I think we did. We met the expectations or at least the bare minimum. We just didn't do so good against the Dutch.

@@douglast3410yes all very true except tactics. Van Gaul (Dutch team coach) said after the match that it was a very comfortable match tactically for him and that Berhalter did everything extremely predictably. If you know the usmnt is just always gonna have someone run a straight line wide left or right and then cross and rely solely on this then man the match is super easy for a skilled and talented Dutch team to break you down.
