It's true, Kele plays the same chord throughout it for the most part and Russel only plays 3 different ones, Gordon's the only one that plays a great deal of different notes in it, so the effect pedal adds a layer of sound that compliments everything else to make it fuller and more unique.
I've comparing their first album when there was a lot more life and feeling into their recordings and live performances, i feel it's gone down hill a bit in that sense. I'm just showing my view so don't dig but i've watched a lot of vids and compared the old and new albums and there's a big difference but not just in style. Anyone agree? But i will say Bloc Party fucking rule they're my favourite band of all time so :D WOOO BLOC PARTY :)
I didn't realize John Lennon came back alive to drum for the Bloc Party...haha the resemblance is there, although not many clear shots of the drummer (for obvious reasons...lol)
there just not a band that ace live performences if you want to hear the music, go to see them, if you want to be entertained, go see the Kaiser Chiefs
Bloc Party, while amazingly awesome, are the opposite of Muse - they aren't as good live (imo) as they are in their studio stuff. (Muse, by contrast, our brilliant in their studio stuff, and even better live.)
