      Exactly. Most items are only worth what you can convince someone to pay for that item. Just like gold or diamond jewelry, they're only "worth" so much because thousands of years ago somebody convinced a wealthy moron that it was worth a ton of money.

      @Dakota-e6r Diamonds at least have many practical uses, but to your point they were artificially made to seem rare. And now we have lab-made diamonds. The only real difference is that lab diamonds are actually structurally superior at a molecular level, lacking the impurities and distortions found in most natural stones. Yet, jewelers have shrewdly rebranded literal perfection as a 'flaw.' The sad part is that they were successful even though it's just an arbitrary distinction used solely to justify the skyrocketing premiums on natural diamonds. This difference is invisible to the human eye and has zero effect on the stone's structural integrity.

      Or to sit in front of a screen showing how many expensive watches you have and how many bags of money you have casually lying around. It looks silly and a huge turnoff. EG, we know Denzel Washington is wealthy, and many respect him. But I don't think they would respect him as much if he acted like Floyd, showing off his cars and wealth to feel good about himself. It smacks of low class mindset.

      @dangrimes5078 Month ago +5

      good point

    • @TheRealAceGunner
      @TheRealAceGunner Month ago +8

      When you say “money doesn’t buy class,” you’re creating a shallow moral hierarchy. You’re separating “class” from wealth as if it’s some morally superior category, while ignoring that what society calls class is often shaped by access, exposure, and resources.
      On top of that, the phrase reinforces a social norm that pressures people to perform in ways that are socially rewarded. It implies there’s a superior way to behave, speak, or carry oneself - but that “superiority” is often just conformity to group expectations.
      So what’s being praised isn’t necessarily autonomy or character - it’s alignment with social pressure. That’s not moral elevation. That’s social conditioning presented as virtue. So, in other words, your comment means nothing...

    • @marvingoins
      @marvingoins Month ago +11

      @TheRealAceGunner nice try guy but no there IS a morally superior way to act and to be and carry oneself that’s what the Bible is for, to teach ppl how to treat one another to make the world a better place for mankind to coexist not “social pressure” which is a weak way to excuse yourself for being a shitty person. Money and morals are two separate things, the problem is ppl sacrifice morals to get money then call themselves superior bc they can buy more things which is the root of where most all evil comes from, the love of money and you just exhibited that w your comment, which in fact means nothing

    • @TheRealAceGunner
      @TheRealAceGunner Month ago

      @marvingoins You said money and morals are separate. So having millions or taking on large financial obligations doesn’t automatically prove someone sacrificed their morals. That connection only exists if you can show an actual immoral action - not just a large number.
      You’re also talking about the “love of money,” which is a heart issue. You don’t know Floyd personally, and you don’t know my heart either. Seeing someone’s lifestyle or scale of business doesn’t give you access to their motives.
      All I said was that scale doesn’t equal greed. Instead of addressing that point, you jumped to accusing me of loving money. That’s not evidence - that’s assumption.
      If someone lied, cheated, exploited people, or harmed others, then call that out. But don’t confuse financial scale with moral failure just because it’s big.

    • @marvingoins
      @marvingoins Month ago +6

      @TheRealAceGunner I didn’t claim to know the heart of you or Floyd I just simply made the point that money and morals are two separate things which is true, not saying that you can’t have both but in todays society it’s almost a requirement to sacrifice Godly principles in order to get ahead financially unless you’re just a top athlete or something, not saying you can’t become rich or become wealthy honoring God but when you flaunt and make money your imagine that can be a piece of the antithesis of carrying his principles w you.
      You said that being a good person is more of a societal pressure thing to fit in if you will, when in actuality these things come from the Bible like I said before on how to treat ppl and carry oneself to make the world more habitable for each other. It doesn’t change the fact that ppl use money or their bank accounts to excuse erratic behavior as if having money gives them the pass to do whatever to whoever they please and that will never not be wrong.
      Societal norms again are rooted on what everyone can agree is fair play and standards God himself put in place, if someone just came up and punched you in the face you wouldn’t say “well they aren’t wrong for that just bc society says that’s not cool” you would be pissed and more than likely retaliate, if your brother or close friend slept w your wife or gf you wouldn’t say “well can’t say they’re wrong just bc most ppl would agree that’s foul” it’s widespread for that to be a violation and you would at the very least cut them all off, see what I’m getting at?

      A lot of luxury watches have consistent value increases, particularly audemars piget and breguet right now (not really rolex but they are guaranteed to not drop unless customized). • @ManInTheStreet105
      @ManInTheStreet105 Month ago +13

      No. Floyd’s KO ratio dropped drastically once he hit 147. He was never a power puncher and had well documented hand issues. He was out of shape, in his 50s and 4 weight divisions below Logan.
      Logan is no boxer but he’s learnt the basics and he’s an athlete in his own right. It’s not like he’s a chubby couch potato. He has a wrestling background. He’s was also half the age of Floyd and much more active. It was a blown up welterweight against a lean cruiser weight. Floyd should still win and if the bout was scored, he would have. However, to expect a knockout with all those factors considered, is simply ludicrous.

    • @Freefall347
      @Freefall347 Month ago

      @ManInTheStreet105 my understanding is, and has been since the fight happened, that it was an exhibition match. When Logan tried telling Jake that he (Logan) was the better boxer of the 2, and he used his Mayweather fight as evidence, Jake just flat out told him it was just an exhibition fight, to his face. So I'm pretty sure Mayweather was not only taking it easy, but he was supposed to take it easy, because it wasn't a real fight (at least to him; maybe Logan was going hard).

      I agree. As long as you aren’t a Pedo or rapist, nobody deserves ill will or a downfall. Humble or not, Floyd employed a shit ton of people who most likely never would of had a descent paying job and made them rich. He paid friends houses off. Haters gonna hate.
