I am amazed by the tourists attitude. Why do they lean on or against the horse , and grab the reins. Can't they stand on their own two feet. Well done to the Trooper.

They should not be touching or petting the horses at all during their duties. Rules are going to have to change eventually as more people are so disrespectful toward service animals/working animals.
I've been a military police officer (did a less glamorous similar duty to these guards) and a tow truck driver and let me tell you something about reading... most people treat literacy like a burden or a deadly tumor they are forces to carry around and absolutely will NOT EVER read anything even if it means helping themselves. Giant white arrow painted on the road? Too confusing. Car broke down in a dangerous neighborhood? Can't be bothered to read a street sign with 1 word on it or look around for a number on a building. Most people would rather step on a landmine than read, unless it's a McDonald's menu, but I've noticed it's mostly just pictures on tv now...
There should be a hatched area marked on the pavement which is a no go area for anyone except military/police.....these people are a bl....y nuisance and disrespectful
That’s why the guard shouted, he lets everyone stroke the horse but won’t let anyone touch the reins, since I’ve ridden horses before I understand why, riders need control of the horse with the reins so if people touch the reins then the rider has less control of the reins
Poking the reins means a loss of control for the soldier. That silly woman could make the horse behave in an unpredictable manner, potentially causing injury.
Here's a "Top Tourist Tip" (did you like the alliteration, there!): when I was the father of 3 little boys, I would take them there on the way home from Nursery, stand calmly to one side, whilst speaking softly, so that the Trooper could hear me and my boy's questions and answers about matters equine (the horse's name is on a bridle-piece, underneath the noseband, for example). When it came time for the obligatory photograph, I would tell my boys what we intended to do (again, so the Trooper could hear) and EVERY time, the soldier would cooperate; courtesy, communication and care (more alliteration!) is all that's needed, at the stressful guard post.
I agree 100% I have so much honor in my heart. For the work that they put into everything they do I'm over here across the pond but it makes me want to go there I'd buy them a pint or 6
When will people realise that you do not mess around with the Queen's, now King's guards. They are not there just purely for decoration. Each one is a serving soldier and will react as such if someone gets in the way
Why do people think that it is ok to invade the space of the guard and their horse? Then get surprised and angry when the guard tells them to move or stop what they are doing.
They pickup every little trinket in the souvenir shops, look at it, and put it back on the shelf. The palace guards and their horses are not bloody trinkets.
Respect for the royal guard means we never touch, not even the horses. The royal guard allows photography next to them, but always keep a distance from the guard and the horses. Every guard can't explain all the time. Tourists who do not know, should be informed before visiting the royal palace
People don't understand that putting your hand on or taking hold of the reins is like someone putting their hand on your steering wheel while you are driving. In truth you really shouldn't even pat the horse. While theirs are well trained, there's always the risk that the horse may react (to your perfume, moisturizer, jewelry, or simply be tired of the invasion of personal space) - and you'll get quite the kick (well deserved too).
That's 2 different people I've seen doing this to this same guard and her horse. As an ex groom I can honestly tell you... Never mess around with a strange horse. You would not approach and mess with a strange person so why do it to an animal that you don't know and that does not know you ?
She looks so utterly shocked and insulted... lol... as if she can't understand that the toy soldier suddenly came to life and, of all things, _scolded_ her for just taking a picture. Yet, if I would walk into her office, lay my hand on her keyboard and smile for a photo, she'd probably call the police...
Although the officer, doesn't seem to mind people stroking the horse, it's when they have the audacity to hold the bridle &/or rains etc, that there's a problem... AND HERE'S WHY FOLK!... This is how a mounted officer controls the horse! These horses, which are well trained soldiers too & also are weapons, are more than fully capable of hurting someone! These people are so thoughtless! Also in all these clips of people taking photos i have yet to see ONE say 'thank you' to the very patient rider! Maybe a sign needs to be up to stay 1-2 meters away from the horse when taking photos.
I had my photo taken standing next to one of these mounted guards. It didn't enter my head to even try to touch the horse. It's not my horse to touch! Plus it's working!
Good for her. I love it when the guards yell at morons. Yes, they are a tourist attraction but they are also WORKING. Would you just walk up to a civilian and touch their tools? You'd likely get more than yelled at from them so please, respect the guards and their personal space.
There seems to be so many instances where people touch the reins so perhaps they should add a line to those notices to tell people not to do it. It might help.
There needs to be an adaptation for modern times. A line of M4 armed guards need to set a perimeter to preserve the dignity and safety of the guards. The public are no longer to be trusted to act in a dignified manner. A line of M4's will fix that
This particular rider is just a little, angry nobody, who screams at people constantly. If it is such an issue, just add to the sign not to touch the horses or their tack.
To be fair, all of the others were touching and they did not say a word. And the guard could have given a first warning in a normal voice. It's not like they are anything more than window dressing anyway.

I saw one video earlier, where the idiot actually put his hand on the Guard's knee! Why did he think that was acceptable?
Ought to have a sign warning tourists to keep their hands off the reins.....written in every language !
Idiots should already know that.
Haven’t got a wall big enough
Wouldn't make any difference, it's just like if you are out walking your dog and someone comes over and insists on rubbing your dog and when you tell them no there is a mouthful of abuse. No one puts their hands on my dog, the horses and riders should be left alone, it's bad enough having to put up with the heat without having to put up with annoying tourists.
@@walterlatham8851 yes, so true.
What the hell for? They still won't obey. Nobody reads signs anymore, everyone feels entitled and call people names like Karens or Kevins for offering and respecting and warning others to obey.
If you want to touch a horse, go to a petting zoo. This is the Queen's Guards job!
When that soldier yelled at her - priceless!
I think that soldier ought to be able to use her sword for ‘Darwin Award’ moments like these.
Her its a woman
@@anitathrusfieldgrunter1551 thank you for the correction much appreciated! 😉👍
I am amazed by the tourists attitude. Why do they lean on or against the horse , and grab the reins.
Can't they stand on their own two feet.
Well done to the Trooper.
They should not be allowed to touch the horse’s at all I am sure they get fed up with it and it is just not on grabbing the reigns they make me so mad what is wrong with people ? The other day a young girl about 4 kept going in the arch from behind the horse’s right up to their hind legs where were the parents beggers belief if that horse got spooked and kicked out that child could have been badly injured disgusting .
Tourists Really are the most Disrespectful When it comes to Visiting Other Countries. I Admire this Beautiful Guard and This Beautiful Horse. If You Were to act Like This in Say North Korea you would Be Tortured and Kept Locked Up. RESPECT Please Human's. "In The Arm's Of The Angel's and into The Arm's of your Mum and Prince Phillip Beautiful Soul Queen Elizabeth II" Never Will your Light Go Out 🕊🕯🌹Kindest Thoughts to all and your families and Furbabies from Australia x
They should not be touching or petting the horses at all during their duties. Rules are going to have to change eventually as more people are so disrespectful toward service animals/working animals.
Yea folks go up to the police dog and rub his head. Lol
You think that guard is disabled? 🤣
@@littlebitofhope1489 You sure are.
@@Hels_Angels Sounds like you are ableist.
It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to actually have a sign that states "Do not touch the reins of the horse".
It’s an idea, however you wouldn’t grab hold of a steering wheel whilst it’s working just for a photo.
But would they read???😵💫
That means you assume people can read XD
People don't read signs...it's one reason why there are so many car accidents.
Fabulous guards and horses I could look at them all dayx
🤣🤣🤣
Tourists ....such dopes at times. These are not pets, these are highly trained guards and horses.
There should be a hatched area marked on the pavement which is a no go area for anyone except military/police.....these people are a bl....y nuisance and disrespectful
the woman who touched the horse is greek at 1:54, she spoke greek saying oh my "holy mother" in greek axaxaxxaa
the lack of respect is astounding, but this what happens with weak brained selfish people
Yes, that silly useless bit of window dressing should be more polite to the public.
@@littlebitofhope1489 idiot, the horse and rider is Military and there is a sign with very simple instructions for the weak of mind like you
the woman who touched the horse is greek at 1:54, she spoke greek saying oh my "holy mother" in greek axaxaxxaa
@@marioglory8528 so what ? is it ok because she is Greek ? a little bit or respect and common sense goes a long way regardless of where you are from
@@brucefraser4778 no its not ok, u think upside down, i talk greek so i got it faster axaxaxaxaxax funny shit
Served her right .....fool 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Agreed. Stupid woman?
Honestly they should put a sign saying simply = 'Hands Off The Reins' in red, under the 'may bite' sign
The guards rarely bite people to be fair:-)
the woman who touched the horse is greek at 1:54, she spoke greek saying oh my "holy mother" in greek axaxaxxaa
That’s why the guard shouted, he lets everyone stroke the horse but won’t let anyone touch the reins, since I’ve ridden horses before I understand why, riders need control of the horse with the reins so if people touch the reins then the rider has less control of the reins
Well, if they have a sign about Horses may bite and don’t take any notice why would the take notice of any other sign?
It’s simple, don’t touch the reins!…
the woman who touched the horse is greek at 1:54, she spoke greek saying oh my "holy mother" in greek axaxaxxaa
@@marioglory8528 change the record. Its boring. Whether they speak English or not, any intelligent person wouldn't grab them
Poking the reins means a loss of control for the soldier. That silly woman could make the horse behave in an unpredictable manner, potentially causing injury.
Love that there is a sign about horses may bite or kick but not one of these ignorant people take any notice and just touch and grab at the reins.
Not to mention the "beware the horses may kick or bite" sign. I have no patients for people who have no common sense, but c'mon there's a sign!
But it’s not in Greek!
For the work that they put into everything they do I'm over here across the pond but it makes me want to go there I'd buy them a pint or 6
What makes people be so disrespectful!! I'm surprised people are allowed to get that close!!
When will people realise that you do not mess around with the Queen's, now King's guards. They are not there just purely for decoration. Each one is a serving soldier and will react as such if someone gets in the way
Exactly look and do not touch the rains show respect to the guards 😤
Shouldn't even touch the horse , its a working animal , you wouldn't keep touching a guide dog when working , bloody tourists have no respect
That is a silly comparison.
@Real Aiglon their still a working animal
Why do people think that it is ok to invade the space of the guard and their horse? Then get surprised and angry when the guard tells them to move or stop what they are doing.
They pickup every little trinket in the souvenir shops, look at it, and put it back on the shelf. The palace guards and their horses are not bloody trinkets.
These are the same type of muppets that sees a sign saying" Wet Paint'........and touch it anyway to see if it's wet
These people are too much. If the horse bit them, I'm sure they'd sue.
Neigh chance.🤔x
Respect the horse.
There is a big sign but they just think the guard and horse is there for their selfie..
I would love to see one good bite when they all crowd in...
These guards are there doing their jobs, not a damn photo shoot 🙄
Don't be so stupid. They are not guarding anything, they are strictly on location specifically for the tourists.
Respect for the royal guard means we never touch, not even the horses. The royal guard allows photography next to them, but always keep a distance from the guard and the horses. Every guard can't explain all the time. Tourists who do not know, should be informed before visiting the royal palace
If it doesn’t belong to you, don’t touch.
But then the ignorant little darlings would sue.
@@janem.hunt-webb7463 The case would be thrown out, the signs are pretty obvious.
The public should not be allowed to get so close to the guards and the horses. There should be a barrier.
thier is only so much patience you must have working there everyday with the public.
Rightly done!
That's 2 different people I've seen doing this to this same guard and her horse. As an ex groom I can honestly tell you... Never mess around with a strange horse. You would not approach and mess with a strange person so why do it to an animal that you don't know and that does not know you ?
Hi how are you doing?
She looks so utterly shocked and insulted... lol... as if she can't understand that the toy soldier suddenly came to life and, of all things, _scolded_ her for just taking a picture.
Yet, if I would walk into her office, lay my hand on her keyboard and smile for a photo, she'd probably call the police...
There should be penalties once warned!
Do people not realize that horses could give you a nasty bite... Why are they even allowed to get that close !!
That is one sharp young lady… to achieve this status is remarkable..
You should not be allowed to touch them in the first place.
So patient horse and rider.
The only visitor attraction in London that doesn't worry about it's Tripadvisor score.
How he contained himself is beyond me,I would of lost my cool allot sooner. Lol
If someone is holding onto the reins/bridle & the officer needs to move the horse, the signal is stopped/changed & horse doesn't know what is wanted from it...
It's like walking up to an armed guard/police officer & holding onto their gun... Taking hold of the reins, is basically, taking hold of the soldiers weapon...
Plus, these horse are not only regarded as part of the soldiers weaponry, but they are also trained officers in the Kings (Queens) Guard, in their own right!
Show respect to our guards WHI are serving soldiers
They have a principle job + if you interfere with that there could/would be consequences… great job done well!
There’s no answer to stupidity
Exactly right. You can't fix stupid.
Old Lady: Can I pet your dog?
Owner: Sure
*Old lady grabs leash*
🤦
Good for her. I love it when the guards yell at morons. Yes, they are a tourist attraction but they are also WORKING. Would you just walk up to a civilian and touch their tools? You'd likely get more than yelled at from them so please, respect the guards and their personal space.
Those reins seem to be impossible to resist for some people. They have to hold them. Like this woman here.
People rathers it's the Queen's or kings guard horse or someone in your back yard Don't touch the reins !!!!!.
TBH they should actually write Get Off the Reins on that board.
There seems to be so many instances where people touch the reins so perhaps they should add a line to those notices to tell people not to do it. It might help.
Well said!
They are On Guard. They are
Real armed troops, not Disney Charatcers.
There needs to be an adaptation for modern times. A line of M4 armed guards need to set a perimeter to preserve the dignity and safety of the guards. The public are no longer to be trusted to act in a dignified manner. A line of M4's will fix that
Im just lost for words 😡🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
This particular rider is just a little, angry nobody, who screams at people constantly. If it is such an issue, just add to the sign not to touch the horses or their tack.
If you look on the left to the guard, there is a sign that states horse could kick or bite
Some tourists do not have common sense, they do not know what they are doing. They think it is all right to touch anything.😲😲😲😲
To be fair, all of the others were touching and they did not say a word. And the guard could have given a first warning in a normal voice. It's not like they are anything more than window dressing anyway.
huge sign, horses can bite and kick.... Tourists... lets go touch that horse.
I don’t know why people are allowed so close. The horse is working, don’t touch it.
Very much like the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown at Arlington.
Such lack of respect people have. Take your picture, don’t touch
You don't grab a strangers steering wheel, the throttle on his motorbike or the reins of their horses... its basics!!!
The woman looked so offended lmao
Total lack of Respect. folk should never ever touch a military horse especially when on Duty, They are working . Glad the soldier shouted at her.🇬🇧👍
