I have a very big question that I have wanted to ask someone in this space too. After panelizing a PCB, if the total board dimension is less than 100mm for instance on JLCPCB you get charged $5 , will I be charged for each panelized board or I will be charged for one board which has different sections(more like the panelization effect). I would love to know this cause I am having to write scripts and manually draw the board outline which is a bit a drag for me. I would love to create repeated sections of a board which altogether will be less than 100mm which I can then break them individually but still get charged for one board???
You can try there online calculator. As per my knowledge, with few of the manufactures the panel (100mm x 100mm) cost will be greater than the PCB (100mm x 100mm). Please mail the fab that you like to use, they might give you a more accurate pricing.
It is not possible to create a panel from different PCBs using Kikit... the multi-board workflow in Kikit is just a way to extract a board from a KiCad board file containing multiple boards...
very useful and clear tutorial, helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
ur a beast man cheers for this
Thank you!
after adding or dragging the Gerber folder in panelizer it is not showing Gerber in zoom fit area or outside ,Please let me know .
Sometimes it will be on the left corner of the screen, partially visible. You can move them with the coordinates on the right pane.
how do you create an updated pnp of that panelized gerber?
doesnt seem to work on kicad 8, crashes immediately after trying to panelize, guess ill have to wait until kikit supports kicad 8
Thanks for reporting! Probably they fix it soon.
@@pcbcupid update: i was able to get it working now, no idea how but... whatever. anyways thanks for the tutorial!! great vid
Gerber Panelizer not work on kicad7 can fix ?
Gerber Panelizer works independently and is not related to KiCad; you can use any Gerber file generated on any CAD application.
Thanks🤩
You're welcome!

Is it possible to do simulation with kicad 7
Yes, But we would recommend you to try multisim / Livewire / Proteus
