  • Hurricane Ian made landfall in Port Charlotte and Charlotte County Florida as a Category 4 Hurricane. The most damage of Hurricane Ian spreads from Naples to Sarasota Florida with flooding, trees down, no power, no cell service, etc.
North Port Florida took a large hit when Hurricane Ian made landfall as a Category 4 Hurricane. The biggest question is, "What will North Port Florida do next?" It is time to pick up the pieces and re-build this amazing community.
We are starting a "Build Back North Port" campaign to help our local community re-build after this devastating natural disaster. This campaign is going to include attracting investors to help re-build the housing community, highlight local businesses to bring in more customers, share the newest updates in the area for tourists, and show people how they can pitch in to help us re-build North Port.
As the weeks and months go on we will be giving you updates on North Port and the surrounding areas.

Thanks! I know for us, as I’m partnered also with a builder in North Port, we have already mapped out the areas that these unprecedented floods brought because the old FEMA Flood Maps missed the boat on this one. It’s going to impact where we pick to build now

Thank you so much for all your wise insight and for all you do. My wife grew up visiting her grandparents in Port Charlotte (Gulf Cove), lived there for a bit and absolutely LOVES the Sarasota/Venice/Englewood/Port Charlotte. After introducing me to the area (and a decade of my wife bugging me to move there ;-) we decided to buy land in North Port off Sumter on McTague street a couple months ago. It isn't in a flood zone, but the area about a mile north had to be evacuated by airboat! Wondering if anyone knows how that area did? Especially because you said much of this footage is off Sumter.

@@NoahWard_SarasotaFlorida Thank you. I was afraid of that, but thankfully it is just land, no structures. It is in the more central area off sumter--south of 75, north of the Heron Creek area. Hoping it is just the street. We will prob have to have someone drive by and make sure there is no debris on the property when things calm down. This was to be investment w/ possibility of building--guess we will need to be patient and figure out what we will do from here. Appreciate your reply.

I feel super sorry for all these people. The people I don't feel sorry for are all the foreign investors and companies like ZILLOW who were buying up homes below market value for the past 2 years, throwing a coat of paint on those homes and within 30 days putting them back on the market, doubling the price to take advantage of people looking to move to Florida. Many of those homes are now worthless except for what the insurance companies will give them, which in many cases those investors only insure the homes for the bare minimum. Karma is a bitch I guess.
