Fantastic work! I made so many paper models as a kid - a lifetime ago. It's channels like yours that have pretty much convinced me to pick it up again. Thanks!
Awesome job dude!! The details are insane. I recently made one as well on my channel with cardboard only :) a long work too. It would be great if you could let me know what you think about it!
do you have somewhere that i could find copies of the templates you used in this? part of me wants to make a star wars legion scale falcon (and a corilian vcx/ the ghost)
I am sorry but I didn't use anything, I just printed some pictures of the falcon and some blueprints I found on Google and then did it using those and eye balling it basically
Well I still have this one, I changed my mind about selling it..but if you re really interested contact me on instagram @dumi_art Or send me a dm here if you prefer
I ran across this video just because It is in falcon kit building and lighting. I already knew how to do this type of building before most of you guys where in diapers. This is amazingly funny What new is so old. well for me is.
This just proves the entry point into scratch building models can be very cheao for someone with not allt ofkney or jsut getting statted in modeling and doesnt wanna soend tons of money on styrene sheets and model kits and stuff for grebles
Wow. On the one hand, it looks great! But somehow, at the same time, it looks like shit! Try upping the GREAT and reducing the SHIT. I dunno how you should go about doing that, but something so potentially GREAT as this model, having such a large quantity of SHIT built in seems like a terrible shame! I mean, I built Star Wars models out of cereal boxes when I was a kid that were MUCH better than this, because they lacked the SHIT, but they didn't have that GREAT factor that this one does, due to lack of, say, paint. I had to use magic markers. How about starting over from scratch, with the intent of not concentrating so much on little things like wrapping copper wire around things inside places that require a LOT more detail, and instead FAKING the GREATNESS. THAT'S how you scratch build a model on the cheap and with limited resources, as opposed to spending 500 bucks on the real model kit. Sorry, but I have to be completely honest, especially since this was something I did as a kid and was quite good at, but was limited to cereal boxes, masking tape, scissors, elmers glue, a ruler, markers, and an eye for EXTREME PRECISION. THAT'S IT. Those were my only resources in the early 80',s living in a one horse town in East Texas, dirt poor, with no access to things like, say, STORES. Oh, and I also had a VCR with a pause button that eventually just fell off and died because that was my main visual resource. Pausing crappy dubbed VHS recordings of the movies. I made Star Trek models, too. Klingon battlecruisers, Enterprise NCC-1701-A, but mostly Star Wars. AT-AT's, AT-ST's, X-Wings, Snowspeeders, Tie Fighters, and of course, yup. The Millennium Falcon. I wish I still had those models from almost 40 years ago, so I could take pictures and show you what's possible to build with a VCR, a cereal box, elmers glue, some pencils and markers, masking tape, a ruler, and a pair of scissors.
It is not currently for sale on my etsy, but if you are interested you can contact me via Etsy and I'll see what I can do!
labor of love right there. I would never have the patience for this.
