What I really liked about this drama other than the wonderful acting was, they took time for relationships to evolve realistically and not speed through. They showed the growth of Lingyi in trusting and falling in love for the first time. Also, of Shiyiang also trusting and not only concentrating on finding her mother's killer, but realizing her husband was honorable and that she could have a chance at real love and happiness
I agree, the writers took the time this show needed for the relationships to grow and be believable. People take time to change and real relationships take time to grow. The human heart is both resilient and very fragile. I prefer slow burn stories like this because they are much more believable. The acting was wonderful, the costumes wonderful, the stories shared were interesting and believable. I liked the growth arcs that most of the characters went through.
This is actually the first time that I feel sorry for Erniang. She's lived in hell for a long time. Now that her husband is dead...she doesn't have to worry about being abused anymore. He was a jackass so his death isn't a surprise. Lingyi can't escape his feelings for Shiyi. He's thinking about her taking care of him. The little smile he gave was very telling. He loves his wife. Their relationship is still strained at this point. Shiyi is going to have to make the first move. She stopped herself from going to him to ask for help. She doesn't want him to feel as though she is using him. They really need to get their act together/start talking to each other again. Shiyi has to be the one that goes to him because she was at fault this time. She let her emotions get ahead of her common sense. Hopefully they can get through this rough patch soon. It's time for them to be on the same page again.
@@HoaDieu-sn3se what I like is that she learned from her mistake when she thought that Lingyi was responsible for her mother's death. Now she's committed to their lives together/she trusts him completely. She doesn't have to worry about him turning into her father. He's a better man than her father could ever hope to be...despite the fact that he's mad at her...he's still protecting her...it's something that he father never did for her. She's one lucky lady.

@@HoaDieu-sn3se it didn't help that she had an idiot for a father....lol Her mother raised her well especially since they were evicted from the Luo family and had to struggle to survive. I applauded her mother for guiding her in the right direction. Shiyi has a great moral compass. I agree with you...their personalities are very similar so it really made it easier for them to stand together as a unit...especially after the misunderstanding about her mother's death was cleared up. What I actually enjoy most about their relationship is the nonverbal communication they developed with each other....a wink and a nod is all it took.
