hello everyone from Italy, I live in Tuscany and if you like I also leave you the traditional but simple recipe for tortellini broth: 5 liters of water 1 onion 1 carrot 1 leg of celery 3 cloves 1/2 tablespoon salt (add or remove as desired by tasting) 1/4 star anise pod (optional) 1 beef bone (knee or any other is fine) 1/2 clean hen 1 kg (about 1 pound) of beef stock put all the ingredients in a large saucepan, cover with cold water and put over medium heat. Once it starts to boil, move to a small fire and clean the surface of the broth from brown foam several times. Let it simmer for 3 hours. Turn off, remove everything from the broth and filter it with a sieve. Ready to be enjoyed with tortellini or other type of broth pasta or simple crusty bread. Always add a sprinkling of grated Parmesan cheese 🙂 The meat removed from the broth is excellent to taste with sauces such as mayonnaise, ketchup, etc. and also perfect for filleting in a salad. a warm greeting from Italy

Especially that white cake *chef's kiss*

I’ve been making the soup for years. I do add some tomato paste when the sausage is cooking but it is absolutely delicious. Oh this is one of my kids favorites and they both make it as adults for their spouses.
I made this today for lunch on a rainy day! Thought there would be leftovers but my whole family devoured it even took another bowl XDDD Thank you for the amazing recipe!

John has a pasta recipe that is delicious! You can simply cut squares out of that pasta dough, tuck a bit of cheese in them, and fold the dough tightly around the cheese. Works wonderfully!

I simmered down a container of Trader Joe’s bruschetta sauce and then added it to the pan with the sausage instead of using the garlic, onion, tomato and basil. It was amazing, thanks for helping me with dinner tonight! ❤
Omg... I just made this soup a couple of days ago...it was so easy and tasted amazing and I'm not even a good cook! I will be making again soon!! I added a little bit of can corn!
I made this soup for dinner last night...the only thing I changed was that I added a tablespoon of brown sugar to cut the acidity of the tomatoes because I added more tomatoes that the recipe called for(we love tomatoes). I also added the basil with a little cooking time left to infuse the soup with the basil. This was absolutely delicious!!!! Thank you for a wonderful recipe!
I'm eating Slapped Together Chicken Soup while watching this. I used celery leaves as a sub for fresh parsley. Not the same, but it makes me feel like there's fresh something leafy in there.

Not a request but John I have to tell you…we use your pizzelle recipe and my Italian family LOVES them. Best recipe for pizzelle I’ve found! And same goes for your Mac and cheese recipe…never received so many compliments!
This is my first ever time tasting tortellini soup and this was soooooooo good!!!! I can't wait to make it again. The only thing I will change is adding more broth. I think I lost a good bit of liquid during the boil/simmer process. Can't wait to make this again and try more of your recipes!!
OMG I am so happy I came across your channel. I have made some of the cookies and they are tops. This was my fist time making any of your savoury recipe and it was a hit. I used pumpkin and feta ravioli because I couldn’t find any cheese tortellini but I think it was sooooo goood :)
