Supermarkets and stores have become the Wild West, where it’s every man or woman for themselves - especially in matters involving toilet paper. Divert Living No rice anywhere! I read that China restricted Thailand and Vietnam from shipping anymore rice. It was really crazy they built a dam too on their river so the rice fields couldn’t get water from that river. China did that!! I’m so frustrated too! But Indian rice is still available and not too bad.

No problems here in New Hampshire.. same country different experiences. The only items low supply are TP and Clorox wipes.. but those show up intermittently, glad I’m not in Rochester, NY.. never had a desire to go there anyway
Go to an asian grocery. The large asian stores here in NC have plenty of everything. We got the 50 lb bag of rice. My wife is Thai.
In the Netherlands we don"t have a lockdown (yet) but of course social distancing, closed schools, theaters, big stores, gyms, restaurants etc. and the government has already sharpen the rules twice within 3 weeks now. I still don"t get the toilet paper consumption, luckily I'm an Indonesian guy so I don't need those hihi. Only people working in the vital profession are working remotely, the rest is working at home by laptop and phone. What concerns me more right now is the tendency to find the guilty ones. China begins to point the finger to the USA from bringing the virus to them etc. Remember: human beings have killed more each other than viruses ever killed human beings in the entire history of the world.

Seattle just issued a 2 week stay at home order......people been panic buying for the past few weeks, it’s crazy, they need to stop that, the world isn’t coming to an end......

Very interesting. We had intense grocery shopping in Toronto a starting two weeks ago. But - that was matched with super intense restocking. After a while - people got the message that merchandise and groceries would not run out.
The confidence of the citizens in the supply chain held fast and the panic buying essentially abated. There are still some incidents but largely - fine.
We are restocking fast but they cant keep up with it

Bruce MacNeil That’s so good to hear! Things aren’t anywhere near so bad in MN as in Rochester, but there are some items that get depleted as quickly as they’re restocked (hand sanitizer, etc.) I’m hoping the gentle MN vibe continues and it never gets worse than this.
hoarding is happening here in Kentucky as well. It's crazy! No t paper to be found... makes no sense. We are about to go on lockdown Thursday.

We finally got a Wegmans in Brooklyn late last year. I'm lucky they are a few blocks from me. When they first opened I often ran into people who seem lost trying to get to Wegmans so I had to direct them. It's not that easy to get to unless you're driving. Shoppers cleaned a lot of the store out. I was at Stop & Shop last week all the toilet paper and tissues are gone. Well we have a stay-at-home order but not a lock down like in Wuhan, China where people were prisoners in their homes and had to order food. So there is no reason for all that hoarding and panic shopping taking place. One psychologist said that toilet paper brings comfort to some people that is why they grab up more than they need. Speaking of toilet paper back in 2014 a lady from Thailand stayed at my place for a few months. I'm glad she is not here now because when she was here I had to put a new roll of toilet paper out just about every day. The plus was I got to eat free Thai food just about every day.
I talked to a lot of stockers from various stores and it’s also a problem getting shipments in. Their warehouses are emptying too. I guess there are more restrictions out there that we are not aware of. But hoarding is definitely a thing.
With the situation in New York right now, I guess people are really in panic buying mode. I have a similar video like this when I was in Thailand and yes all over the world people are panic buying.
We still got food in stock here in Houston but... there's no more facemask, no alcohol, toilet paper I think we still have it.

We are in Australia Brisbane I own a Organic Beef business and it's been similar, we not only feed ourselves but we sponsor two young Tennis Players all there food because there trying to achieve there goals this year. One they are superbly nice human beings also one of them coach's our son Max. We are lucky I have a account where we can get all there food for them and we do Farmers markets each week where we obtain our household food. We personally supply hundreds of families there Beef weekly and fresh. Please everybody try and support local businesses where you can and just be kind to others. Stay safe guys👍

I just got back from the Fayetteville Wegman's (on the east side of Syracuse). It's better stocked than this one. I went about 45 minutes before closing time and there were maybe 10 other shoppers in there. The hoarding seems to be easing up a bit. Knock on wood.

im on vancouver island canada and our shelves food is still in good supply here. but most businesses are closed. restaurants are pick up or take out,. Fuel is only 99 cents per liter. that is the only blessings among this craziness

Oh Guys I’m sorry I’m living in Texas and it’s no so bad I can’t find some stuff, but I use to eat healthy and get fresh veggies and fruits and I still can get it. I recommend to you guys to boots your immune system now that you are in New York get fruits rich in vitamin C , if you find coconut oil get it and eat it and veggies. Blessings guys you a nice couple.

My wife and I have been struggling to find noodles and eggs, among other common items. We’ve had to adapt to improvising with what’s in stock also, and that’s here in New Hampshire.

Your lucky, we had no bread of any kind and no hamburgers. The only beef was steak and only pork was hot dogs and bacon. No chicken. Good thing I had plenty of Asian Noodles stored up for hurricane season. Got milk and eggs for cornbread.

Oh cool, I've been to that Wegmans! Interesting to see what it looks like in full disaster mode. (I used to live in the East End of Rochester, near Park Ave, but would occasionally stop by the Penfield store.) You should totally make your own kimchi! I'm doing it for the first time with some daikon radishes I had.

@@Thomas-kw9je Just got back from Vietnam, the locals are showing some concern, my friends air bnb they would not allow him to enter, even though he had a booking as they were foreigners, myself one restaurant said there was a "party" and that we could not come in, I think that was fake, but over all it was pretty good, the shops were well stocked with toilet paper and noodles all that sort of stuff, but there is not much love for the Chinese, I wonder why?? :-)

@@DivertLiving it is okay here so far a 20 day lock down so you must stay inside only go out if you must for food .they are trying to stop t before its to bad here so thats good and to hording is not to bad here yet just have to be careful as if it gets bad here it will be a mess good luck you 2 spend some good time together making your next move ... we will be doing the same and working learning editing better ..lol keep up the good work we would love to meet you 2 sometime after all this crazy stuff
I live near Vancouver, Canada and it's the same here. It's just nuts. I try to look at it from the positive as a way to get back to basics. The other day I learned how to make ramen from scratch...pretty easy actually. Next: learn how to grow toilet paper...should I try sprouting from a roll or planting the squares? Lol :/

🌟well Jim and Tah, how did you enjoy coming home to see all this madness. Myself being a heart patient I am high risk so I have to spend my life in the home. I go for walks but have face shield and I go shopping very little. My wife Lanette got threatened by a customer because I was smart and had masks for her and 7mm gloves beforehand. He said he hopes she gets it and dies because she has them and his family doesn't. My wife explained that I had heart surgery and was protecting me. He said then I hope he dies to. This was in the parking lot of her work going home. Lucky he didn't attack her or he would've been shot. We are avid shooters and licensed carriers, you know the drill. Just want everyone calm and safe. Loved the video you two. Be healthy, be safe.✌

PLEASE BE SAFE in New York. Unfortunately you’re not at the best place to be to ride out this pandemic. Of all the places you have been and all the countries you have visited, your current location might be one of the least safe right now. At least you can take care of your family and help out those who need help the most. My thoughts and prayers are with you during these uncertain times. So I do have a few question. If they have such strict limits, why are the shelves so empty? Are the shipments still being delivered to the stores? Can they give you an estimated time on when new shipments will arrive? I know New York is one of the hardest states hit but you would think that shipments would still be delivered. Instead of armored car heists they must be having toiletries and sanitizer truck heists these day (just kidding - I hope 🤞)
Ahh well actually we are in the best place. We arent in NYC where its hit hard we are in upstate. This is the countryside where we have over 20 acres and tons of space and food for isolation. This was filmed after the outbreak so they just started limiting things. Now that they have its under control and the shelves are stocked again :)

I credit my trip to Thailand to learn about how to use very little toilet paper-by using a bum gun and using TP just to dry up. So I installed one last year. We use WAY TOO MUCH tp in this country (US) and keep digging up the road to install bigger sewer pipes.

We had to cut our Thailand honeymoon short and are now in 2 week quarantine on arrival back to Australia, apparently shops are as bare as what ive seen in your video but we havent been out since getting in from the airport so uncertain. I love your video from Rochester it shows that we are not alone.we are just south of Albany and its the same down here.Due to being concidered elderly they want us to stay home and its driving me crazy to have our children do all the shopping for us.Its great to see you guys getting out and going shopping even though there is nothing in the stores. South Africa looks almost exactly the same!!! As of 26/03/2020 our nation goes onto national lockdown without the ability to leave our house unless absolutely imperative. It’s really crazy this side too...next level panic
