I come to this channel because of your great gameplay, your great commentary, and the interesting decks. Plus, watching you beat simic flash is icing on the cake. I beat simic flash with a green stompy deck today. Shifting ceratops was an all-star. Great video as always!
Had a lot of fun with this deck so far, thanks for posting this! (although had to make a couple techs due to lacking some cards) actually had some sneaky good wins with End-Raze Forerunners and God-Eternal Rhonas!
When Eldraine drops can you make a Food Token based Tezzeret Master of the Bridge deck also know as Tezzeret Foodie of the Bridge,Tezzeret Master of the Chefs,Tezzeret Etherium Chef,New Phyrexia's Kitchen hosted by Tezzeret,Tezzeret Master of the Fridge,Fooderet,Affinity Nightmares,Food Master,(Lasers,Drain ins,and Dies!),Sultai/Dimir/Esper Foodies,Don't eat my cake,Tezzeretti Master of Spaghetti,Tezze"Rekt" that Hoagie Sandwich,FIRE THE FOOD LASER!,and Cake and Death. At 14:31 you say that frilled mystic can block the ceratops (or i'm hearing can and you say can't :D ), but no he cannot block it cause of prot blue as frilled is both blue and green.
Any thoughts on Vivien, Arkbow champion for this and other Gruul Decks? I've been sideboarding big creatures for her to pull out, priming my hand for Ilharg--or even pulling out Ilharg himself--leaving room for Rhythm of the Wild, etc. in the main deck.
This face and intonation about mill were cool. You, Legenvd and Primal are best mtg youtubers by far, so glad to see you in the ocean of "competitive" players.
CGB, I really enjoy Gruul. I did a variant of this deck including 4 Growth-Chamber Guardian. While it may sound like it has no synergy, it came really handy in control Matchups. Great content. Cheers.
that bug happened to me but it was a little different. every card anyone played, or ability they triggered, caused this sound of like coins spilling and the card was animated with these sparkles and fireworks around it. it was this total clusterfuck of sparkles and coin noises and i just so happened to be playing an artifact miracle spam deck, and my opponent pretty quickly conceded lol
I don't know who is more of a monster. You, for making this deck. Or me, for playing Simic Flash. Okay, it's probably me. (Edit: its really disappointing that each flash deck you encountered missed their fourth land drop tho. No doubt the Ceratops would have still gotten the beats, but it kinda felt unbalanced there.)
@@covertgoblue Oh I miss land drops all the time, I just meant both players who were playing Flash against you just happened to miss their fourth land drop each game, putting them a turn behind and allowing you to smash in with more ease.
Hey CGB, thank you so much for your videos, I have learned so much from watching you play and hearing you talk about Standard. I'm wondering if I'm misunderstanding the rules text on "Nullhide Ferox" but in your game against Mono-Black, was there a reason that you chose not to discard Ferox to the Fenlurker trigger? Wouldn't that cause Ferox to enter the battlefield for free? Thanks in advance CGB or anyone else who has the answer
To pick on the entering discussion: I enjoy your videos because i like your commentary and just you in general, while also being actually good. I enjoy watching janky decks because I like having fun when I play. I enjoy watching meta decks because I like playing competitively. You do videos everyday and those decks are 90% of the time with decks that are at least tuned to compete if they are *jank* and I can't really think of one I didn't enjoy, having seen the last 50 min. Btw big Lolz for the Chandra Sound effect bug at the start haha
@CGB, you missed lethal at 23:47 whenever you could have just hasted spellbreaker at him whenever he countered your spell. Good games regardless, enjoy the extra like.
thank you for bringing justice to arena. can't wait for nexus to rotate. tried some bo3 and it's everywhere. bo1 is filled with simic flash so i play an izzet niv mizzet deck where i also spam counterspells until i get up to that un-counter-able niv
Been having a lot of fun with a similar list I made recently. You should try running 4x voracious hydra instead of hellkite. After losing ghalta, voracious hydra is the next best option for late game high damage trample with haste. Assuming you have rhythm down of course. Hydra also provides early game removal if need be
I love destroying Simic Flash with my Gruul deck. In paper, I have a 100% win rate, and Arena it's like 80%. Such a frustrating deck that it's immensely satisfying to smash it. I imagine we'll see a lot of it post rotation, so I'll be keeping Gruul close to fuck them up should there be a lot of it.
A lot of brutal decks to face right now. Simic is one of them, Then there is Oko Nissa and that flying monstrosity they hang with. So hard, qq, qq. And thank you for beating the cr*p out of simic flash. We hates it. nasty tricksies counterspellses
I always keep a few high mana spells in my deck that cant be countered like Banefire and some counters of my own like Ionize. Then wait for them to use their mana and either counter them or put my creatures and spells out. They are annoying but I usually win.
While good on its own, Harpooner isn't a great choice in this deck since Raptor will most likely* kill it once it enters the battlefield. Zhur-Taa Goblin can enter with a +1/+1 counter from its Riot ability, allowing it to survive from the Raptor's trigger. Then again, the Goblins don't benefit from the Raptor's cost reduction for creatures, while the Harpooner does. Overall, I personally play my Gruul list with 3 Zhur-Taa Goblins (no Raptors) mainboard and 3 Kraul Harpooners in the sideboard for Cavalcade decks, UW Flyers and other decks that have problematic flyers. * - I'm not 100% sure but I think you can stack the triggers so your Harpooner fights a flyer before the damage from Marauding Raptor hits it.
Has anyone else experienced the Chandra bug? Considering that it's pretty likely that the Rakdos player had her in his opening hand this seems concerningly exploitable.
CGB I would love to see some draft videos. If you don't like drafting or don't have the time thats totally understandable but I feel like noobs like me could learn a lot from you.
i find simic flash stuggling against temur wilderness (since you can just draw during their end step and basically do more CA than them and play removals during their turns, also nivmizzet, nivmizzet usualy insta wins vs flash)
Because you don't always have Raptor and the early game matters. With Raptor Zhur-Taa still survives; and Pelt Collector, as the last Simic Flash game failed to show, can turn into a game-ending pump spell.
Hey CGB, maybe you could rank your decks in a Fun/Competitiveness axis so people know what to expect out of that particular video and they complain less. Maybe, it's just a thought. Also, when your opponent pulls a Chance for Glory out of nowhere and wins, it's imperative you shout "M-Masaka!"
All I want is to stop seeing the decks you play 3X the rate they normally get played every time a video gets released. That's not your fault, I just wish people were more creative.
@@covertgoblue I hear your point, its always fun trying out decks one doesn't normally play. But, if you are showing off a deck that won a tourney or something.. It's not really NEW, its just good. Erick Herrera I mean I like that it exits I just don’t want the meta to be so slow or that the mill is so fast that it’s a T1 deck.
It's always a good back up condition in a control deck. Milling yourself for dredge though, always better
