I'm absolutely thrilled! Huge thanks, Olly, for such a detailed review of the Wing FG board from Armstrong Foils. Your experience and clear description helped me better understand how versatile this board truly is. I've been into wake foiling for quite some time, and your video was exactly what I needed to see.

I have a 34 and 60L FG boards, at 79kg as well, love my 34, but can be hit or miss on a semi strong days. Need to be wind deprived/desperate to go on 60L, such a different feel… don’t think I’ll be buying anything new to support already overblown industry but having 1 board that can do both would be nice. Reducing and resisting buying “latest and greatest” is my modo, have only 1 foil, helps a lot with the anxiety/ paradox of choice.

I’ve contemplated one of these for prone foiling. And then once I learn how to wing with my big ass SUP, I’d like to drop down to this setup.

Wind looks light in first clips curious what range was?

First few clips, 0-12 knots. Had to wait for a good gust and work pretty hard to get on foil. My prone experience pumping helps a lot, once I get the nose off water I pretty much can pump my way onto foil and use the wing to also generate speed following. From there, try not to goof it and stay on foil 😆

Great info and filming/editing/music as always, Thnx! At 40 liters it's pretty small for lightwind winging. Old 50L should get up in lighter wind tho (at least that was what I heard from other reviews but they may be wrong then??), but everything else you said makes sense.

As per video. The upgrade in design has allowed for a 10L reduction for a comparable experience. My testimony is relative to me, my skill and experience. I’m not saying go get a 40L, I’m saying I’ve ditched 10L. You could too.

Hey Olly. I weigh 85kg, I jump pretty often. Do you ever get any board pressure dings or dents from heel strike when landing?

No I haven't had any ding issues at all on the deck, even jumping.

Great review thx. Gotta love indo! I’m happy with the take off of the 50l in windy conditions, but not light. would like to ditch it and a 38l prone board to have one less in the rack. Soo with 10l less is it really as easy to get winging? Thx Olly

I think in your situation where your 50L and 38L are not light wind boards, the 40L will easily replace them both. With the new HA foils bringing some of the DW foil tech into them, we will see great pairing of easy start performance boards and foils to give us all an upgrade!
