      Yep. Bambu definitely gave the industry a kick squarely and firmly in the arse and now they're all scrambling to catch up. This is great for consumers. The problem is that all these other companies are scrambling, so design flaws make it to the final product, the products end up rushed to market, firmware bugs, etc.

    Thank you for the review, I almost bought an older version of anycubic a couple times. The dryer function is cool, I am looking at designing a mod for my current AMS for that. I am interested in how multi color prints on cardboard spools work over time, bambu chokes on cardboard in the AMS. But wow what is with the Bambu hate club? I am coming from really old qidi and longer printers i bought a P1S combo. You could probably call me a fan boy now, but that is just because I can print stuff fast, and easy, I am not spending all my time upgrading just trying to get a decent print or get hair faster than molasses pours. Bambu is just FAST, really really good prints, problem free it just works, the remote app and other things are unbelievably handy. I have printed 10x the stuff with my p1s compared to the years with my others, its crazy better. I am currently printing a 6ft STARGATE that i would never consider on my other printers, because it would take probably 6 months or more to finish and not look as good.

    Good overview, but some bias.
    Some fact checking: You can print with bambu printers offline; it's called LAN mode. It only uses your local wifi, or you can just print with the SD card. Your security concerns are unfounded, and unnecessary fear mongering.
    With the A1 you can buy individual nozzles, they don't seem to be available for the kobra 3.
    You compared the kobra 3 to the X1c; not very fair to kobra 3. The X1c can print materials like nylon, ABS, ASA, polycarbonate, and has an active carbon filter for those materials.
    There's obviously a bunch of software differences as well; I'm not sure how the kobra 3 handles it, but with the A1 AMS lite, you can have it move from one spool to the next if they're the same color and the first runs out of filament.
    I like that the ACE can dry filament, but it's only really suitable for PLA or TPU; anything else requires higher than 55c; I print with a lot of PETG and that dries at 65c.
    My own take on the kobra 3 combo is that their color unit is nicer than the bambu, but the printer is not nearly as well-tuned as the A1. It's good, just not great. Not even remotely close to a "bambu killer". Reliability, ease of use and user experience are all areas that bambu focused on that the other manufacturers are still playing catch-up on. I have two A1s and an A1 mini and have had zero issues with any of them, and zero tinkering or tuning; just adjusting slicer settings for the filament being used, changing nozzles for different materials like carbon fiber PETG and it's off to the races.
    Like I said in another comment, I'm glad so many other companies are chasing bambu's success, that's better for all of us who use the printers, they just need to fine-tune all aspects of owning a 3d printer; making decent hardware is easy enough, but on its own it's not enough. I'm looking forward to the creality K2.
    If you'll compare a bambu printer, the A1 would be a direct comparison.

    • @fpvbuilds2023
      @fpvbuilds2023 27 дней назад

      @@NWGR thanks for the long well thought out comment, my security concerns are valid though, other creators have covered this and you can do your owm research on the information, if you dont hook up the bambu machine to the internet then it wont ever update. Again everyone is entitled to thier own opinions, the title is more about the price than anything when comparing machines.

    • @NWGR
      @NWGR 27 дней назад

      @@fpvbuilds2023 Well I mean, even when directly comparing the kobra 3 combo to the a1 combo, the price difference is marginal; $40 right now, and when neither are on sale, that difference drops to only $10. Believe me, I've done plenty of research on all the privacy concerns because it was something I worried about as well, and by and large, they're unfounded and typical "they're watching" fear mongering. For the vast majority of users, none of that will have any effect on actual usage, even in print farm applications. And like I said, you can print without ever connecting online, and you connect just to update the fw and then go right back offline.
      The whole privacy things is overblown, especially for something like a 3d printer, when there's all these data-leeching apps we use every single day, multiple times over. So again, the kobra 3 is a very competent competitor to the bambu A1, it's just a bit behind in some areas. They did nail the ACE though; that's a really nice setup and better than bambu's AMS lite.
      I'm all for competition, but for me to switch or consider another brand, there needs to be a better reason than "they're not bambu".

    3d printer companies always release their products before they are ready. It still has a long ways to go on the software side, which they will drop support by next year when they released another not ready to be released product. At least bwmbulab will support their printers for years to come. With their kobra 2 pro, they locked the firmware which made you use their app and slicer. I'm not going to go through that again.
