I wanted to see the disbelief on his face when he saw that he had 25fps with a 7900xt.
Just a tip for AMD users (maybe Nvidia as well, though they don't seem as affected by it), basically toggle "Advanced Graphics" off or as low as possible. Should skyrocket fps while still looking good enough. It'll sacrifice shadows heavily, but that's the price you pay lol. I'm unsure whether it's just AMD or what but something about rendering those shadows hurts AMD GPUs heavily.
I need to retest this on my AMD 7900XTX 7800x3d
My 58003dx with the 7900xt gets about 117-120 fps on high 1080p. Game still looks great.
Playing at 1080p with a 7900 xt is crazy

Well i can tell you what you will get as 7800 xt is pretty much the same as 6800 and I get 30 fps at 1440p auto settings mix of medium and low maybe some high and at 1080p it's about 40 fps that is with a Ryzen 9 5900x @@dodialshakka8590

Very demanding! I have the same Gpu ! With i7 8700k! But not tested yet !
To get this game running well on this card, here are the settings that worked for me. If you want a sharp image how I like. Set your resolution to 1800p resolution scale to 60%, then I use rsr to make it look less blurry. The settings I use are everything on medium except the following: Advanced Graphics on high, global illumination on high so you get light bounce and the textures on epic. For me without textures on epic they look glitched. This gets me around 60fps. The game runs worse during night time for some reason but runs better in the middle of a dense forest, wtf. But with vrr it is playable, If you want closer to 60, turn global illumination setting to medium but you dont get light bounce if your ok with that. The game will get optimized according to the devs so we'll see.
I got a refund for now I will pick it up again sometime in late November or early December

@@frogboyx1Gaming You should of just kept it, the game will probably go a lot up in price and there is more optimisations now. I have less than the min requirements and I get 50-60 fps

The whole point of ascended was the graphics, if you need to mod it to look like shite, then what is even the point..

Bc it runs on gpu if you're above 1080p. Cpu is for 1080p
I never even got that low running highest settings at 4k with my 4070. I'll never buy an rtx 4090 unless it hits below $900

@@frogboyx1Gaming On the Nvidia platform comes the frame generation option, with AMD, that's why you don't have to activate it from the AMD driver and you will see the changes there.

Not being funny but no one should be playing an early access game and expect great performance right off the bat.
Let alone why play on epic settings when the graphical changes are negligable and the performance hit is significant. Does not makes sense at all to do this at all.
Whilst a GPU like the 7900 xt should at minimum be hitting 60 fps at 1440p it is still very early days and can only get better.

Playing devils advocate here, but I feel like we expect a little too much at this point. for a game like ark 1080p is fine and high graphics look just as nice. Hell you could probably run ultra at 1080p. I feel that the hate on the optimization is founded but exaggerated. I can run ark at 40fps on medium/low with a pc from 2016 that has a 1660ti and a Ryzen 5 1600. As a community we have been spoiled by what modern hardware can do, it wasn't long ago that 1080p was the norm. Maybe im just not picky who knows. side note no one runs ark on max unless its pve XD. Very informative video though
