- On August 20, 2022 the Mass Coastal Railroad hosted their first annual Cape Cod Rail Fan Day mirroring past events from the 1990's. The Hyannis Yard was the location of the event with visiting equipment, shop and locomotive tours, as well as train rides to/from the event. This video shows train operations on the Cape Main as well as the event in Hyannis Yard. The event was a success and it appears it will become a regular annual event.

Great video, and I can’t wait for next years Railfan day! loved this event and I even saw my dad and I in the vid!
A great day to be a Railfan! 👍
Superb video of some very interesting trips. Greetings from Australia.
Awesome as always! I did catch 2026 and 2010 but sadly, I didn't get to explore the stuff in Hyannis.
Damn! - I didn't know about this, would have tried to go myself. I'll make sure to put it on my calendar for next year. Thanks for posting it, Mike. ;)
I’ll have to let you know when they announce next year’s date!
looks like everyone had fun. :) thanks for posting.
Fun to see so many different units all at their shiniest, ruining at speed.
Great Video bud!! This was a cool day for sure. -RTT
Thanks Brian!
Always great footage!!
Thank you!
Great video!
Very cool video!
Nice video! Sucks I couldn't go.
Awesome video and great fun! How does Cape Cod Central relate to Mass Coastal? Is there still an entity called by that name?
They are the same company but have different names. The freight portion is Mass Coastal as Cape Cod Central is the passenger operation.
Wow, deja vu at Sagamore! Did you or the train get yelled at by a NIMBY?
The train, yes. The neighbor just made the “up in arms” hand gesture to me like I could do something about it lol
@@SouthCoastRailVideos "I can get some MORE trains, if ya like!"
Will you be at the Rail Fan day this year on the 19th?
I was!
@@SouthCoastRailVideos nice, so was I. shame i didnt know earlier then i could have told you in person I like your work
I just saw myself 😂
Wish they had advertised this previously was in Bourne sat. Could have gone..
It was well advertised and attended
@@SouthCoastRailVideos Where was it advertised? I didn’t see anything about it and I live here year round…
The railroad’s website and social media pages posted it all over several platforms. I’d say you should regularly check the website next year for an announcement about next time.
Great video!!
Thanks Dan!
