Hi and thank you for watching! I will be doing a new video that will be a kind of a build montage and then my thoughts on using the rig with some benchmarks for games. I should be finishing up filming sometime this next weekend and editing as well. I did Afterburner benchmarking on CS:GO, Fortnite, Rocket League, and then Shadow of the Tombraider and Metro Redux for higher end games as they have built in benchmarks. I've never done benchmarking so definitely bear with me, but I can tell you CS:GO was very playable as was Rocket League. For Fortnite I had to go to very low settings to have decent FPS. Stay tuned though, I'll definitely post soon, as work and life allows. :)
3? I thought you only lost 2? Oof, I know it's only a difference of 1, but going from 6 to 3 just b/c you use the m.2 is kinda nasty. Is this when you run the m.2 in sata mode or even if it's PCI-e nvme ?
Thank you and thank you for watching! I probably won't be able to do a BIOS review as I'll be selling the computer the mobo is in (hopefully today should the guy show up). What kind of information would you like to see in a BIOS review? I'm not the most traversed in going over a BIOS but I can definitely give it a go in a future video as I plan on doing more motherboard overviews like this as it's been received well. Would love to hear your suggestions.
Hi. Just getting into building a PC and this is one of the motherboards I'm considering. While unrelated, one question I have is about PBO. is that a CPU feature or on the motherboard?
Hi and thank you for watching. The PBO is what the CPU is capable as far as I know. The 3600 can boost to around 4.1 on 1-2 cores or more depending on how well it’s cooled. Here is a link for more information. community.amd.com/community/gaming/blog/2018/08/13/understanding-precision-boost-overdrive-in-three-easy-steps
Sorry for the delayed response. I'd absolutely recommend that CPU and GPU combo with the case. The 1600AF has a lot of power for little price and the RX580 still plays many games at high settings in 1080p no problem. Thank you for watching!
Not worried about overclocking, but did you say there arent any front side USB 2.0 headers? Theres no header for front of case headphones either? Thanks
Hi and thanks for watching! If you go to the 4:44 mark I start to go over the bottom connectors. The first on is the front audio connector and about 2/3 of the way through or so are 2 Front USB 2.0 connectors for a case (right next to the big ole USB 3.0 connector. The front audio connector will be what you connect the case audio to so you can use the headphone/mic jack. :)
@@MiddleofKnowhere sorry, may have missed that! Am considering getting that board for a Dell vostro 230 rebuild. Another similar video channel thinks that a couple of the m/b to case standoff post positions may not line up, but I think its possible, with careful measurements, to place the posts so the B450 can be installed. Thanks. I would like to keep the 2 or 4 front panel USB 2.0s & the headphone jacks.
@@j.lietka9406 You're welcome, and I hope the board fits nicely in the Dell case. You may just have to drill a couple of new holes and remove existing stand offs. You can buy stand offs pretty easily online if you run out or whatever. :)
That should work yes. I personally wouldn’t get that cpu unless that’s all you can afford but the more are 2600x CPUs on eBay for $10-13 more than the 2300x I saw (assuming your in the States of course). There are even 3600 CPUs for a bit more than that.
Is the link in the description on where to buy this mother on amazon, does it also come with amd ryzen 3000 desktop ready because it doesn’t say that on amazon in your link. So does it come with 3000 ryzen ready or not on your amazon link?
Hi and thanks for watching! Great questions. Yes, the link is to Amazon. The images on the site might be out of date, but I did buy this motherboard from Amazon and it came with the Ryzen 3000 Ready sticker.
It does need a wifi card. I used a USB wifi no problem. It's just the N standard. Here's what I used: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UZRVY12/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You may want something in the AC standard but it will be more expensive. I just used this to get general connectivity so I could download updates and drivers and what not. II have used it to play fortnite as well and had no issues in terms of lag or anything. Hope that helps!
Middle of Knowhere thanks I appreciate it that, however does this mother board come with a WiFi slot in case I want to use one that connects straight in the mother bird and not usb.
@@jerrymoreno7267 I don't believe so no, but you can always use one of the extra PCI slots for such a wifi card. There's no dedicated slot where you could put in a wifi module.
@@jerrymoreno7267 I do believe there is a wifi version of this board though, search for that if you want it integrated. It probably will cost a bit more due to the craziness of parts this year.
Latest BIOS should support all current CPUs. You may have to do incremental BIOS updates. When I built the budget PC I did maybe 2-3 updates to get to the most current BIOS. Gigabyte has a Windows based BIOS updater that made it convenient and easy (just took about 10-15 minutes per update).
When I built this, I had used the 3200G. It's not bad, but I think the hyperthreading/multi-threading 8 thread count of the 3400G would have been better, but at hte time the pricing wasn't comparable. Now, if I were building again I'd go for the 3400G or wait for the 4k APUs to come out to the masses, whenever that is. :(
@@MiddleofKnowhere i think ryzen5 3400g have best prise with his valeu because corona, the factorys closed for example the ps5 out of stok. The apu will coming maybe in the last of 2021 me i cant wait to 2021 because that i bought ryzen 5 3400g with 149$
Hi and thanks for watching! It's already Ryzen 3000 ready so no flashing necessary. You should just be able to plug and play. Having said that, make sure your box says Ryzen 3000 ready as there are older versions of this motherboard out there. Thanks and have a great day!
Hi sir , i use samsung 970evo nvme for now , and when i try to put my 2.5sata ssd , it didnt read/show , is it only allow 1 ssd ?? Ive tried it on my friend PC and its working . So the ssd not the problem , the power (ssd) also light up , and ive tried all the sata cable that i know works Sorry for bad english and newbie question , please help
Hi and thanks for watching. If you use an NVMe drive 2 of the 6 SATA ports are disabled so make sure you consult the manual as to which one (I can't recall off the top of my head) and then if you don't have any other SATA drives plugged in, plug your SSD into port 1. If you already used that try a different one. Thanks and hope that helps!
You should be able to do a modest overclock, but as pointed out by you and in the video, the lack of heatsink on the top vrms may pose issues in how well you can overclock and also temperatures.
A lot of the time it really doesn't make sense you're right. You can get a better 1-2 core boost automatically than an all-core OC. It's the nice thing about Ryzen. Thanks for watching!
Nah, I remember using jumpers on IDE and SCSI drives as well as jumpers on my G3 266 Beige Power Mac (the tower one) so that I could increase the bus speed when I upgraded the G3 266 CPU to a G4. I've used jumpers, and no sir, I do not like them.
Good video, thanks for the comprehensive review. Are you doing any benchmark videos on the rig with esports titles in the future?

Compare to asrock b450m steel legend which one is better
I am building a PC, most sites say this motherboard is 44cm in length, Is this true?
Just got this cause it had 6 SATA connections, but was pretty surprised that I lose 3 of those when I use the m.2 slot for an ssd.

Just looked at the manual, you do indeed lose 3 SATA ports if you use a SATA m.2 drive. If you use PCI-e, you'll lose only 2.
Middle of Knowhere only have a sata m.2 drive. I’ve gotten over it by using an external HDD/SSD reader.
