Thank you so much for this video, I just got off the phone with a Angi person and she had me totally convinced the only way to grow my business was to become one of their contractors. SO glad I did my research. Listening to this video is probably saving myself a whole bunch of money.
Thanks Chuck👍🏼 I've been in construction for over 20yrs. I'm just starting out as a GC and had some worry about leads. Thank you for this extremely helpful information. My experience from just talking with Angie was not the best. Extremely pushy to get the sale, to the point of pushy text messages as well. Lol, the price dropped down by 1/2 before I had to hang up.
Thank you very much. I honestly don’t know how I stumbled on your video and I’m very happy I did. Yesterday I signed up with them. I just opened a cleaning business and I now change my mind about them
In my experience, starting in 2017, Homeadvisor made the phone ring off the hook and build my business when I had no calls coming in. I started with no workers and no labor cost, and used only handyman leads for $18-$25 per lead. This formula worked well and some of these handyman clients have turned into major clients ongoing for years. When I switched to leads for painting whole houses the lead cost went up to $100 to $150 per lead. Now the lead cost gets astronomical very quickly. In this case you must make extremely good use of the leads, and the lead quality has become questionable, with many leads where the homeowner does not respond. Angi Leads will allow one or two leads to be refunded but after that you are paying for these leads. Also you must call within seconds, not minutes when a lead comes in, you must be the first person there, and you must have outstanding reviews. Definitely there are clients who say 'I wasn't expecting so many calls', and you will be competing on price with at least 3 other contractors. It may be a way to start a business but it quickly limits profitability, especially once you have the cost of other workers and can't simply lower your price and still make a profit. Also their monthly 'spend target' is nonsense. I think I had mine set at the lowest setting, $200 per month, and the leads would quickly add up to $1500.00+ if I was not extremely careful in managing them. The *only* way to handle the leads is to keep them turned off (you must pause every two weeks to keep them from turning back on) and then only take a lead when you need it, and pause the leads again. Repeat until you contact a client, submit a bid, and schedule work. I agree that building a high review count with authentic, outstanding reviews on Google maps is great idea. Homeadvisor (Angi Leads) did help me start my business. I would recommend it only with low cost leads (under $50), extremely cautious lead management, and a definite exit strategy and target date where you will never have to use the leads again. Thank you
4:20 No, it is not worth it as a contractor. When a customer is looking for a contractor, that lead is sent to multiple contractors. What does that mean? It means multiple contractors are getting that customer's contact info, and most of the time, if you're not the first one to call them, that lead is lost by another contractor who got to the phone faster than you. So you just lost money paying for a lead that you never got to go to. It's a guaranteed win for Angie and the customer, but it's a gamble for you the contractor. Is that really fair? Absolutely not. It's just not worth it in my opinion.
@mrfrostbite2020 You are 💯 % correct! I recently joined Angi Leads and I had no idea how it worked! My fault for not doing my research. My understanding from the salesman that talked me into signing up for Angi Pro is that if I didn't contact the lead I wouldn't be charged. Not true! Woke up one morning, checked my online banking account and over $700.00 was charged by Angi! I called to complain and ask for them to credit me. Their response is if you don't call the lead within 24to48 hours you don't qualify for a credit! These were all leads that I didn't want! I'm a remodeling contractor and also offer deck building. I got a number of leads requesting a bid for decks but they were all super small decks under 100 sq ft. These leads would probably be better for a company that only buids decks or a handyman service. I don't do projects that small. Also the deck building leads cost me $120.00 each. The remodeling and addition leads cost $86.00 each. Makes no sense! I'm extremely pissed off with Angi leads and Home Advisor. I've contacted them and paused my leads but they will only pause them for 30 days max. So i guess I'll keep pausing them every 30 days until I figure out how to get out of this ridiculous cycle and disgusting contract!
I'm a new plumbing company with 2 vans and trying to scale up. Angi has been AWFUL. All "opportunities" are expired when I click on them within seconds. Leads most often have fake phone numbers. I committed $300 to it but that's it. -And our rep is just not bright. Yelp is better by far, not great, but still better. Thanks for the deep dive on this.
I've recently cancelled the subscription just a few days ago. The leads are very expensive and most leads do not pick up the phone nor return any of your messages. Angi still charges you for those leads. I advise to use more of the methods that Chuck talks about, it's way cheaper and with a higher hit rate.
@@shakewhey7901 I literally just got off the phone with Angie leads, same here I figured i would hop on line before I spent the money to see if it was worth it.
Thank you for this video, I recently got my plumbing contractor license and Angi Leads has been contacting me. Your video was extremely informative and confirmed what my instincts were telling me.
Thank for this very informative video, you probably saved me a lot of money and frustration. I am now armed with knowledge on how they work and I feel better equipped.
I wish I was that smart and watched this video before spending 1.6k in leads that brought me nothing. Oh, and I refused to pay the other $778 on my last invoice for bad leads, they are taking me to collections now, f$ck them I will fight to my last breath before paying them this.
I I just started using their services and first time I had 4 leads from them and I got one job that I charged $21,000 then the second time I had 3 leads and got one job I charged $70,000I think is pretty good
Thank you, they reached out to me the other day and I had already declined Angie’s list about six months ago. This company almost sounded different than Angie’s list but it still had a red flag then first name was Angie. So I told him to call me back I would do some research on them. Now I will decline any business with them, it’s not worth it
Good on you for doing your own research. I just talked to a guy that feels screwed over by Angi/homeAdvisor, Web. com and now doesn't trust anyone that has anything to do with marketing. This is what happens when you blindly trust salespeople 1 too many times and now stay stuck in one place for fear of action.
I try this Angie leads out of 10 leads I got in touch with only 1 customer so I started looking for some information and run into your video. Thanks for the heads up
NEVER USE THEM! I was going to use them then I decided not to, when I did that they decided to call me literally over 100 times trying to keep getting me to use them. I got into an argument with Dustin Chavez that works for them and he got so mad he spam called me 20 times within 5 minutes
@@anthonyricks7423 I had them do stuff like that to me. A lady would call me over and over and pretend to be a customer but she called from the same number... She couldn't understand how I knew who she was... I started putting them on hold when they called and it didn't take long for them to stop calling. "Please hold on a sec" and I would just set the phone down and get back to work.
the "lead" customer is actually looking for contractors in their area to view their website or get contact info. They are not looking for anyone to call them. The website sucks them into a situation they were not seeking by sending multiple contractor phone calls to them. I instantly noticed that the contact leads were upset or annoyed that I am calling. Angi stated to me that the homeowner is paying for the service, that was a blatant lie! Angi/Home advisor is sad way to get leads.
Exactly. This is one reason why so many "leads" are no good. The website is very unclear about what is going on and then next thing you know, your information is being sold to multiple contractors. It's obvious that their business model is to sell as many leads as possible. Quality is not of concern.
Thanks for crunching the numbers and being impartial about it, I decided not to join I know it could work but specially for new business is a high risk bet, I was in the other side of the spectrum cause I wanted a quote for insurance, that was 8 months ago, Im still getting contacted by dozens od insuatsnce company.
You can create a very simple one from the Google Maps dashboard. There are also DIY website platforms like Wix and Squarespace. If you're feeling frisky, you can learn how to make professional website with Wordpress or coding HTML.
Just got an offer today from them, will not be going through with it. I started my cleaning business about a year ago and find that using websites like these are a great way to get started, if you are consistent and a do the job you agreed to do you will have no problem finding reoccurring clients and even take them off of these money hungry websites so they can pay you directly (as the websites take a lot of the pros pay in most cases). Instead of paying the $300 for access to the leads I'm going to buy my website so people can contact me directly. Thank you so much for the video, extremely helpful!!
I agree that you are competing with at least one other contractor and you will have to be competitive but it can pay off in the long run. If your just a cut and run type it's a problem.
Thanks for this video and the comments.. I just got rid of this pushy lady from Angie's and she got mad when I ask her for the membership and told her that I need to think about it.
Here's a problem I have, when they call, they came they can get you set up over the phone, take your payment first before showing you anything. They need to show what they set up for you over email first.
The guy from Angi that called me was WAY too pushy which is a major red flag. I told him that I’d have to spend a couple of days researching about them and think about it, because I’m starting to get calls for business as well as business with realtors for my small business and need to research whether this is a good avenue for me or not. He wouldn’t accept that, and kept on pushing the sales pitch, and no matter what I said, he’d keep on going. It reminds me of timeshare sales people. It’s extremely annoying! I finally just hung up on the dude. And less than an hour later, the dipshit called me like three times in a row and I just blocked the number. I started doing research on them and found out they got sued when they were called Angi’s List and just changed the LLC and name, and came back as Angi Leads. Everything I’ve heard about them is bad news. I hope they go out of business and stay out of business.
Normally I research everything, but somehow i fell into this trap. Signed up to angi leads for 289 and paid for leads for about that much. Figured no harm if I talk to people and get jobs…well so far the leads are junk. People don’t pickup the phone…I was puzzled as to why but maybe now I understand.
I’m a painter and the company I work for slowed down so I’ve been out of work for a bit. I wanted to try to fill that gap and angis leads popped up, $750 for the year with $1000 lead credit. Thing is what happens after that? What if I only land one job and it’s only a few hundred bucks? Then get 5 leads in a row that cost a few hundred and I don’t get one? It just seems like a scam and I’m really just trying to work that’s all
If it were as easy as spending $1750, everyone would have a thriving business... There just more to it. If you're willing to figure it out and work on it day by day, you can be successful.
@@chuckthecontractor you’re right. I’m glad I never burned bridges so I got hooked up with the real estate company my friend works for. Landed a couple jobs, supposed to get another big one shortly. Can get a decent sprayer to use and take it from there
I learned 18 years ago not to buy leads real quick. Spent $750 just to hear: A) you're the 6th person to call B) I just wanted information C) I pressed the button by mistake, sorry D) I already got some one else E) I was just shopping for... Nope!!! Do a good job and offer a " FINDERS FEE " to your customers
DO NOT USE THEM !!!! I got charged $259 for supposedly getting “leads” and never got a single lead, it’s all a lie, because they don’t call you back, and now I owe $900 for them because I was still getting charged even tho I don’t get leads anyway, HORRIBLE !!!!!
I’ve found it to be okay. You can definitely run a service business with decent profit margin using their platform. I get probably 2 leads a day from Angi on average. Close 1, ends up being less than 10% of job cost.
I despise this process as a customer. Today I did what you did as an example at 3:41 . I had messages and 2 call attempts before I even finished it and at no point did it let me pick who I wanted to contact. Plus, they do not provide an interface to show you who is responding and/or showing interest , you have to just close your eyes and see who reaches out via email or phone. They have gone down hill dramatically over the last couple of years.
I just started a Junk Removal/ Hauling business. I don't really want to invest $288 a year and $28 a lead. Most jobs are only $150 anyways. I just don't see a return on investment.
These are business decisions you must make. You have options. 1. Find leads elsewhere for less. 2. Charge more for your services. 3. Find something else to do to make money. Honestly, your goal should be to figure out how to pay more per lead and still make the profit you want. This opens doors for you. If you always hide from advertising and marketing costs, you'll struggle to grow.
Hi, i currently work for a Junk Removal company in LA, we do most of our advertisement on Yelp, and it works amazing, we are currently paying like $6 per lead. You should give it a look.
I’m cancelling my Angi leads they are charging so much for leads. I was told that I would be charged when I accepted the leads. Turns out I’m getting charged automatically when receiving leads. This is scam or maybe not but I honestly didn’t like Angi leads. They charged 130$ this week and last week.
Thanks for this video. They've been calling me for weeks. I was skeptical because I wondered how they got my number. I think they may have gotten my number from Thumbtack from years ago or Craigslist. It's got creepy this morning because someone text me about doing a service out the blue. I know it have to be them texting me now too. Not cool at all.
They resort to many tricks to operate their business. It's best to be skeptical of everyone when you're growing your thing. It's ok to trust, but verify first! Thanks for watching.
I'm so glad for this content! I just got off the phone with Angi's Leads and needed to figure out if it would be helpful to sign on. (BTW, they do say there's no contract to sign. Have they changed their policy since this video was made?) I like to do due diligence and I now know I won't use their service. I've been annoyed when I've gotten a bunch of phone calls after researching various things online and I don't want other people to be put off by a phone call from me they may not have expected or wanted. Thank you!
Hey that would be good if there's no contract. I get calls every day from people who regret working with them and are trying to find a way out of paying $1000's of dollars they feel were ripped off. I wouldn't mind at all if these companies got their stuff together and actually made more people happy.
I also agree that the site is a mess. It's gotten worse since Angie bought it. I just pay like a 275 a year to stay on the site and then by the lead. Like I'm saying I've been there a long time don't know how they are approaching things with new contractors signing up. It'd be a problem for them if I dropped off the site. Not a good fit for a start up company that has few resources or expertise.
I think it could be good for more people if they were more honest with their customers. It might lose them money in the short term but at least they wouldn’t be looked at as such a shady company by so many. They’re also growing so fast by acquiring competitors that they can’t ke the system working 100%. Headed towards monopoly, I don’t think they care.
Ethically I would increase transparency on both sides. Homeowners would know that their contact info will be sold to contractors to compete for their projects. On the contractor side we would be more honest and transparent with how things work. Also no long term contracts so we're forced to be valuable. The business might not survive operating like this but that's how I would do it. I'm not beholden to stock owners so I don't have to prioritize profit above all else. Pricing would be similarly determined by supply and demand algorithms. I don't have a problem with the way they deliver leads. My beef is with the serious lack of transparency and trickery.
@@chuckthecontractor Trickery long term is always bad for the company! Clearly angi used to work before Homeadvisor ruined it. appreciate the comment man! Love the videos
I was researching painting my house. I had no idea what angies list was. I put the information in, all I wanted to see was some instant estimates. Little did I know when I hit that enter button my info went out to multiple contractors and I started getting calls I did not want. One contractor called, I told him I'm not doing the project anymore and he told me I should tell angies list so he would not get charged. Im disgusted with this site.
Wow my experience with them is if I get 10 leads, 2 or 3 I can't contact, get 6 or 7 estimates and something like 2 or 3 jobs but it varies. I think that stinks, still I've been there since it was Home Advisor 2015, have over 100 reviews, been in business almost 20 years. My profession is trees and you have to be patient, those people will call you back, they will recommend you. It can take a few years to really measure the value of that initial job. Preferred the phone book but there was issues when that was the best way. Maybe take 10 to 15 leads a month from them. It seems to me if your a new business without some clientele maybe it's not a good vehicle. I agree that it's more work selling a lead you get from them.
Hey Mike! Getting 2-3 jobs out of 10 leads is pretty good. Even from organic sources this is a high close rate. You're right to attribute future jobs to the original lead. There are a lot of companies out there that do not even profit off the first job because they know that future jobs will bring profit. This allows them to spend more to acquire a customer than a company who must make a profit on the first transaction. Thanks for sharing your experience. We see really good results for tree services via Google Maps. If you aren't already utilizing that channel, I would recommend checking out some of my Foundational Marketing videos. Cheers.
I just joined them Friday wish I had done more research. Got contacted about a lead called 1 minute later and the old gal explained to me she had the work done already. Canceling it as we speak.
Short answer to the question if you are just starting out with a business yes but expect to spend thousands every month and get one or two leads out of 100 that are actually legit
Yes, expectations are key. Expect it to be expensive and difficult to close deals this way. Don't listen to the salespeople when they say it will be easy.
So they charge for every lead sent regardless if you actually make contact correct? Just signed on with them yesterday. They've sent 5 leads...only 1 actually wanted to talk. So I've been charged for all 5 I'm assuming
Federal Trade Commission | Protecting America's Consumers sould be involved more , i will be investing more on my window tinting service web page then angi or home adviser ( partnership) i was almost close to spend my only $350 they were asking me for 7 leads for one month , i had my dubts , thats why i was investigating litle bit more but now with this video not any more . thanks sir .
Investing in your own assets is a good idea, especially in the beginning when you have a lot to gain in that area. I save buying leads for the last thing after I'm already maxing out all the other lead generation methods. Organic > Google Local Service Ads > Google Ads > FB Ads > Offline > buy leads
Had a rep call me and was so unprofessional. Uh hell, I'm not sure if I have the right number. Said he googled businesses in the area and my business popped up. I said I'll look up Angie leads online since I never heard of Angie leads. He didn't even say my name or business name. He didn't start off with "I'm from Angie leads".
Was with Angie’s list when it started and now the company is not worth using as it turn into something completely different than what it use to be, before homeowners used to look at your profile from a list and choose a contractor based of your profile and ratings and make there own choice and call you maybe 2 more guys tops now you get sent leads an more than half of those are false leads as in no one ever picks up a phone and no one is living in the home literally some of my friends have been sent to homes that has been boarded up no joke. It’s the only company that you will experience false leads with one needs to ask the question as to why that is. As a contractor I have many contractor friends and they all have already canceled with them or have been complaining about false leads and not properly vetting the contractors as well to even see if they are lic or have insurance etc. STAY FAR away is my advice
Angi Leads, formerly Home Advisor, formerly Service Magic, formerly....They have to keep changing their name because they rip people off and need to keep changing their stripes to avoid legal issues.
Thats not true. I 100% agree the sales tactics have been shady, but the name changes are solely because they have acquired 5 companies in the last 5 years
I did Angie leads for about 6 months and my only problem was their spend target wasn't explained to me properly. That's what turned me away .I was lied to just to sign then it cost me 900.00 to stop it I will never advertise with them again I can't stand a lier and that's what they do to the contractor
i cant use this service because i can get leads on my own fresh as can be so my problem would not be finding leads at all I can get 100's of leads on my own
My favorite way is Google Maps + Lots of Reviews + Website. For my businesses I always have multiple streams of new customers, but Google Maps is the best for local customers.
@@angeljuarez1427 go search for your service in your area on google. Google maps shows up at the top of the page. If you’re 1 of the 3 companies that shows up in that box and you have more reviews than the other 2, you will get a lot of calls.
I'm seeing a pattern, General Contractors it would appear wouldn't be a good investment. If you are in a niche business, such as Swimming Pool Installation to where an area isn't saturated with installers, it could be profitable. Liner Replacements, Reconditioning Pools etc. I'd think service work such as cleaning, maintaining Pools and such wouldn't work with this program.
I did it 4 years.. they are NOT a HONEST company. He is right they will send out 5 minimum then 2 days later do it again and charge all these contractors. I was glad to pay if i talked to someone but there was so many fake phone numbers and you would get charged for those and some times at there discretion give you your money back on the fake ones. I am questioning if they not generated by angie themselves for revenue. Ultimately they are not honest with their practices
Most of those leads aren't even active or there old. I tried home advisor. I received the same kind of list. Never a response from any so called lead. Just a list.
4:20 No, it is not worth it as a contractor. When a customer is looking for a contractor, that lead is sent to multiple contractors. What does that mean? Not really. Imagine selling good meat to a bad cook. Should they only pay if it turns out good? Buying leads is normal, it's just that quality has gone down a lot across the board.

I would say no, It is not good. The Arko Restoration in Blaine,Mn is very bad. The Roof and siding might have looked ok. My experience with them. After the Roofing and siding they had nails all over the driveway and had to be called to come back to clean them up. Then the siding in the back of the house was falling off. They had to come back to fix that. The front door that they put in was falling apart and I called them to fix it , they came back and tried to fix it less then a year. Door is rarely used. I called numerous times they will not come back. The GM is horrible and after I sent a picture to him The G M said it was not from their installation. I called to talk to the owner Lance. He won’t respond. I would never use this company or refer them to anyone.
The yearly fee sounds right. How much they charge per lead depends on the service, location, competitors, etc. So, perhaps they were telling you that for the leads you are interested in purchasing, the average is $16. It often fluctuates and some will me more or less than that.
He’s not lying I had home Advisor and it was a scam at the end of the month my bill was like 5k and I did two jobs and I never made that with my client u will be in debt 😜
Agies contacted me saying that with a subscription of monthly payments of $300 $400 I will get between 18 and 25 leads per month without any additional cost, is that true?
Are they real leads are fake leads? IF they are real leads, is that worth the monty for you? What happens if the leads are not of the quality you expect? What do you do then? Is there an option to cancel the contract if the leads are no good? Be careful agreeing to pay long-term. Also, don't give anyone your debit card, Ust credit card. Build airline miles or cash back and also have an easier time disputing charges that are fruadulent.
@@chuckthecontractor Thanks for your advice, it's very helpful. They told me that there is no cost per lead after $300. $400 per month sounds interesting. Do you have any experience about this, if you are true, the 18 to 25 leads per month for no cost thing is interesting you know if i can sign in with no yearly contract
@@alexandermartinez7151 I would make them put it in writing that the leads were going to be legit, meaning: for my service, in my service area, answered the phone, and were actually expecting a call. If all those were the case, then it could be worth it. The bottom line is that if you try it, measure the actual dollar amount that comes out of it. If you can make a profit after all of your time and expenses, then it is worth it. If you don't call people the second they come in.... If you don't track your numbers 100%.... You might end up getting screwed or at least feeling like you got screwed. To sign that contract you are agreeing to play a very competitive sport... You are going against people who mgiht be hungrier than you. You have to take it seriously and call those people the second they come in. And, track every damn thing. I would hope it was worthwhile for you because if it isn't, it's painful to exit the contract. My question to them is that if it's such a good deal, why do they lock you into a year contract? If they say it's because they will allocate people to run ads in your area, that's bullshit. They already run ads in your area... They are known to give you better leads in the first month or two and then start giving the good leads to new people, kind of like a ponzi scheme. Anyways, I would try to talk them into a trial. Record they call. They record the call so you can too. If they go back on your word, you have evidence showing show. Also, don't give them a debit card. Use a credit card. Banks protect their money (credit) more than they protect yours (debit). That's the best advice I can give.
@@chuckthecontractor Thank you very much for answering my question, it was very helpful and will help many more people to take precautions about making this decision
The lady that called me seemed quite desperate to sell this process to me. It seemed like a scam & when she called my phone literally warned me "Spam risk". lol.
Yeah was on the phone with “Jeff” and it’s $7-10 per lead and a $288 background check fee. Ridiculous price for a background check as they normally cost $50 at most. I just get bad vibes from this guy and will be giving a firm no thank you. He also offered $300 worth of leads if I payed $100 when he called. Really sketchy.
7-10 a lead is pretty cheap. I know folks who are paying 100+ for leads. It's possible that it could be profitable for you if you do it right. It's almost like you have to game the system to get it to work by keeping leads paused and only using Opportunities. Where are you located? Is it a competitive market?
It works for ~1/20 people I talk to. It really depends on how good you are at calling people immediately, your competition, and the quality of leads coming in. Some contractors really like it and can't understand why others don't. Most, however, think it's a scam. If I were to try it again, I would talk them into giving me a credit to use and prove it works before I signed anything long term.
I haven’t paid he told me $100 now but I haven’t spoke to him since it’s better to do what you said and invest in your own business you get more cliental that way

Thank you
Thanks for sharing your experience. It's very helpful.
@@chuckthecontractor Thank you!
This is definitely anji leads😂
What a great, honest video.

You're welcome. In some places it's just impossible to get Angi Leads to be profitable. You might be in a very competitive area.
I've recently cancelled the subscription just a few days ago. The leads are very expensive and most leads do not pick up the phone nor return any of your messages. Angi still charges you for those leads. I advise to use more of the methods that Chuck talks about, it's way cheaper and with a higher hit rate.

She couldn't understand how I knew who she was... I started putting them on hold when they called and it didn't take long for them to stop calling. "Please hold on a sec" and I would just set the phone down and get back to work.
This is so crazy they did it to me to
So sorry to hear that I've had contact information that confirms everything he said
the "lead" customer is actually looking for contractors in their area to view their website or get contact info.
This is a very good information I’m a painting contractor for 15 years and never used this one.
So how can we market or promote or get leads then?
You're so right. about the whole thing.

Thanks so much for the info! Where can I create my own website? thank you
You can create a very simple one from the Google Maps dashboard. There are also DIY website platforms like Wix and Squarespace. If you're feeling frisky, you can learn how to make professional website with Wordpress or coding HTML.
Thank you so much for the information. You are truly knowledgeable.

It only makes sense as some contractors never return the homeowners phone calls and messages. This is business in general it's a numbers game.
I agree that you are competing with at least one other contractor and you will have to be competitive but it can pay off in the long run. If your just a cut and run type it's a problem.

Ya that would be cool.
Wise move. Be careful with anyone that wants you to sign a long term contract before they've proven themselves.
Sorry to hear that Nick. This is a valuable lesson to always do your research! Shortcuts often take longer and cost more. Good luck my friend.

I’ve found it to be okay. You can definitely run a service business with decent profit margin using their platform. I get probably 2 leads a day from Angi on average. Close 1, ends up being less than 10% of job cost.
Great info and insight thank you
I needed this feedback lol not working with these scamers!!
Everyone wants your money! Only some give equal or greater value in return.
I like the content... That 734 area code made me like the video lol
It's so easy to find contractors on google maps there's no reason to use those services.
Sorry to hear that man. Good luck cancelling the service.

Get an emervency boat air horn honk that thing into the phone whenever they call and I guarantee. the calls will begin to taper off
I'm so glad for this content!
Thanks bro for your video , I am 19 yrs tech trying to go independent and your video really help me to make a valuable decision keep up the good work
Glad I could help
yup you probably have to low ball your prices which I'm not going to do spending money on leads I can get for free on my own
I also agree that the site is a mess.
I'm super curious. How would you price a lead if you were leading angie's list . (sucks that Homeadvisor became so corporate)

Ads not Leads
Wish I had heard this 2 weeks ago.
Cheers.

Investing in your own assets is a good idea, especially in the beginning when you have a lot to gain in that area. I save buying leads for the last thing after I'm already maxing out all the other lead generation methods. Organic > Google Local Service Ads > Google Ads > FB Ads > Offline > buy leads

The yearly fee sounds right. How much they charge per lead depends on the service, location, competitors, etc. So, perhaps they were telling you that for the leads you are interested in purchasing, the average is $16. It often fluctuates and some will me more or less than that.
They told me 28$ per lead
These ppl bs

He’s not lying I had home Advisor and it was a scam at the end of the month my bill was like 5k and I did two jobs and I never made that with my client u will be in debt 😜

Future anti-trust lawsuit? lol
I wish I had seen this video before I waisted my money, but more importantly my time, with Angi.
Sometimes we have to learn the hard way!
If it were true, a one-year contract is required. When canceling the contract, I have to pay 35% of the remainder of the year.
@@chuckthecontractor Thank you very much for answering my question, it was very helpful and will help many more people to take precautions about making this decision
thank u
The lady that called me seemed quite desperate to sell this process to me. It seemed like a scam & when she called my phone literally warned me "Spam risk". lol.
Haha not surprising. The salespeople have a very high turnover rate.
Also I do minor landscaping and mowing
7-10 a lead is pretty cheap. I know folks who are paying 100+ for leads. It's possible that it could be profitable for you if you do it right. It's almost like you have to game the system to get it to work by keeping leads paused and only using Opportunities.
Where are you located? Is it a competitive market?
@@chuckthecontractor Minnesota suburbs
@@reesewilson9032 How did you go about getting customers? I am also landscaping and mowing in Florida.
They said I have to pay $300 for a back ground check but his energy was weird
Dan and then he now talking about an internship
I didn’t want to pay the 300 cause I didn’t know if it was going to work honestly do you think it works?
It works for ~1/20 people I talk to. It really depends on how good you are at calling people immediately, your competition, and the quality of leads coming in. Some contractors really like it and can't understand why others don't. Most, however, think it's a scam.
If I were to try it again, I would talk them into giving me a credit to use and prove it works before I signed anything long term.
It’s worth it definitely!!!!!! Changes lives!!!
I haven’t paid he told me $100 now but I haven’t spoke to him since it’s better to do what you said and invest in your own business you get more cliental that way
