I just watched the live after it was recorded. Had to comment on anyone saying you don't work. That makes me beyond angry! Being a stay at home mom is the most important job there is. Taking care of a medically fragile child is one of the most challenging, difficult, and down right scary jobs you can do. You make all of your jobs look like play! That is why these ignorant people think you have it easy. Stay your positive, beautiful, kind, loving, and caring self. I am strong and I am sure I couldn't handle all that you and Gio do. I love your whole family so much. I appreciate you sharing a lot your world with us beyond measure. Thank you for including Cindi too! She is an absolute treasure ❤

I got really bad earache with the pressure. I bought these things at a drug store they are literally called "ear planes"? Not sure ask the pharmacist. They go in your ears. Once I used them I never got that horrible pain....it was so so bad.So look for them they're just small plugs that go in your ears and are soft and not uncomfortable.

As for the plane tickets, any child over 2 requires their own ticket. But, given that Sebastian is special needs, there could be special arrangements made. I’d contact the airline and ask them what accommodations are available for Sebastian.
I’m so excited for Sebastian to go on his first big trip and plane ride! ❤

Hi, I'm a mom, grandma and great grandma of special needs kids and grandkids so I get it. The first thing I want to say is: start making phone calls and emails. Explain your citation in 1 letter then send it to the food manufacturers, and airlines regarding car seat, ear, food, and medicine bottle rupture due to cabin pressure.
You and Geo are such wonderful parents. I love watching you guys with your darling little guy. This world needs more people like you. Have fun on your trip. I'll be watching.

You should get Sebastian his own seat on the plane. And use an approved car seat. If the plane has any issues and there is terrible turbulence or drops suddenly in altitude you do not want him to become a human projectile. This is very, very important.

I would talk to the airlines and tsa about his food, meds, car seats , oxygen, etc. I know my mom had to do special things for traveling with her meds. It has been a while since she has flown so I don’t know if there are new things on that. The airlines and tsa can help with all your questions ❤ I would recommend the long sleeve and leg outfits for the sun and water and keep a hat on him and shaded as much as possible. The sun is much stronger in the tropical climate. Reflected off sand and water. His excitement when you mentioned food was too cute. I love that he rolls his eyes 😂 watching this has made me hungry 😢

Watch another Mom with medically fragile child who mails/ships items to the locations they are staying. Example; bottled home drinking water; clothing; diapers; wipes; special tube foods; equipment for tube replacement and feeds; bath chair. Easier than trying to get all the needed items through TSA onto the plane and off the plane. Planning for the worst means you're prepared for anything and will have a great trip.

  • @DesMowadeng

Shane, from Squirmy and Grubs RUclips channel, is a disabled man who is smaller than average and when he travels he does so in a car seat placed in the airplane seat. You may have to ask for a seat belt extender though and it may be safer to do that instead of in your lap. For sunscreen in extremely hotter temps SPF 50 may be the best, especially if he burns easily. His feeds are technically a medical need, so it's best to check with a TSA or someone on airport staff who deals with disabilities, but people travel with coolers that they place over head... I don't know if freezing and keeping them on ice for the flight might help keep them from exploding. At least if you do that you may only loose some of the ones you'll need in flight.

  • @branfashionistad7579

Kids over the age of 2 need thier own ticket/seat. You can take your car seat on the plane as long as it is airplane compliant. If your car seat has a little airplane sticker on the side it is compliant. We have flown several times with our toddler son 2 1/2and he has done very well. We discovered that our son is more comfortable in his car seat than in the airplane seat or our lap.
I would contact the airline for information about Sebastian’s food especially if you are taking it on the plane in a carryon…they are very picky about “liquids.”

Hi Stephanie, I have taken all kinds of packages and containers with no pressurization problems. Like others have said, I would absolutely talk to the right airline representative that really knows the ins and outs of traveling with a special needs child. I would buy his own seat and use the car seat in it for comfort and convenience if nothing else. Do you have a stroller that the car seat can attach to? That might be convenient overall on the vacay. I think anything that will make him chew or even suck on will help with the ears. Try your best but don't let it get you stressed if he experiences discomfort or cries. Children and babies sometimes cry the whole way, no matter what. People on the plane will get over it and if they don't, so what! The only sunscreen I have used on my children is CVS clear Zinc Oxide. Works great, no unnecessary additives, is actually pretty clear, and not greasy. I buy it on Amazon. Don't forget the tops of his ears. Coat any exposed skin. I'm so happy you are all going! Have an amazing time❤

The food and stuff should be fine if you’re worried about spillages maybe pack them in some food bags so if they do leak it won’t go over everything. They should be fine tho 😊 as with Sebastian and his car seat, you’re allowed to take your own car seat and buggy with you free of charge. They usually do a gate drop off so you leave it at the aircraft steps and it go in the hold and u collect on arrival. All children over age of 2 need their own seat (for take off and landing) but speak to airline for specialist assistance. Enjoy Mexico! 🇲🇽 also a good tip we found when holidaying in the sun. When in and around the pool where a light t shirt and it keeps u cool in the pool and keeps the sun off your back and shoulders so you don’t burn so easily. ❤

I'm a very seasoned mom, but not a frequent traveler. Times we have flown with a young child or baby, we used their car seats on the plane buying their own seats. We asked many, including a flight attendant, and that is the safest for any baby or young child and what is recommended for safety. Of course Sebastian's passport pic is cute. He's naturally adorable!

If you can, purchase 1st class for the ease and extra comfort during the flight. If not, no worries. You'll be able to board early to get settled in and the flight crew will be there to help you (and, they'll be happy to help you no matter where you sit). Packing the food in luggage, for the cargo hold, will be fine. I travel frequently and often pack foods and even liquids (like Ensure). Ziplock the feeds to ensure no spillage occurs and leaks all over everything. I put hair products, fragrances, etc. in ziplok bags. You may also consider taping over the lid or seals to provide that added peace of mind (I always pack a roll of tape in my luggage, too, for the return trip). Definitely get with the doctor to see if Sebastian can take a mild sedative to help keep him calm, less agitated. You are going to have a lovely vacation and there is plenty of support from the airlines to ensure you have a good flight and an enjoyable travel experience.

I’m physically disabled n my late dad was a pilot I would ring the airline with Sebastian weight n height n explain things coz there can only be on ur lap past certain age or weight. Also there r some car seats u can put on airplane seat. Few years ago u could have a pram or car seat on top of ur suitcase I have seen if people travel with car seat there get car seat travel bag to keep things together.
Also ring where u r staying as there may have car seats or prams or bouncer for hire. If u r getting hire car some companies u can hire car seat with the car.
U r best to ring around n ask. Also if there big group of u going make it clear that u n another adult need to be sat together for Sebastian’s needs. Also ask for priority boarding even if it’s only u, Sebastian n another adult. Tell the flight crew it’s ur first time travelling n there will help some planes have a bassinet that can be in front of u.
If Sebastian has another that could set off security alarms like metal etc u need doctors letter.
With my condition I carry a up to date prescription, all my meds in carry on, letter from my doctor coz I have a pin that can set off at security.
If u go watch squirmy and grubs he travels a lot n shows how there make plane seats work I know it’s not the same but it maybe helpful.
So sorry for long post cant wait to see ur Mexico vlogs. Have u seen the insta 360 camera I seen so put on kids chest to do vlogs in eyes of the child such a wicked idea xxx

Make sure to get a dr letter for any and all medical stuff that you will need to have as a carry on. Then you will not have to have it with luggage under the plane and can be in an overhead compartment. You can do this for his food that you use from the prescription as long as they have not been opened you are allowed to bring them as they are medically necessary just need the Dr letter to state this and for each and every item. Also called a week before and talk to the airline you are taking and explain everything and ask any and all questions that you can think of. Some airlines will even let you with your child do a demo of boarding and unboarding without taking off

The main thing that you might want to do is see if the doctor can put him on something that will put him at ease. And then that way he won't be so scared. I know my friends. Child has the same thing as Sebastian. And she had to go through that same thing anyway we love you

I think he'd get a lot more sun protection wearing SPF clothing and hat. Don't have to constantly apply sunscreen.

Don’t have any travel tips for Seb, but now I’m stressing over it too - LOL! That’s a lot to think about, but I know other folks will give good suggestions to help you out. And, you’ll have Gio & fam to back you up. That little dude is in good hands for sure!

I don't know much about flying with kids, but I would pack some food in your bags and send some to a family member, just in case something goes astray, but you'll be fine...have fun! I know you were talking about food for the journey.

Can you buy freezed dried or dry food you can mix with water like fruit or cereal or rice? All you add is water and that way it won't explode

The FAA recommends children under 40 pounds have an approved car seat and their own airplane seat. My son at 1 and 3 years old had his own seat on the plane when we flew to Disney world. He slept the entire time on each of our three trips. We were lucky. Personally I do not believe in lap children. God forbid something happen on or with the aircraft children become human missles and the result can be deadly. To me a child should be properly strapped in their car seat in the plane as they would be in the car. They usually are required to sit in the window seat.

For his chin to heal - can you put a pair of gloves on him and pull his pj sleeves over the top so he can’t pull them off?

I think if you call ahead, you can reserve a car seat from the car agency.

Buy a travel car seat that is rated for air travel (Walmart sells the COSCO Scenera for like $59). Buy him a seat on the plane and strap in the car seat using the belt. It's so much easier (and safer in turbulence) to have them snug in the car seat than in your lap the whole time. Then use it in the car when you get there. I've carried fruit pouches and unopened juice boxes on many flights and never had issues with anything exploding. Also, keep your wipes in an easy place to get out of your bag when going through security - sometimes wipes set off the scanner for some reason.

Hello Stephanie, I loved watching you make your Tacos. They look delicious. It was nice to see Gio, & Cindy. Cindy is awesome & thank you for introducing her to us. I've watched a few of her videos , she is a hoot. I'm not a mom so I'm not sure how to help with your amazing questions. I would suggest maybe looking into a travel agent & see if they could guide you. I'm sending you all blessings. Sebastian you are an awesome gift to us all. I love you.❤🙏

I think I would check with his Pcp/ pediatrician, I worked in a adult primary office and I know we used to call in rxs or gave advise on something natural they could try . So I'm thinking the Pediatrician would be able to do the same with Sebastian. Hope you all have a wonderful trip❤😊🎉 I know my kids always loved music or watching a fave movie. That always kept them occupied.😊❤

My mom put socks on my hands as a baby so I wouldn’t scratch and pick on my face. 🤪 I don’t have any traveling advice for kiddos but as someone who has flown a lot for work there is always staff around to help. so don’t be afraid to ask questions and for assistance, it’s part of their job.

The hold in an airplane isn't pressurised so if you put his feeds in a suitcase that can go in the hold then there should be no problem. You can then take a preprepared meal in a tupperware container to eat on the plane. Also I think it is the swallowing mechanism that helps the ears when taking off and landing so jello should be fine. Hope this helps a little. Love and hugs to you all

Car seats should be FAA-approved and fit within airplane seat dimensions. Strollers must fold small enough to fit in overhead compartments.

You will likely need to bring his car seat and check it. I think his food will be fine, the pouches are vaccuum sealed right? So no air. Definitely call the airline about the extra seat for Sebastian. Since he’s about the size of a 2 year old you might be able to keep him on your lap. So much to think about! But it’s so exciting and I love his passport.
Tacos looked 🔥 and that guacamole. Dang. Delicious. I love Sebastian playing his drum too, so cute. Great video!

ask the flight attendants for a styrofoam cup with hot paper towels inside the cup. Hold the cup over your child’s ear with the cup sticking outward from the ear. Their ears will absorb the warmth produced by the towels and therefore help with the pressure from the plane and the ear infection. OR....There's a product called "EarPlanes" that's inserted in the Ear. Hope it helps!

I am so happy for you guy going on a Family trip. If your child has to be in a car seat in your car, why would you fly with them on your lap. I bought plane tickets for my grands that were in car seats in the plane seat in their car seat.
