This is a great work out for your Minor Sweep picking arpeggios technique.
Be careful while putting your palm near the edge of the strings in you bridge.
It doesn’t matter if your guitar has a “Floyd Rose” type tremolo or fixed bridge.
Also be careful with your fret hand while putting your fingers an the fretboard,
each note must sound individually.
Follow the tab below. Don't forget, always practice with a metronome.
There is no point to play fast and sloppy.

"It sounds not very musical but it's FUN" That's what shredding and music is about... Thanks Theodore! great lesson!
He jumped straight into the video he didn't mention how his day was going or anything.
calvin heathman lmao
Holy crap, 200pb is freaking sick!!! You are a beast, and i could hear the notes well. Its hard to keep it clean at that kinda speed without it sounding sloppy , you have insane technique.
Theo, this is by far one of the best sweeping lessons i've found. I watched this about an hour ago and started practicing the A minor arp with my metronome and I'm already doing triplets at 120 bpm! I think I would be able to push it to 140 or 150 today if i had the time. Thanks again. Keep up the hard work.
dude that last one was incredible. i’ve been practicing this technique every single day, and every time i think i almost have it its like my hands get dumb on me.
it took me more than 10 years to reach that level.
You can do it but it will take some time
Well, I just learned I've been doing sweep picking wrong for about a year. Back to the drawing board.
yeah man it takes a looooooong time to have under your fingers
i ve been playing for years ,.and i'm just now venturing into arpeggios and sweep picking..thanks for the info and the lesson!!!
here mate i could not play 20 notes per second even if my life depended on it, hats off to you :) some amazing skills there
Finally I get it. I thought is took strength when actually you must relax to do this. That is why the Heads are good at this, because they are sooo mellow. Thanks Theo. I will try this with a beer.
WELCOME BACK Man!!!!!Thanks for the lessons your making me a better player
I couldn't believe that I someday learn the basics of sweep picking, but because of you, it seems that impossible can be possible!! I will recommend your videos to anyone who wants to learn some stuff with guitar :) Thanks Man!
great lesson! keep them comming, you really just got me outt of a hard slump! i couldnt seem to match my speed with my picking hand with my fingers, but then i relaxed them, played a little mellow song then dived at this lesson and it was very sucsessfull! thank you so much!!! :)
Best lesson of sweep picking I've ever watched !!! Thanks so much for making it ! (And I've watched tons and tons of videos to learn how to do it right ... No one helped ...)
I like the way you explain . . sometimes, i forgot to relax my hands before I go with this kind of practice. thanks
OMG....thank you so much for this . I have been banging my head against ThE wall trying to speed up the Am Arpeggio. Once I shifted positions dam I..got it .now I can start to build speed .....ty

This was the first video that actually helped me to learn sweeping. Thanks a lot Theodore and keep the great vids coming.
Glad that you're back! I've been working on sweeping lately, so this is perfect.
Fully agree with you bud... been a metal guitarist for 15 years, ive never got ma head round.sweep picking.... until now!!!! Holy shit, no sleep.for me.tonight! haha.
yes, i am using 3rd finger on both strings
try to use the rolling finger technique, it is easy, do it very slow and then speed it up
when you feel comfortable
You are very good teacher, best in RUclips
Glad to see you're back, haven't seen anything from you lately! ;~}
Hi man, my name is Omar, it's very clear and very important to do exactly you explain, but also isn't very easy to do. Please go on showing another lessons. Thanks.
yes,it is not that easy...but you can do it sooner or later look VERY EASY !!
Go for it Omar !!
Awesome,I've never been into doing sweeps but after watching this I'm going to start
Guitar X lets go....!!
I'm ready to start learning brother!
so much thank you! don't have any electric guitar anymore :( :( :( :( :( :( so had to pick up classical laying around and try to see what you are talking about! love this!
Hey man, I like this little tutorial. Thanks for the content. I’ve really been trying to grow my arpeggio sweeps and this helps!
i can learn very quickly from you.. you're a good teacher dude..
Cheers dude for this video! Been practicing hard and developing speed i never knew i had before. I'll just keep at it upping the tempo and hopefully i'll be doing as well as you! Many thanks again!
Thanks for the help. I've been playing for 14 years but never learned sweep picking.
gabebravo great...!
you are amazing dude...love from INDIA...very helpfull lessons and the way that you play sweep arps is amazing man it has a different feel
The problem I'm having is my picking hand, accending I'm fine, coming back with the up stroke I find I'm fumbling a bit,I'm tripping over a few notes, but I'm getting a good rolling effect with my fret hand,a nice smooth motion. You my friend are seriously good and I enjoy your videos, you make learning new things easy.
Guitar X thank you
***** Awesome,I'll try that
+Guitar X
I had this issue I found to start go even slower then you think you would ever need to it sucks but it works. You need very thick pick
Iamawaketotruth how long will it take before it starts sounding natural? I'm still going slow and mechanically at the moment.
Theodore, thanks for breaking it down-this is very helpful
Cool Dude...I intend to watch a whole lot more from Zirus...even if I am Italian......LOL.....Good goin Zirus!!
would you please show us more complicated arpeggios? these arpeggios are basic arpeggios and i would like to know sophisticated and complicated ones.
thanks
Helpful. I lack the manual dexterity to do these easily but this does clarify some things. Mine will probably always sound like mud, but oh well. I'm sure with some practice using your instructions they can at least become passable.
Often it's easiest to mute with the Left (fretting) hand. in other words, you lift the finger as soon as you're done playing the note. when learning to sweep pick, the metronome is your best friend. it may seem tedious, but by starting with a 3 string sweep at ~40 bpm or so and working up at 2 bpm you'll have it faster and most importantly CLEANER than you would otherwise in just a few weeks. get 20 perfect reps in a row before moving on. this vid shows a month or more of work so keep @ it
.
that guitar sounds sooo good!!
@phyrl3
divide you practicing time in to 2 categories
1. Technique 2. Scales-Improvisation
take it easy...you know better which are you good and bad sides of your playing
so...go for it
this is a revamped version of your lick of week #2 i believe (:
thumbs up good job!
you are the man, your videos are awesome
Thanks for the lesson, I'm really liking your lessons you really break it down well. I've Subscribed to your channel and i look forward to more great lessons from you in the future. Thanks so much.

Nice lesson and GREAT channel Theodore! I like the name on the headstock of your guitar too. "VERVE" Kinda like my last name.
Very good lessons!
Do you use the same fingers for the same notes when going upwards again? that I didn't see... like that you're using the first finger again for the c on the b-string and so on.
nice the harmonic minor inversion of a minor arp
Cool.Something to work on. Thanks!

Hey superb man!! always superb!! :)
when he does it at 20 notes a second it sounds like the sweeps in Mab's Freight train solo
@guitariist
120bpm triplets it is a great start...
after few days of practicing you will play it a lot of faster
very cool your lessons mam,congratulations!!!!
@chayansen
yes it is important....it will halp you to be able to stretch you fingers and play the sweep easier
Glad to see a new lesson Ziras! Great lesson too.
I hope to see more and different types of arpeggio lessons in the near future.
Question
I have a pretty good grasp over sweep picking, but when i lift off the last note, it rings out causing noise.
Is this a matter of my technique? Noise gate? The guitars Action?
Thanks a lot Ziras, your the man.
great stuff bro, really helpful video! Subscribed \m/

great lesson man
Shweep picking. Amazing.
Ευχαριστω δασκαλε ,πολυ φωτια εισαι !!!
Thodori, during the upstrokes I have a difficulty playing the A (3rd str) and E (4th str) with the third finger. When downstroking is easy to get them with the same finger because i point with my third finger at E and then lie it down to get the A. But when i have to do the opposite is difficult. Are you using the 3rd finger for both A and E during upstrokes?
Thanks for your videos and efforts in general. These are really helpful.
this is great
@tziras that sound at 6:26 was metal as it comes!
nice!
-Peely
Awesome, thank you bro. I'm gonna practice this this my fingers bleed. = ) FUN!
love it will practice
Hujuuuu aprendi hacer arpegios gracias a usted jajaja
ahora a practicar mucho >_<
That's a beauty of a guitar my friend , I build and own a buttload of guitars and never heard of Verve ?! Looks like they know what they're doing tho !
Are you left-handed? It looks like the video is reversed. (and really compressed horizontally)
all my instructional videos are mirrored. i am left handed.
The horizontal compression is a youtube encoding thing.
Theodore Ziras
Thanks, boss. Amazing playing.
