I play this deck, but with a few tweaks to train cards: 1 leaf, no sabrina, no potion 1 buddy expeditioner 2 xspeed The reason is that i made this tweaks (have been playing thus deck a bit the last couple of weeks) is because you often need to send in melmetal with a Giovanni or Blu, so you can't rely only on leaf for retreat, plus when retriting meltan or mew it is a waiste. Buddy also often comes in clutch when you start with mew a need it to tank to reset the Hp, IMHO if you play 2 mew in a deck you almost always want 1 buddy.
The worst matchup is actually Pikachu just because they start attacking so fast. You would think that'd make Blaine a bigger issue, but Blaine only hitting for 40-90 without a lucky Blaine takes fire too long to do anything
Pikachu needs some effort to break through Druddigon, and if they don't do this fast enough, they just get out-traded by Melmetal who oneshots the Pikas. The worst matchup is actually Moltres -Arcanine since neither Melmetal nor Mew EX trades favourably into Arcanine, especially if Canine starts using Giovanni
Finally people recognizing melmetal 😭 I just finished 9 and 1 session this evening. This deck is disgusting. Been using since druddigon got added. Nice vid bruh. I replace blue with one budding expeditioner and one x speed for when the starting hand gods decode to fuck me over and place mew and supporters 😭
I wouldn't call it bad, but it's poorly positioned in the meta right now. I do wish that Moltres read something like "attach 1 fire energy to a fire Pokemon. Flip a coin, if heads, attach an additional energy."
It’s good for what it does. All it’s really meant for is ramp and it ramps potentially your whole bench, stealing you multiple turns, for 1 fire energy. Even getting 1 energy is an advantage as far as resources goes. It’s not a strong attacker and relies on RNG but within the decks it’s clearly designed to play with, it’s useful,if not a must run.
Is it really bad? I don't think so, you flip 3 coins and so you have 8 possible results. 3/8 of the time you get 2 Energy 3/8 it's 1 Energy 1/8 it's 3 Energy And last 1/8 is 0 Energy So you have 75% chance to get 1/2 energy, or 87,5% if you include highroll too, that's 1/2/3 Energy for free You only have 12,5% chance to get 0 Energy.. However, thanks to Leaf now, and XSpeed, it FEELS like Moltres generate even more energy, those cards cheating out energy when you retreat are so good. If something, I feel like Moltres will be a card that will have a long lifespan, before powercreep hits it, but for now it's a stable in fire decks
I understand how it works and I know that right now it's a must for fire deck but none of you talked about the fact that it is a Ex card that make you vulnerable on active position and end your turn trying to generate energy for a deck that burns alot of energy. Well, we don't have any relevant fire deck right now.
@@irwingbrasil EX doesn't matter, burning energy doesn't matter. What matters is that it's weak to lightning, and Gyarados usually gets online faster. It's poorly positioned against 2 of the 3 best decks in the format. That's why it's not doing well. Edit: And Mew EX made the Mewtwo matchup much worse for Charizard. So actually 3 of the 3 best decks.
Man you waiting for people to like comment subscribe was hilarious, thanks for the shoutout
Could you belive I was looking for a good Melmetal deck just a couple hours ago? Thanks for the video!

Wow, can’t believe I didn’t notice the media player. Thank you.
@@u4dove717 no worries
Moltres ex is a bad card, red needs a better way to produce energy, need to be more reliable or less risky.
