Tool less removal for laptops has been a thing on the business to business laptops for so long. I wonder why it took so long for consumer devices to start using it.
@@g.4279 Many years ago batteries were externally accessible on some consumer laptops; you could swap them simply by undoing a sliding latch. Some of them also had removable panels that allowed access to the RAM sockets, though these were usually secured with a screw.
Asus is called Huashuo in Chinese, so I assume it's a case of lost in translation. Adol probably means something instead of just being a name and they'd translate that meaning for the Western market.
Asus seems to be moving in the right direction where they are actually considering the end user, whereby they are introducing more upgradability & replaceability - this is great to see!
Cheaper Snapdragon laptops are going to pave the way to full fledged Windows on ARM support. Qualcomm is smart to make the X1-26-100, and price it low. I'm all for this, especially considering I own a Snapdragon laptop!
I keep hearing people are having issues, but my Asus stuff has just been so good that I never needed to RMA anything. What did die is my Sapphire RX 6800 and that took forever to RMA because they don't really have an EU presence, so it had to go all the way back to China.
Are you located in the US? I had a monitor die and they shipped a replacment right away. I just had to put my old one in the packaging from the new and the UPS guy took off with my old broken one..

The craziest part about this whole video is how Alex pronounces fragrance. Like I had to stop the video for minutes, just to process what I just heard!
no, the normal consumer just replaces the laptop when it is too much of a hassle to use and have the money, I have a 900 dollar laptop with a deriorated battery and I could replace it very easy but I have to watch a youtube video and buy a new battery and installed it... I prefer just to wait for the next time I have money to buy a much better laptop, because I still can use the laptop with no problem
Having some of the artistic options available over in North America would be fantastic. The fragrance disc, when Alex first opened it, looked like it might have a large selection of different available scents, but it just turned out to be ventilation holes. Something for the next iteration, perhaps?
In an upgradable laptop, I would actually prefer more screws. The problem with fewer screws is that they replace them with clips that are prone to breaking.
4:00 I like how the laptop has it's own "webcam cover", but it only covers one visual sensor. And you don't even know it's really opaque. You just have to trust Asus.
