The biggest problem in Poland is that they have no fixed interval timetable. Trains can run in such weird patterns and so infrequently that it becomes quite hard to actually get somewhere from time to time. A great example is the local service between Szczecin and Kostrzyn nad Odrą, which in the morning is almost exclusively trains towards Szczecin, and almost nothing the other way. It’s the same thing the other way round in the afternoon and evening. Once Poland fixed that their railways will become much easier and more convenient to use.
