- So I watched the Escaping Twin Flames documentary on Netflix and it's safe to say that it triggered me just a little bit haha. While I avoided being indoctrinated into cults, I do have one experience I'm sharing here.
This video is just a bit of an afterthought after watching the documentary and ranting more about the toxicity of the New Age Spirituality community.

It’s interesting she starts by saying she dodged being in a cult. But then goes on to describe her feelings being in a band cult. It’s a great example of how easy it is to be subconsciously involved in these groups.

I was a spiritual teacher for years. I stopped for many reasons. Most of them fueled by integrity. Most students need trauma and grief therapy, not spiritual practices. There are a lot of vulnerable people. Most of the new age is a nonsense business.

I grew up in Sedona AZ and the shit I saw and heard could be a book. Never been involved in a cult but grew up with a lot of people who are part of them.

This was the point I was trying to make. I avoided more 'traditional' examples of a cult, but was totally blind to how culty the band I was into was. It's FAR too easy to be involved in cults of any kind without even knowing!
