  • The speakers, supposedly improved in the Go:Keys 5 - over the Go:Keys 3 - are unable to handle low frequencies properly and sound horrible, as this video shows.
I recorded the sound of different electric piano settings - the least you can ask from a piano like this - and they all sound terrible, with a lot of noise (first part)
Thinking that there was a flaw in the first piano I received - Roland saw the first part of this video and explained the noise as a factory defect - the store exchanged it for another one that sounds just as bad - they are recorded one after the other in this video - (second part)
Therefore, the defect is to have designed this piano with such a bad quality.
    Shame on Roland ...

It’s just the speakers man try something like studio monitors or plug in some good headphones or if you have a PA system you can do that by ordering a 3.5mm to duel 1/4-inch or 3.5mm to single 1/4-inch depending on what PA you have you will be using the headphone jack as an output but i hope this helps a little

If the guy bought the go keys 5 because it advertised speakers, he shouldn't have to plug in headphones or monitors. It's a valid complaint.

I bought one of these keyboards myself last week, and I discovered the exact same issue. It's a shame that Roland brought this (amazing keyboard) to market with this glaring flaw! Yes plugging it in externally does away with the issues, but I wanted to bring this along to play outside the house without PA and when it sounds this bad... I am considering returning it though I absolutely LOVE it in all other aspects....

Agree, bought one and regretted immediately as the sound was horrible coming out if the speakers.
Am trying to return it and get a refund.
    Really bad design and quality.

Its own speakers are really not good. but the sound engine itself is of high quality. it sounds great even on a low-end studio monitor. This in itself is a silly disclaimer. Especially on a recording made with a phone. Record sound with the built-in USB audio interface, or buy a normal headphone or speaker and try it that way. They say, if you have money for a monkey, you should also have money for bananas.
