Sequoya - 새거야 - this is new thing / this is new place. As I realized the lyrics of amazing grace phonetically written in old Korean. Instead of adapting alphabetized Cherokee language. Is anyone thought of using its origin.

beautiful story, but it is a shame that Cherokee in Mexico and Texas were denied citizenship

It is but infighting has divided us for centuries. let us forgive and move forward constructively. Thank you for the acknowledgment. My grandfather my father and myself should rightfully be part of the nation but are not. Everyone I’ve met that is and talked with about this has been welcoming and kind as can be.❤

Before Sequoyah, there were Cherokee who wrote and spoke in other non-native languages. So there were literate Cherokee, but no Cherokee alphabet.

    He was Muslim.
Evident by his first son's name, Salahuddin.
Look into Islamic history and you'll learn who he named his son after.
Of course, the ever-tricky Westerners translate his son's name as Saladin. However, those who know, know.
