This is inside one of the most luxurious, exquisite and expensive five-star hotels in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, and it a modern luxury hotel reconstructed from an 18th century palace! The building, known as Chicherin house, was built on the foundation of the temporary Winter Palace of the Empress Elisabeth, Peter’s the Great daughter. The hotel is in very close proximity to the Hermitage (Winter Palace). It is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World.
There are different kind of rooms here, from classic ones, to luxurious suites, all boasting a neoclassical design. There is also a café in the atrium (Atrium café), a restaurant, and another restaurant on the 6th floor and a spa, swimming pool and sauna area.

Note: Exquisite scenic elevator design, simply beautiful (only boring OTIS fixtures though, would have been better with OTIS Series 1, for instance). The elevators also have special rugs on the floor, showing the day of the week. This part of the hotel opened in 2003 when the hotel was completed that year, and it had been reconstructed from an 18th century palace, for the 300th anniversary of the City of Saint-Petersburg (1703-2003). It is a really beautiful hotel!
