Thane, the astronomer in you would've been ecstatic, because here in northeast Ohio we got to experience the 2024 solar eclipse at 100% totality!!! It was truly breathtaking, and since we were essentially in the direct path of the eclipse, totality lasted a full 4 1/2 minutes! Venus and Jupiter could be seen with the naked eye outside the ring of diamond. All seen from our recliners on our back deck. It rained that morning, then clear skies for the eclipse. Perfect conditions, and wish you both could have seen it. 218 years since the last time it happened here! Next one will be 2099. Doubt I will see it 😃
Hi Paul, ya I was real temped to take the day off and drive somewhere deeper into the state where the path was going to cross over for full totality, but decided to spend the limited time I have accumulated so far for an extra day off over a three day weekend, making it a four day weekend, out at the Mountainair, NM property getting more things done. Just finished yesterday getting the new electric boiler installed. We have heat! This house has been without heat most of the winter, very scary leaving it that way, but no burst pipes and the house survived. We are enjoying this new boiler as we got some other related things with the manifold valves fixed making the whole system perform much better. Hope you got some good pictures? Cheers, Thane & Judy.
