The long wait is finally over! It's time for another soundtrack project, and SONIC THE HEDGEHOG has taken the stage. I wanted to get this soundtrack done early for two purposes. First, many of you have been clamoring for me to tackle this project (I see you, Nikos!) and two, I wanted to use it to drive more growth to the channel.
This soundtrack is going to come fast, as I already have all the expansions in my head, but I wanted to take time to get the Title Theme down correctly, to set the tone moving forward. This includes not only the soundtrack, but my decision to jump onto Twitter (now X, love it or hate it), and a push for more Subscribers and Patreon supporters....IF they are inclined n' kind, so to do! I appreciate all the support. Let's jump into a brand new project and have some fun.

@@scmtuk3662 - I am only concentrating on Sonic 1 for now, but I will tackle 2 and 3 in the future. Beyond that, we'll see. First things first!

@@BlueBoltGamer Yes, the copyright to this song is owned by DREAMS COME TRUE, so the Sonic franchise has not been able to use this theme song since 2, with some exceptions.

This song emphasizes how fun and energetic Sonic as a character is but also enforced how strong and firm he is. I LOVE IT
Ok. I love this. The fact that you expanded so much on the original title theme for Sonic 1 really just shows how much potential the soundtrack has to be unique in a Remake.
The main theme for Sonic 1 and 2 is one of my favorite songs in gaming ever, it tells you all you need to know about the blue hedgehog, and you did it justice.
Honestly if it wasn't for Green Hills, I would consider the title theme as Sonic's theme
I really like this remix. The way the synths start sounds fun, bright, and hopeful. The way the alien sliding synth sound really depicts that this is a whole different world so trippy yet so optimistic. The horns playing make it sound like it's someone's birthday for some reason, but I kinda like it because this was the debut of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis. The bass sure gives the game some attitude and personality especially in the title start-up. I like to hear Spring Yard Zone next.
A very pleasant surprise to see such an E&E! I love the video graphics too. Always been impressed by how you bring your tracks to life visually.

I actually did not expect this, great choice, another staple of my childhood. Already looking forward to seeing what you will do with Starlight Zone, Spring Yard, etc. Your take of Green Hills will also be interesting since it was remixed so often... Superb visuals as always! Very positively surprised by the choice!
One of the reasons I wanted to do this soundtrack is because all the expansions are already in my head. I sat through it about 2 months ago, played the entire OST start to finish and I had no trouble at all imagining where I wanted the songs to go. This soundtrack will be snappy, and the releases should come quick. Glad you're diggin' it!
A new project... at last! We're jumping into Sonic the Hedgehog, and what a beginning it was~
You really showed off the Genesis's Blast Processing capabilities with this remix; it's just so light and bouncy! I feel at ease when listening to this song! It's everything that you'd expect kids to love - quick paced, light tone, action-packed, and way past cool
It was great how you slowly started with a soft synth to set the mood, and slowly built up to that familiar theme we all know and love; it honestly sounds like a theme I'd hear in a Sonic Mania TV series or something! And then the extra life theme at the beginning of the outro... I think the song ended perfectly as well~
Of course, I couldn't end this comment without talking about that amazing animation, too - I love the idea of the sections being marked by the end level flags, bearing Eggman's face and being spun over to Sonic once we pass the point in the song. And of course, the choice to bring out Sonic when the main theme starts was an excellent choice

Thanks DrVolk. I've always loved to entertain people and when it comes to music, nothing makes me giddier than watching people's reactions, so I try to structure music the same way. I like to surprise at just the right point, while maximizing the impact. For the big Sonic reveal, I wanted it to coincide with the original theme we all love so much. For the spinning markers, that was something I decided to tack on after getting the idea in my head. I didn't have to, but I wanted to make the whole presentation as fun as possible. It's challenging, takes a lot of time (spent the entire weekend keyframing this video), but the rewards are worth it. Enjoy the rest of the soundtrack. Next track is coming soon.

Fuck yeah! That was amazing. Wasn't sure where it was going at first and doubted I even remembered what the title screen music was. Then the original part came in. Pumped to hear the rest of it. Hoping you do 3&K at some point too, one of my favourite soundtracks of all time. A lot of people prefer Sonic 2 but it's the original and 3&K for me.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (Expanded & Enhanced)?! Why not? The First Part has a lot of Cool Tracks that should definitely sound even cooler in your performance (Especially "Spring Yard Zone", "Star Light Zone" and "Final Zone").
"Green Hill Zone" probably won't surprise me anymore! There are TOO MANY Remixes of this Track! At least I expect the Coolest Remix from you.
I wonder if you could write an "Expanded & Enhanced" version of "E Rank" from "Sonic Unleashed"? Although no, I'd rather wait until you get to "Sonic 3 & Knuckles" with the track "Big Arms". 38^)

The remixes of "Big Arms", both official and made by fans, there are some that leave the bar very high for the "Expanded & Enhanced" that MaestroDraven will do at some point. But I am sure that when that day finally arrives, I will be pleasantly surprised.

So far, I haven't heard a cooler Remix from "Cash Cash" (Not counting the 16-Bit Version of their Track).
But let's not rush the Master Composer yet! Let him first show his Master Class with the First Parts of "Sonic The Hedgehog", and then time will tell.

Hi Steven, the choice of soundtracks really depends on what exactly I can do to them. They do require a rather intense amount of work to replicate from scratch, restructure, and then add material to, so I'm not sure that kind of system would work, but I always take soundtrack suggestions under advisement. OMF2097 has quite a unique soundtrack, but what I might do is a one-shot of individual tracks in the future. Thanks for the really kind support, I appreciate it!

Hey Raphi, i once had a tutorial series up here, but it wasn't getting much traction and I think it was because it was a bit hard to follow. I may make another tutorial series sometime in the future that is more precise and in-depth, but easier to follow. Thanks for the support!

How did you do the video background animation?
Hi Camiseta, it was done by screenshotting the pixel background layers of the game, cleaning them up, constructing full layers in Photoshop, then animating them using keyframe techniques in After Effects. It's quite a process, but a fun one.
