I've wondered why some people enjoy the Cocteau Twins "slowed and reverberated", but this is an exception to that question .....!!!! This truly showcases the intricacy and perfection of every note involved and it's a testament to Robin Guthrie's ability. Many years ago, I was visiting my hometown of San Francisco and I was walking through Jack London square and the fog was rolling in as usual about dusk, just before evening as the city lights reflects off of it with a dense hue. I could here the sounds of the large city, but in the distance there was the sound of a saxophone solo, so I had to chase it down. This street player had picked a perfect spot, where the instrument was ricochet off of the high-rise living towers and towards the Macy's Building. As always, there was the piano player in the glass elevator, that went up and down as the city's elite would shop, but I turned the corner towards the piers and there stood a vagabond. Cradled against his chest was a saxophone, but the tune was the solo from this song which had truly reverberated throughout the square. His face was weatherbeaten and worn from whatever life had thrown his way and he was just there. I always have spare change for the street performer's, just like in New York or London, but this time I had twenty dollars that was doing nothing, so I grabbed it in preparation. As I passed this man, he had finished the last note and all I could say was "Lazy Calm .....!!!!" His eyes lit up and he said "How did you know ....???" I responded with, "We're in San Francisco man, you know all us Goth-Kyd's grew up with the Cocteau Twins in our back-pockets .....!!!!" He smiled widely, which shown his wrinkles even more, but I didn't care. He looked at his tip-hat and saw the twenty dollars I had place inside and said, "Thank you, now I can finally eat today." This threw me off balance, as I was dumbfounded that he hadn't eaten all day, so I did what I could only do, which was ask him if he wanted to join me at the local corner dinner, where I was going anyway to have breakfast for dinner, with corned-beef hash soft-boiled eggs. We talked and ate together, as if we were old friends, but I picked up the bill and he gave me his many thanks. What he last said to me was something I'll never forget, "Men have entertained Angels and not known that they have done so." In my Christian education, I caught the remembrance of Hebrews 13:2 and I turned around not really paying attention to him, but he was gone, in all four ways. For every Cocteau Twins song, there has been a memory built off every song, so they often mean much more to some than other people; but, after 40+ years of "Super-Fandom" there isn't much I haven't heard. When people say to me Elizabeth sounds like an Angel, I have some experience, so build your memories like I have, and no matter how alone you may feel sometimes, just remember ― Music will always be a constant and faithful companion. Elizabeth is a precious woman, but one who has been hurt, far too many times to be understood, so let me give you a quote: "My music is like walking through a dream, and I dream of music. People say they're overcome with a sense of calm euphoria ― While I only feel pain." ― Elizabeth Fraser This version, does tremendous justice to us all, even Angels .......!!!!
Many people played this album on their record players at 33 1/3 instead of 44 rpm, which is slower. Since there was no internet, they listened to it like this for years.
Ngl ur the best slowed/reverb RUclipsr. The amount you slow it down varying most times shows that you know how to make a good sounding slowed song. Some channels slow it into a key it shouldn’t be in, but you slow it just right, so you can still hear the same notes as the original in a similar/same key. Also the reverb... it’s almost a joke how much some of these people add. But yours is like a spice: just enough to let you know it’s there if you’re looking for it.
thank you so much for a kind comment! tbh it was not super easy to grasp at the beginning, it took some listening practice for sure and doing things by trial and error. some of my older vids might reflect that, but then over time you get better and more creative and learn how to manipulate the sound in a variety of ways
i also wanna add that not all songs sound good under slowed&reverb because of individual things like its original instrumental arrangement, recoding quality, mastering chain so i do believe that each song requires its own input
I have a suggestion but would you do a slowed version of the song called: promise of the world from howls moving castle anime it’s a really good song and one of my favourite anime
Thank you for this one, it would be awesome if you could make a slowed version of "Guts theme" by Susumi Hirasawa and "Delicious" from Pet shop of horrors"

I’m like. Dying. Like. This is like. Sleeping in a calm abyss. This kinda reminds me of dreamcore
