- Chase Sexton, in the Schoolboy class, on his SuperMini, was on the same gate drop as Open B. Sexton comes out of the first corner in 2nd place and quickly closes in on the Open B/450F rider out front. 2 stroke vs 4 stroke.

the guy on the 450 is no scrub so for the kid on the 85 to be keeping up is insane especially on a high speed track like this with some bigger jumps props to this kid

John the power to weight ratio of a super mini is impressive. It's practically a 125 engine in an 85 chassis. Super minis are very fast and powerful,especially if the rider knows what he is doing, like this kid
80s even way back in the 1980s had more horsepower to weight than even a 500 back then in 1983 i had a kx 80 dry weight was 133 vs the 500 at 220-227
Watching this in hindsight of his career is no surprise that he was this fast as an amateur

This guy is a king... Does he have it modded to the max??? My 85, even capped out isn't that quick, though I guess that could be because it's all stock and the tires are rounded out. Mad props to this kid.

Is it possible to become at least a decent rider with no professional training or private lessons?
yes of course, to get better all you really need to do is get more bike time and even record your lap times and try beat your quickest lap times, this is helps alot and helps you get better at riding. And a tip is always squat when you are riding the only time you sit down is going through corners the more you squat the better. also watch some rider tips to help you improve.
here's a guy were called free riders or hair scramblers it all equals no fame but local braging rights lol hahahahahahah
there is a lot of good videos also on youtube and other places with pros going over good technique and good habits do's and don'ts etc., main thing is to push yourself, and remember jump for show or corner for dough.

My friend raced 80and 125 pro class in NY would lap dudes on 250 500 class. It's all rider. At Nationals 125 same lap time as 250 and open class.
Props for the chase he was flying so was the guy on the 450 but you would think a bigger bike would dominate a 85 but in this case the faster better rider wins I don’t think Ive would have pulled it off

Motocross evolved because the pipey 2 cycles are difficult to manage in corners while the 4 cycle torque produces an overall faster lap time.

Yea, it's all about skill. The only time the bike does most of the work for you is in a straight line. You can tell when they get on a straight flat surface the 450 puts serious space between them. Lol
