With Patrick Tuipulotu starting in the SP Final this week, I would 100% put him in my ABs squad and take out Quinten Strange
Yes I aggree
“He’s so young for his age” - You make me laugh sometimes 😂 Appreciate what you do Rugby Itch.
Thanks 😂

15. Sam Perofeta
I think you are pretty spot on with your predictions. Id like to see walker lawere in there as an extra lock, and I think they might put Finau in lock category but obviously it is a 6.
Appreciate it , Isaia Walker-Leawere done well this season, has that x-factor quality but his discipline lets him down so that why I went with Darry over him, again tough decision as IWL is pretty good. Also agree that Finau can be used within the lineouts, he's been good for the Chiefs.
They’ll need size at lock to compensate for a smaller loosies, and leawere have the sizes to complement scott at lock. Adding weight to the scrum pack
Finau will stay in as one of the loosie selections. There will probably be 4 proper locks selected as they need them for training purposes same with having 3 Loosies on each side.
My personal changes from this team
Patty for Strange
Jacobson for Blackadder
Shooter/Love for Perofeta
Fair choices, can see all of them doing well for the ABs
Yep I would do exactly the same with Tuipulotu and Jacobson (has been an absolute rock since moving to 7) but also have both Love and Stevenson and drop Perofeta and a winger.
yeap
The all blacks team is very solid. Just tiny issues at 9 and 10 combinations. Another factor is Razor transitioning the winning form of the crusaders to the all blacks against experienced coaches like Joe Schmidt, rassie ..... A debuting coach required to perform at a different level of pressure. All in all , bring on international rugby...us the fans will have a blast no matter who plays.
Also can't wait for international rugby to be back! 🔥
15 tests this year- I'll be happy if we win 11, gotta keep bled though- that's non-negotiable.
Great video. I think you could be on the money bar a couple of positions - ie Fullback, wing
Appreciate it, agree that some players can be moved in and out, particularity the fullback position as there are many to choose from!
Good team but then You picked Perofeta
Haha, even now I’m second guessing my choice. My thinking behind Perofeta was purely on the basis that if Dmac were to play at 10 Beauden at 15 he can cover both positions off the bench but at the same time Jordie can cover both as well so maybe a player like Quinn Tupaea would be better as he can play both centers spots and 14 if needed
@@rugbyitchyou need another fullback. 2 actual fullbacks and 2 actual fly halves. You will need them for training purposes, enough players of every position for two teams.
Great picks. Would have to include IWL ahead of Strange though, and Fakatava over Ratima for now
IWL is a solid pick but with Tuipulotu now officially back in time for the SRP final he would 100% get in now, although you still can go with him as the 4th option but I prefer Darry over him
@@rugbyitchTuipulotu and Walker-Leawere are similar playing styles and builds. Darry offers extra height in the kineouts.
Ratima has been in great form and has had 2 solid seasons for the Chiefs.😊
Pretty accurate I think, but Tuipolotu will definitely be there and I bout Sititi will. Lakai, Jacobson or Iose instead.
Thanks, as I mentioned above Tuipulotu 100% get in depending on his fitness following the final and I would be happy to switch Sititi for any of the players you have mentioned 👍
I've been thinking. After the comment from Razor recently saying he asked everyone to keep an open mind regarding selecting overseas based players. And then seeing R-Mo playing club rugby this weekend (like Ardie, Baeuden and Newel) he might actually get selected 🙄 why else would he play club footy
If that were the case, then All Blacks fans would not mind at all, but at the same time I want to see Mckenzie get his chance at 10, he deserves it 🤝
Good team. I really rate Harry Plummer, but I doubt he'll get in
Perenara has always been too slow in his ball delivery in my opinion even in his prime.
For the centers i think Aumua deserve a shot the ABs havent had a genuine strong ball carrier in the midfeild since Laumape and hansen screwed that up.
Its so important in the modern game to have someone who can carry hard i hope we dont let him go overseas like Laumape, these kind of players only come a long once in a while.
Fairs, get your point with Perenara but Aumua I don't think has done enough this year to get selected, I agree that he has a similar profile to Laumape but I would choose Quinn Tupaea over him. (Also was gutted that Laumape didn't get more opportunities in a ABs jersey 😢)
Aumua at centre unfortunately is too slow on defence , his main asset of being a ball crasher is negated by his defence , for every score he tries , he leaks 3 to the opposing team
Aumua struggled to get a starting spot for Crusaders at the backend of the season. He won't get selected.
Harry plummer should be given the backup ten spot BB should be utility fullback.
The ABs really need to build depth at 10 with mounga gone, BB is not a long term answer he hasnt played well at 10 for years now especially at test level.
Imo his body type is suited for fullback not a 10
Fair shout, Plummer has had his best season for the Blues so would be to cool to see him rewarded. In terms of BB, agreed that he's more of a 15 now than a 10 but he can certainly do the job at 10 if needed.
Plumber is mid.
Good off the boot but gets lost in the flow of the game sometimes.
Choose Ruben love
I would have Luke Jacobson instead of Blackadder, then either Satiti or Lakai.
Blackadder will get injured and all that time could have been used to blood someone else
Fairs, good point, I would not be opposed to any of the options you have listed, all have had good seasons 👍
Jacobson under razors mentor would be epic
Ruben Love!!!!!
Love is best fullback. IMO.
Fairs, he's been great for the Hurricanes this year, would not be surprised if he gets selected 👍
But he won't start for ABS😂
Might choose Cullen Grace at backup 6 behind Finau. Great at lineouts and one of the few really bright lights of the Crusaders season
Great shout, Cullen grace would be a good addition and cover 6 and 8 so offers versatility which is nice to have.
@@rugbyitch been knocking for a couple seasons too- and a 'sader
Got to have Luke Jacobson over Wallace but good team overall.
Fairs, definitely has a good chance in being selected, just feel Wallace Sititi offers that X factor quality 🙌
yeap
Can’t papalii play 8?
Yes he can but he hasn't in a long time plays 7 for the Blues regularly and either 6 or 7 for the ABs
Whats with people choosing blackadder he was good two years ago but some have surpassed him now. I would take lakai over Blackadder any day. Too many old heads there and we need new blood to be managed in this space now.
Fairs, I actually agree with you overall as this is the start of a new cycle and Razor should be developing more depth for the future but I also do think there are some players who have not been able to reach their potential in the ABs and I believe Razor can get the best out of Blackadder.
Think you nailed everything, barring Sititi, he's not getting in on his first year. But you lost me when you picked Perofeta over Love who has been the best 15 the whole year in NZ, also played All Blacks XV last year against Ireland under Leon Macdonald who is selecting the back three.
It was actually disrespectful leaving him out, he's probably the starting 15
I made the decision that Ardie Savea is going to be a 7 for my squad, so that meant I could go with another 8 so I picked Sititi, but understand your point. Perofeta over Love was a difficult choice but would happily have love selected as hes played well for the canes this season.
@@rugbyitch that might be the case with Savea, but then Iose is next in line. Not a rookie who is playing his first real year, especially in the first squad, might get in the 36 for the rugby championship.
It's not a tough choice though, Love is better than Perofeta and his form thea last two years is miles better, he can also cover 10
@@rubendutoit586 At the end of the day I would still pick Wallace Sititi over Iose, and even Lakai over Lose as well. In terms of perofeta he has been better than Love in the previous years but this year love has been the better player so that’s why it was a tough choice.
@@rugbyitch that's fair, it's your opinion Iose has been in top form for two seasons now, Sititi has been in top form for 3 or 4 weeks, he needs time.
I honestly don't think Perofeta is anywhere near the player what Love is.
I do however prefer him over Stevenson
@@rubendutoit586 fairs, respect your opinion 👍
Where is Harry Plummer on this list. Has had a better season than McKenzie in my opinion. Plus he seems like an ideal 10. Both McKenzie and Barrett play 15 too we need a player like Plummer who is a traditional 10
Good shout, he has really stepped up for the Blues this year but I still have a bit of uncertainty over him, again would be great to see him in a ABs jersey coming from a Blues fan 😅
@@rugbyitch I’m a canes fan but can 100% say that Harry Plummer has been my favourite player to watch this season. Although the uncertainty looms I believe if given the chance with the team he has around him which if not better than the blues will be close to. He can do a good job. Plus will be about 30 when the next World Cup comes around
Sotutu tackle stats worry me...he likes to go forward with the ball ...but he doesnt tackle that often compred to Akira or Papalii at 200 tackles he is only 130
Fair point but the ABs will be willing to accept that as his passing ability, line-out experience and ball carrying is very good, and has a knack for scoring tries 😁
I would not go for Christie..... you need flair, someone who thinks outside the box.... I'd go Tava or Funaki....I think Christie is more suited to Super Rugby...thank God for PJ.... now this is a half back that create a miracle when needed to lift his side....
I do like Folau Fakatava a lot but feel he needs one more season, same with Funaki. In terms of Christie, I agree he maybe more suited to SR but also feel hes the best passer and box kicker out the scrum-halfs I've selected, which is good as I want some differences.
Perenara? Too old, too slow.
He's been pretty good for the canes this year and has the experience, so feel his selection would be justified
But he'll make AB's he was one of super rugby's top scrum halves he's in the top 5
My first test All Black team vs England
De Groot
Taylor
Lomax
Tuipulotu/Va'ai
Barrett
Finau
Christie
Sotutu
Perenara
Perofeta
Barrett
Ioane
Telea
Clarke
Jordan/Love
Reserves:
Newell
Taukeiaho/Aumua
Williams
Va'ai/Walker-Leware - I think Robertson will go with Strange
Jacobsen
Christie
Leniert Brown
Mackenzie
Nice team, surprised to see no Ardie in your lineup as well as Dmac on the bench but overall solid lineup 👍
So you leave the best player in the world out of the team altogether, glad your not a selector 😂
@@rugbyitch Savea is playing overseas! If he wants to play for the ABs - like everyone else play rugby in NZ!!!!
As for MacKenzie - you could start him at 10! I use to have a massive problem with MacKenzie
1) He is not a 10 because he could not drive a team around the park especially at test level. In 2024 there seems to be better game control from him but remember his first instinct is to run
2) If the ABs play him at 15 well we know what the Boks are going to do - bomb every moment they can because he is short
@@tomjones9097 Yeah who is the best player in the world?
@@thefobbie0034 keep up to date, savea went on sabbatical same reason as B barrett who you just selected in your team
