If he didn't evolve why is he being considered mainstream, why did SMD sell over 30K copies first week (ion like to bring up album sales but that's still a substantial reminder)

I feel like a lot of the time people confuse the older fans wanting music with more substance with them wanting him to be depressed again but I swear for the most part his lyrics just used to be more interesting and thought out. As an older fan it is really cool to see him blowing up and getting recognition that he deserves but that recognition is for music that’s objectively way different than his older stuff, not to say that he can’t grow or that he shouldn’t but he really grew to just make stuff with a more mainstream appeal. Not to mention when you compare the new with the old his breath work and delivery is nowhere near as good as it used to be. I’m not one to be hating on rappers for going through changes especially him cuz he used to be my favorite rapper for a long time but I don’t think it’s wrong to point out the differences and attempts at mainstream appeal. You also really don’t see most rappers responding to hate the way that lucki does and he’s said how he used to troll people on Twitter when he was a teenager so he’s gotta know responding to it will only cause more hate, I think him responding really just shows he knows there’s something to what people are saying about the new music.

The issue with Lucki is not him changing his style, his music has clearly dropped in quality. (SMD is good tho)
His keeps spamming these low effort low energy flows with very little catchy bars. (serious question when was the last time he dropped a funny lil bar like “got it out the mud so i’m pouring sprite through it”. And it doesn’t help how limited his vocal range is, Like that ‘All Love’ single he dropped sounds like he doesn’t even want to be in the studio.

Been listening to lucki since like 2014/15 and I loved every single thing up until maybe 2022 when it got kinda hit or miss. But even his bad shit is still average AT WORST. I would’ve really liked for him to continue the “almost there” sound but instead he started hopping on purely marching band beats and sounding like an Atlanta Veeze(even tho he from Chicago)
there’s an unspoken issue that only OG fans deal with.. a lot of fans myself inc. want the new music/him to evolve but if you fr been listening for awhile You know we still don’t got Overseas, Flute, etc. Lucki has 4+ albums worth of music that is timeless that we still don’t have and the 1-2 grails on albums are great but we gotta starve 90% of the year unless Underw6ter stops playing around but He’s been unreliable since he leaked Fake it. People who want him to be on his old sound now are a diff breed no satisfying them, but it would be nice to get actual music and not snippets 90% of the time.
