Again some very useful food for thought. I have found that it is the trips away where something goes wrong which are the most memorable and, in retrospect, the most satisfying.
All good pointers, carrying tools for park brake issue, fit your Spyder with emergency release cables for seat and frunk. Great work John keep them coming:)
Excellent video, sure covered a great number of the issues that most of us have or will run into out on the road. Enjoyed it and got some ideas from it. Thanks John
Great topic and good common sense information. I am fairly certain that a good number of your viewers already know that info and have the mindset needed to adapt and overcome adversity. The sad part is that there are a lot of people that have no preparation mindset . Hopefully, they are watching, listening and learning
Great tips John I have toured for 50 years on 2 wheels including Mexico and Baja plus Canada and over time have used most of these tips. But it was a good refresher and now I have went to a new 2020 Spyder RT Limited.
Hi John thanks for all the great videos. Used them to help me plan an execute a trip to Mount Rushmore an the badlands of South Dakota I live in franklin ohio just north of Cincinnati. So Th is was a 3000 mile trip on my 2014 spyder rt limited an freedom trailer . Nita an I did the black hills Custer state park Deadwood Mount Rushmore an crazy horse. We had no problems of any kind an am looking forward to are next highway adventure. Thanks again for all the great advise
Heading out on our own asphalt odyssey next week. Black hills, Big Horns, Yellowstone, Tetons. Patiently waiting for my tire kit from JP cycle to arrive today. Just made a tool kit too. This video was timed perfectly and reaffirmed my planning and prep. Thanks John! Keep at it.
Miriam Bryant and John...my gawd, just got home, Big Horns, Bear tooth Highway, Yellowstone, dipped into Idaho and crossed the Tetons and everything so cool in between the various mountain ranges. 1948.8 bike miles of the finest countryside the USA had to offer. We met so many great people. You and John offer glimpses of what it feels like and sounds like. I can tell you when you do it for yourself, you realize how small you are in this world and how blessed you are to experience it. I took Johns OCD planning and it all worked. Absolutely perfect trip. It’s time to clean off 8 days of bugs and grime off the bike. Ugggh. Thanks guys for all your videos and know it’s inspiring, even for H-D riders. At the end of 300-400 miles I can tell you hands down that your Spider is being considered for super long haul trips. The fatigue factor really starts to set in about then. I loathe slow speed in town maneuvering when I am exhausted. See ya on the next adventure!!!!
Super video, certainly can relate to your preparedness after spending many years as remote forest ranger before days of Cellphone, GPS and modern day portable radio.
Good morning. That was by far one of the better videos. When a person thinks of all the things that could go wrong it is mind boggling. Thanks for the info that will help greatly in our next adventure. Later.
What helped me on one trip is to keep an emergency credit card hidden ON THE BIKE. I lost my wallet on a road trip back in 2016 but keeping that other card hid, saved my butt.
I have been talking to my wife about getting ready for the cooler weather and what we should have with us. Saw this vid pop up in my RUclips list and decided to watch again. Good reminders to stay prepared. I guess I missed it the first viewing, congrats on being 1 for 1 on CPR. I am 3 for 3 on the Heimlich maneuver. Saving someone is a wonderful feeling. Just think, your information could help someone you never meet. Hope all is well.
Always love your tips and great info. Apparently "OCD" works to your advantage, I guess. Lol. 😁. Stay Alert. Ryde Safe in a fun way. Thanks for sharing. Keep on Spydering. 😎.
Good food for thought. Thanks John. Stay healthy and give Miriam a hug for us. Ray & Linda

John, great travel advice about planning for the unexpected. Very informative. Thanks.
Very informative video! I haven't heard anyone say, "Embrace the Suck," since I left the Army.
