This was to be his very last concert ever. His words I don’t know when we’ll ever meet again were so prophetic. This is the day the music died and so did beauty and clarity ❤️🙏🏼❤️
I love this man's mind, his poesy, his gravel tone, his innocent dedication to the truths he channeled, he got so close to the truth, ie THE truth, and he sings this truth to the point people listen wow
It feels as if the end of an era is happening now: the dialogs have been told and the drama has unfolded; the actors walk out, the curtain falls down; the public start to leave... "Things are going to slide, slide in all directions..." We'll miss you Leonard Cohen. R.I.P.
En tiempos como este, y no estás. Poco a poco, todos los grandes, desapareciendo. The future is now, Leo. Se echa de menos la poesía entre tanta laringe rota de odio. Gracias, Mr. Cohen. 😍🎁🔥
This men meant so much to me. If there is such thing as Heaven, I'm sure he's there, singing and making angels dance and think... R.I.P. you beautiful creature.
Master Leonard, mirrors have no idea where you're going, the fire on the road can't catch the soul of your song. That's the future, and tour clear order.❤🍁(from Jujuy,Argentina)
In remembrance of Leonard Cohen From Los Angeles to Montreal - the saddest news today The soul man Cohen has passed away No more tunes from his guitar No more singing from our super star In contemplation we sink into thoughts so deep Reviewing those joyous days of great reap Those emotional tunes those emotional words His voice will recur for sure, on our albums’ herds Again rejoicing his singing, digesting again his memory This is our future without the man in flesh but all his songs to be There are no goodbyes from me to you today Because I don’t believe in goodbyes, but in recurrent stay Quoting; “Sleep baby sleep……There’s a morning to come…..” Thank you ever much, Cohen Eddy Jacobsen, 11/11/2016 12:50:26
I've learned to tasted a world Flavors demanded much Fragances aspire as such You've learned to touch Every day inspire to hold Many seconds spent in road A whole life on a stage A soul on a praise Today finalized the feast Forever may he rest in peace -Rafael Casarrubias García- Your lyrics inspired a lot , but your music delighted more than a Country; just the Entire World
This is going to sound crazy but here it goes... I was having a cigarette outside my work early this morning. An elderly man I've never seen or met came up to me and engaged me in a conversation. He was trying to to talk me out of smoking and said, "You know Leonard Cohen?" I said I did and he was pretty excited I did, I'm 30 but he didn't think I would. We had a conversation about Leonard Cohen, my first ever. Then he dies later in the day. What?
Matt... I got here wandering around the internet. And you know what? I've had something similar. I had a dream about being in Leonard Cohen's concert. In fact I've been to two (absolutely brilliant) shows in my life. I also saw LC sitting on a chair and looking older than ever in that dream. In the morning I learnt about his death. Sounds crazy too, ain't it?
Great video. Loved it. I have seen Leonard Cohen in concert twice in the last year or so. Amazing shows, especially the MSG in NYC on 12/18/12 concert. I hope I get to see him again after he gets a well deserved rest. His "Live in London" CD gets constant play on my IPOD. Quite a man.
Was this his last live performance? Damn. Saw him at Vector Arena back in 2010. Then in 2013 I thought - he'll be back, he always comes back, this guy's immortal, I'll have another chance. I couldn't have been more wrong, could I?
Source of the phrase: Lincoln Joseph Steffens (April 6, 1866 - August 9, 1936) was a New York reporter who delivered his famous remark about the new Soviet society: "I have seen the future, and it works", a phrase he often repeated with many variations.
Learned a surprising fact today: Leonard Cohen was member of the N.R.A., including late in life. His friend Shozan Jack Haubner divulges this with quotes from Cohen in a Dec. 6, 2016 NYT piece, "Ode to Leonard Cohen, From a Fellow Zen Monk." This song, The Future, contains the line "I have seen the future, brother, it is murder." With N.R.A. gun policies in place more and more murder is exactly what's in store for the future. Amazed Cohen would join an organization whose policies encourage murder on a mass scale (while of course trying to claim otherwise). Huh?
Someone please donate to Leonard's retirement fund...if you don't know the story of his finances, you should research it. He is the poster child for artists getting hosed by management. I saw him a few years ago and he did a four hour set, half performed on his knees. He's like 7437542 years old. Let this legend retire.
THIS is the finest version of this song I have ever heard. Better than the later live version available on iTunes. Was this professionally recorded and made available for download anywhere? Shame about the truly appalling video work.
Dear Uh. I know that Leonard had been around for a long time because of mention of him in a folk music book from the early 60's that I borrowed from the library. I first heard Leonard from the movie sound track of "Natural Born Killers". His voice hasn't changed as much, in 2 decades or more, the way Dylan's has. I must hear Suzanne, thanks for the tip.
RIP, great Canadian legend. We will never forget you.
No we won't. My drunk list keep him around awhile.
This was to be his very last concert ever. His words I don’t know when we’ll ever meet again were so prophetic. This is the day the music died and so did beauty and clarity ❤️🙏🏼❤️
13 years ago I heard this song for the first time and thought he was right on about the system. Today, in 2021...well, "things are gonna slide..."
A man before his time with vision and purety
I love this man's mind, his poesy, his gravel tone, his innocent dedication to the truths he channeled, he got so close to the truth, ie THE truth, and he sings this truth to the point people listen wow
This guy is on a whole other level of amazing, like, this is utterly utterly perfect.
Its the artist that I respect the most a true poet and a solid signer is voice is just to impossible I'm not able to sing like him really love him

Golden voice the best of all
Among my few regrets is the fact that I never saw Mr Cohen live.
Same 😢

A prophet. Written years ago and is what we are living today.
In remembrance of Leonard Cohen
From Los Angeles to Montreal - the saddest news today
The soul man Cohen has passed away
No more tunes from his guitar
No more singing from our super star
In contemplation we sink into thoughts so deep
Reviewing those joyous days of great reap
Those emotional tunes those emotional words
His voice will recur for sure, on our albums’ herds
Again rejoicing his singing, digesting again his memory
This is our future without the man in flesh but all his songs to be
There are no goodbyes from me to you today
Because I don’t believe in goodbyes, but in recurrent stay
Quoting; “Sleep baby sleep……There’s a morning to come…..”
Thank you ever much, Cohen

Rest in Peace Mr. Leonard Cohen. Have a peaceful journey.
Simply wonderfull and perfect! RIP Maestro!!!!!!
I've learned to tasted a world
Flavors demanded much
Fragances aspire as such
You've learned to touch
Every day inspire to hold
Many seconds spent in road
A whole life on a stage
A soul on a praise
Today finalized the feast
Forever may he rest in peace

Your lyrics inspired a lot , but your music delighted more than a Country; just the Entire World

Pedro Um, ok?
Pedro Thanks for the laugh.
You realize you're currently on the comment section of a Leonard Cohen video spouting nonsense, right?
Even your name reeks of stupidity
Brilliant man, thank you for all you've taught us...peace & blessings
Жаль его вживую не удалось посмотреть(((( RIP Mr. Cohen
Namasta, Master, Teacher, Friend and Stranger.

Legend....
I Wonder what they meant... I feel chills... wow
One always feels chills when a great man leaves us.
He’s the only non-classical singer my grandparents ever saw live. They came home floating on a cloud of bliss.
what a great spirit and such a hard worker! enjoy immortality! you deserve it!
Great stuff

Новаторство в изпалнение!!Непознато , интересно и привлекателно!! За популярноста, е голяма ИЗНЕНАДА!!👍👍👍👍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I've got a 4 yr old that loves to dance to this,...she is so cute.

iv now about this song after the seen Tarantinos s films
Just purchase NATURAL BORN KILLERS for first time and heard this song so I had to research the songwriter!
gotta love the hot Webb sisters! and this epic song by Leonard Cohen
adiós Maestro, vuelve a casa.

I've always found his religious conviction more shocking. The whole concept of sin and thus repentance is disgusting.
In your opinion! Had to bring politics in. Maybe he just saw the future and armed himself for it!
Sempre presente.
❤❤😢
Rest in peace, sir.
Ваууу!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fuckin love it!
R.I.P. Mr. Cohen
Te amo
Who else came here for Alan Watt´s radio programs intro theme?
The future is here now.
He has the right to retire but it's not fair for us : not to have the grace to see and listen him live
He has given so much!
I so regret seeing him Live :(
.....now the prophecy rings true in Europe!!
David Arulnathan He's quoting the Protocols.
Yep,he saw it coming! He saw the “Future”. RIP Mr Cohen
Il avait quand même un ésprit torturé ! Ce poème le démontre encore une fois !
THIS is the finest version of this song I have ever heard. Better than the later live version available on iTunes. Was this professionally recorded and made available for download anywhere? Shame about the truly appalling video work.
He kent the future, hence why he toddled aff when he did xxxx
Потрясающий дед!!!!
EXQUISITO
is he not the sexiest man ever? ahh im so sad😢
He is a sexy man I love his voice very very sweet 🙏
And all that hair!
Schade das alles auf englisch ist , aber ich keins kann ! Er ist mein Lieblingssänger.
Leonard! Tabernak!
In Russian Hi is like Leonard Choen Great!
im from russia - its amazing song
The lyrics are disturbing to say the least. Does anyone know what he is singing about?
How terrible is the situation around the world in 2020...
and the white girls dancing ! bravo
and they are slidin now aren't they?
Стильный дедан. The СOOL
+++
"careless sex"? come on Leonard, give them what they paid for ;)
Come on! you don't mean they paid for anal sex do you?
That costs extra
lol
Spock?
Dem white girls dancing....yesss🔥
I guess his singing voice was such that it didn't change with age, unlike Bob Dylan.
Uh? Have you not heard his early stuff such as Suzanne?
It changed a lot but he adjusted by speaking his lyrics more. Dylan just kept on croakin'.
Dear Uh. I know that Leonard had been around for a long time because of mention of him in a folk music book from the early 60's that I borrowed from the library. Well, it did change...but, in my opinion, it got better!!
Cohen used to sing much higher keys ....his pitch got lower as he aged, tone improved...and his phrasing improved hugely.
Фьючерсы Сбера почём возьмёте уважаемый?
:(
It's good to see a musician calling abortion what it really is - murder.
This is so French
the white man dancing is a sure sign of the apocalypse
What's this gayshit??
Like white people in their tuxedos dancing while the Titanic was sinking. This world is a big Titanic
Плагиат однако.
R.I.P. My Hero...
grande!!!!!
