Lillie is an absolutely incredible and insanely well developed character, but she just sucks at battling. I get she just started, but there are YOUNGSTERS on Victory Road with fully-evolved Level 50 Pokemon!
I knew I could buy the starter mega stones at Bealbeach, so I went in with a level 36 Syrentide (her stone is only accessible in postgame otherwise, and she has the second best base stat total). It went against Theo's level 54 Raptorch. I killed it with Whirlpool. lol. I think the 4th trial (Faith) was originally supposed to be an AI battle, where your pokemon fight on their own without you entering commands. Theo's dialogue suggests that. I'd wondered if they'd finally programmed that in, but I guess they haven't.
When it comes to the glowing path puzzles, you can walk on it as it moves so you can just follow the light as it leads the way essentially. Much easier, you're making it very hard for yourself 😂
QOTD In pokémon heart gold/soul silver in the dragon's den with your rival vs claire and lance You can get the pre evolution of voltasu in the town of the 8th gym by doing a side quest it is a pseudo legendary and it becomes dragon/electric type with an amazing ability
Voltasu looks like Mandibuzz plus Pikachu plus blood. Also Michael was out for blood to that Dermafrost. XD. And the way he said “Theo joined me! Yay!” was so funny and surprising since he hates Theo
QOTD: Definitely Lilly in USUM. In Ultra Moon, my team was barely higher than the Rocket leaders, and having to essentially do a two-on-one battle because her Clefairy sucked ass was so frustrating. When I played through on Ultra Sun a few months later, I grinded my whole team 10 extra levels just to not have to worry about that battle. It was a nightmare.

Avalanche's damage varied because it's basically an Ice-type version of Revenge- does double damage if the user just took an attack in the same turn. Also why it only targets one move. And Theo switching Herolune out for Miasmedic did kinda make sense, at least to me- Herolune's weak to Ice, and Miasmedic is immune to Dragon.
QOTD - it's gotta be Lillie in USUM. She did a tiny bit to help me - I think she set up a light screen or a reflect or something? But that was about it. Also I may or may not be biased because I'm not a Lillie fan (her backstory's great but I really don't like how she spends half the game reminding you that Pokémon battling hurts your Pokémon and the whole thing being useless. That being said, USUM Lillie is WAY better than S/M Lillie!)

I know I'm 2 years late, but I feel your pain in regards to the back to back Sheer Cold shenanigans. The same thing happened to me against the same trainer a couple of days ago. It was definitely one of the more annoying things thats happened to me during my Pokemon playthroughs of recent memory.
I kinda think that blues mega form should have lower base speed because it turned into a t-rex and was previously a velociraptor which is faster than a t-rex but I may be wrong.
If you want a good starter with good attack and amazing defences while still not being too slow go for orchynx. Set up a swords dance on that thing and you can k.o. nearly anything with leaf blade meteor mash and earthquacke. It is also a grass steel type so nuclear deals nuetral damage.

When I did the fight, Theo carried hard. I was stupid underleveled (Levels 45-50) and Theo's Nucleon crushed everything.
