    You just gotta love the contra-american style of Martin Kidd: Just laid back cooly stating that you can add some flavors to your existing amp. This is HUGE! The way you can switch in these excellent tube channels with ANY existing head, provided it as a loop, without compromising anything is just genius!

    I was planning on selling a few amps and things off and buying your Dutchess v40 deluxe head, but you just came out with D40 deluxe which you say can get more of the fender tones as well as British crunch...i been a fender guy all my life,so i think that amp will suit me.

    This would be completely sick with a Marshall DSL100HR and 91016 footswitch, which in effect makes it a 4 channel amp, and because the footswitch also has an on/off for the effects loop, this particular pedal would literally turn it into a 6 channel all tube amp. Totally badass!

    Recently got the kraken V4, running it through katana artist and couldn't be happier. It sounds absolutely amazing and tube like. There is so much more bottom end now than just using the Katana's brown channel. In theory it should work even better with a tube amp but being able to use the effects on katana and using it at lower volumes is a compromise I'm happy to make.

    Good vid, but you guys are missing a trick here I think. You market this as amp (the marketing is mostly towards valve crowd) extension and while this is definitely an amazing feature, where the biggest value those present is actually adding genuine valve distortion to your home studio ... and in so many flavours. Fling this into a good valve power amp sim (like Helix or Neural DSP) and cab sim and you get a whole new dimension of tone going in your bedroom studio. You could use it in an effects loop as well for all sorts of things, not only guitars. Add true valve distortion to your aggressive D&B synths, drums, top layer of bass? For 350 quid? Yes please! I think you guys should really expand your marketing of those beyond the current "it's an amp extension ... and a few other things btw" and you'll have a hit line of products. The pricing is also really good for all of those uses!
    Just ordered a Kraken btw :P

    Will the V4s suit a 5w amp head such as the Laney L5 Studio? It’s a single ended class A 5w amp, with 3x12AX7s in the front and a EL84 in the power section. Can’t afford a proper Sheriff head right now so I’m thinking the V4 Sheriff could be a more affordable alternative to achieve the Plexi tones.

    Do you reckon the LabSeries L7 (if you know it) would be a good amplifier to apply one of these pre-amps to? - If you don't know, it's a very clean (and pretty loud) solid state (but known to sound "tube like") 4x10" 100 Watt combo. It's probably similar to a Fender, like a Blackface, so it's quite bright and punchy. - What do you think would made a good combination? Because I don't know if an amplifier like that would be something of a mismatch, or if it would actually greatly benefit from a nice tube pre-amp like one of these boxes.

    • @jarrusjenkins

      I would guess that it's only there so when you switch the victory preamp off then you'll still have access to the front end of your amp.

    • @VictoryAmps

    Hey Guys, I‘m using a Revv D20 amp wich got an fx loop. I‘m new the the whole amp stuff. Can I use an reverb/delay pedal in the fx loop, while using the „amp through mode“? Or do I have to use it in front of the V4 Preamp? It seems to me that I have to sacrifice the fx loop for the V4 preamp. The goal is: V4 preamp + Amp + Reverb/Delay ;-) Thanks!

    • @VictoryAmps
      @VictoryAmps  2 года назад +1

      Hi Jonathan, This is fine you can your delays and reverbs after the V4 Pedal Preamps in your amp’s loop. You may want to run other overdrive pedals and boosts wherever you normally run them: between your guitar and the Pedal Preamp or - less common - in the loop of the amp. Either works just fine. Your reverbs and delays work whether the V4 preamp is on or off.Thanks Victory

      @VictoryAmps  2 года назад +1

      Yes this should be fine, it's a preamp so doesn't need a load attached, you can use the preamp in standalone mode straight into your interface. We would recommend either a cab sim in the form of a cab sim box or a plugin. Thanks Victory

    I saved up for Kraken and Countess!! I have some questions.
    Did you guys test it with cab/power amp simulator like the Torpedo CAB? If so how did it sound? I currently own a Fender Princeton reverb which is a great clean amp but it unfortunately does not have a effects loop. From my experience having a preamp pedal plugged into a preamp of an amp never sounded good as plugging it into a effects loop. If you had to recommend a setup which would you choose? "V4 - Front of tube amp" or "V4 - Torpedo CAB - FRFR Speaker". Thank you very much!

    • @VictoryAmps
      @VictoryAmps  6 лет назад +1

      You probably have to try it. We’ve tried the pedals into the front of various amps with good results. FRFR amps/cabs have their own particular sound and it’s not for everyone. As for direct with IRs, Rabea is shooting some videos currently on that. They will come out next week on his RUclips channel. Cheers!
