Great presentation. Something I don't think you mentioned and is often overlooked, is the massive cost of roads. The construction industry is one of the biggest carbon emitters. The constant building and maintaining of roads carries a massive environmental and financial cost. Not only that, but busy roads have serious local impacts in terms of the health of a population and mental wellbeing. The best possible outcome of all this, would be that some small percentage of roads is returned to nature, or at the very least made less busy.
I don’t see this as an aerial car, but as a way to feed passengers from outlying areas to airports, this would be a slam dunk.
Yeah it makes perfect sense not to make them long range. If you want to go long range, you use them to fly to an airport.

I would love it if we could get more trains and a faster, more efficient transport network. But people want/need independent transport. A society without independent transport looks very different from the one we have and I'm not sure we're ready to make that leap.

Eric does 'snide' so well -since his arrogant Uber Elevate days , the 'vision' of millions of people being conveyed by taxi drivers to...... vertipads somewhere or other ... and being dependent on getting back to the starting places/homes etc by something totally weather dependent (how often typhoons in Korea? or just high winds, heavy rain , snow etc etc --not so often in southern California ..... As for landing on building tops --there is bugger all area there and if YOUR building is not the tallest around forget about going down into the 'canyons' in wildly turbulent air --every business ,home or workplace has been made accessible by road -not by air - if a 'air taxi' is NOT roadable you are stuck with trying to arrange extra pickups and drop offs to actually get to and from where you want to be (there is a reason that around 299 out of 300 vehicles on the road are NOT taxis --and excessive cost is just part of it ) It is instructive to watch a slimy ,slick sales pitch at work with even a passing resemblance and manner to J Goebells -- not the way aviation used to be or should be now. "Buyer" beware.
