You are my favorite painter on RUclips! You have such an informative way of speaking, pleasing to the ear and with a measured economy of words which I so appreciate. The camera work is superb. I love the birds, wildlife, animals and landscapes you select. I have learned so much from you. Thanks so much!
We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful state with gorgeous coastlines. We recently purchased a beach house just above the Barview Jetty. I love painting there.
Goodness me I so love your art. I can pencil draw in detail, charcoal drawing and pastel chalk. I've dabbled in acrylic painting. I'm trying to teach myself watercolor painting. But darn, it's not easy. I follow you and Ellen Crimi-Trent to try and get it. But as soon as I pick up a brush my pieces turn to a great mess. Thanks for your guidance. I will get there eventually. ❤️
I just finished painting this and I think it came out really well! I wanted to see if I could realistically create the reflections on this iconic beach. Thanks to your superior teaching skills it was a great success! Not sure I got the seagull poop right though 🤣 Thank you for sharing your masterful talents! I’ll be back to try more subjects.
I am really looking forward to painting this. My husband and I honeymooned there 37 years ago, staying at a hotel right on the beach. Two years ago I visited there with a high school friend and took many photos of Haystack Rock. I shared this video with her as well. She was so excited to see this too because she started painting in watercolor just a little over a year ago. Cannon Beach/Haystack Rock is her favorite place to visit on the Oregon coast. Thank you so much for posting this. You are one of my favorite watercolor artists on RUclips. I am so thankful to have found your channel. Your teaching style is relaxed, which I appreciate. I am coming from a colored pencil and graphite background. Watercolor painting does have it's own learning curve.
I was just at Cannon Beach 2 weeks ago! I took some pictures hoping to do a watercolor. Thank you for your thoughtful tutorial! I can’t wait to give this a try😊
I paint pet portraits with Acylics, but I'm so glad I found your content!!! I love your tips, techniques and art! I am getting a lot from your color mixes too!
Hello Emily! I just found you through Steve Mitchell and look forward to following you. I gave this a go today and am happy that I did. Thanks for the clear instruction.
So well done! I've had this scene on my To Do List for a while now, so it was really helpful to watch your treatment of the location. I can't decide if I'm going to paint it from photo reference or if I'm going to talk my wife into a road trip to paint it en plein air! Thank you so much for your content.
So any type of pencil will work like a number two? And can I use just blue tape masking blue tape? And do I have to pull the paper out of my book and paint on it separately, so it doesn’t stain other papers in my book?

Great painting Emily! Winsor and Newton professional cotton paper = one of the best - if not the best - wc papers on the market. 🥰

Thanks
Thank you, Carol!

ROAD TRIP!!!
So nice artwork 👌😍😊
Wonderful tutorial, are you from Oregon? Recently discovered your channel, it’s been a big help getting back into art.
I was just visiting when I took the photos at Cannon Beach. I'm in Colorado. :)
Emily what brush are you using with such a fine detailing point?
What brand is your pallet and please share your pallet colors and brans. Thanks

Can you add link to your brushes?
Need some knights on horses in this painting.
I realise the sketch has to be very light but I couldnt see it at all. But otherwise I enjoyed watching the painting part.
