons.
I love when you do comparisons.. for some reason it's so fun to watch! Thanks for the videos!

This is the Omega Big Mouth Juicer model BMJ330. It is different than the Omega Vert Juicer Model VRT330

In your opinion, what the best juicer for both leafy greens and hard veggies and fruits?

I personally like the Omega VRT350 HD for juicing leafy greens and harder veggies.

The big mouth will juice those items. That being said, it will do fairly good with broccoli and spinach, but not yield that much on spinach.

Jack Lalanne FAIL
Jack Lalanne power juicer is really useless!
