Thank you so much for these videos on restoring the Garrard 401. They're very interesting and instructive, especially for me as I'm just starting to restore one myself. Your way of working is truly inspiring. Please keep sharing these great explanations!
As a DIY audio enthusiast, built all my own amplifiers, speakers and highly modified a Lenco L75 turntable, yes Baz this is most definitely interesting to me.
YES PLEASE !! Would love to see a full restoration process. I would love one of these one day (even a 301). Also being in Australia mate. they are hard to come by - oh and with a price tag to match!! Cheers.
Always interested to learn any tips and tricks with electronic devices. You never know when you're going to get asked to look at one. I've not done many turn tables but I do get them occasionally so I'm interested to see how you go about them. 🙂
Watching this video, I can just hear the screams of outrage from the Linn Sondek mafia (I use a Technics SP10 direct drive turntable so I personally get it from the mass loaded belt drive people as well).
Turntables ar enice to watch being fixed. So yeah do those 2. For this brief video, you get a small dewars whisky from Mini Bar and a KFC burger chicken. On its way! Cherrio!
I had one but my SME 3009 arm was vandalised and the discs were worn out so I had to abandon it, so not sure if i even still have mine but if i have it then the way you get parts for the service
I used to watch radiotvphononut rebuild turntables, but he hasn't put out any videos lately. So, if you make a video of the restoration, I'll definitely watch. I have just subscribed.
Did a half service on our family owned one some 7 years back…flawless - but the old plinth yikes what a waste of time…not replaced it with a hollowed out ecosystems bit of hardwood yet!
bring on the videos i wanted to buy one the guy wanted too much i bought a hydraulic transcriptor reference with a SME Shure 3009 arm witch i fully rewired
Yes they are excellent turntable, In days gone I looked after the Local Community FM Station they were given the Comments Studio equipment from the old AM Station 2UW they had C/W Turntable and Stereo Mixers it was excellent Set up sadly the complete Studio was burnt down, By disgruntled Member the person was never charged I my association with them ceased before the fire They are up again with new set ups I don’t anything to with them. Your Turntables seem to have Broadcast history They are sort after these days by Audio Purest they fetch In exceed $1000 big money,I will watch you refurbishment with great interest Baz,Ian,
