Dequitem is probably the only RUclipsr on the site that can die a horrific death in one to one combat, MULTIPLE TIMES and still continue to upload videos. Truly determined and inspirational.
@@dequitem Eventually you'll have to change the story. You fell from a tree, off a ladder, bull fighting accident, was cleaning leaves from the gutters.

You describing the first one giving your friend a neck injury actually made me feel uneasy, looking at how raw you guys go at it sometimes, damn. Thank you for the incredible content and risking your NECKS out there for these. Definitely one of the best "historical combat" channels.
The amount of bruises, cuts, and broken bones these people must have gotten over the years is kind of concerning. He took a (blunt) throwing spear straight to the inner thigh, that had to have left a nasty bruise. And those hits to the head with the pole hammer must've been nasty.
@AJWhite-qi3jo I feel like after a while you get used to it and start to enjoy the pain and adrenaline (except for obvious injuries), blood memory kicking in. One of the only times you get to experience that "blood rush" in the modern age.
Very interesting to hear you say how changing to a knife changes, or is a progression of a story. Most of your videos despite having very little to no dialogue do feel like a story and great how you can convey that with just actions
It’s no drawn out cinematic “so be it” kind of end. It’s a savage, swift, and frightening crunch of a rondel into the neck or armpits. It’s disturbingly non-personal. No monologues, no emotions, no deliberation. I love honest, real combat, because real men have died this way. It’s not romanticized, it’s terrifying.
It's much more personal than you think, even when you can't see and hear him under the helmet, because you can feel the muscles work under the armor of your opponent and how he is struggling to block you.
You dont upload particularly often as youtubers come but it still surprises you can even upload that often considering how many lasting injuries a lot of these duels seem to cause! Your perseverance is inspirational my friend!

It is interesting to me how many of these "kills" end up with both fighters on the ground in a rolling brawl. I must imagine that in a large battle, this would be less likely, as it might not be so exciting to give up your standing position with enemies very near you -- to get down on top of your opponent to drive a dagger through him with your full weight. So, did that mean someone knocked down in a larger battle was less likely to be finished off with a "dagger kill shot"? Or finished off at all? Any thoughts on this?

Well first off, the quality off your videos is amazing and the fights look awesome. However, after watching so many of your videos I really have to ask. What's the point in wearing plate if your chances off dying is almost certain even if you win the duell? It seems to me from your videos that it's almost impossible to protect the gaps in the armor. Meaning if bouth fighters use swords one will end with a dagger in his eye and the winner bleeds out from all the punctures he got.
Knocking out sparring partners is stupid, but as if you hadn't already outdone yourself you went and double tapped him afterwards? Why does anyone train with you?
Awesome scenes but seeing this does make me worry about CTE since it looks like you take a lot of shots. The gladiator showed some great wrestling and its great to see both you and your opponents show the humility to let the other person work instead of justing trying to win every time.
