I'd call you a textbook student. Starting out on something small and getting familiar with just "riding a bike" is a step that too many overlook. And buying a "middleweight" for your first "big" bike is also something that others foolishly ignore. And just to make it the trifecta of all things "good learner", you're taking your new bike to the carpark for its maiden voyage, just like I did with my new bike last year, when I got it. By the way, I learned to ride when I was 12 or so and have been licensed for the last 25 years and am 53. And before I go, I'm still popping into the carpark every week or two for a bit of practice braking and doing U turns.
Thanks for the content, keep up the good work. I'd say, "good luck", but you're making your own. Enjoy.

Grats on getting the 500 over the 300. You would have outgrown the 300 in 6 months. The Rebel 500 is the perfect first bike IMHO.

Once you get good at slow speed manuvers and progessive braking, your confidence will go up in every aspect of riding.
You will develope spidy senses along the way. When a dum-dum does something you are on it well ahead of time.

Riding pants are shipped and on their way, shoes are Dexter 2 by Bilt, so technically meant for riding but I'm definitely getting some taller boots soon :) Thank you for the comment!

I really like the honda rebel but I'm afraid I would look ridiculous since I'm 6ft.

My fiance is 6ft and looks a little silly on it, he said it’s very uncomfortable because of his height

i am 5,11 with a bit short legs. the rebel 500 is a bit cramped. But, the 1100 really feels bigger, find a dealer that has one and try it.
